  • and if you didnt know, they are saying/singing/shouting: "divide and conquer". : D

  • bravo

  • Boston College CS102 sent me here

  • fucking awesome

  • Anosou sent me here!

  • ahh now i know how a integer looks like.

  • HALLO an meinen Informatik-Grundkurs in Kreuznach =D

  • Comment removed

  • This is awesome, but I still don't get it.

  • I wonder, are they IT nerds, who took dancing lessons, or are they real dancers, who took lessons of algorithmization? Because I doubt they would find 10 guys on this planet, who do both..

  • @zzanzare I can almost guarantee you it's not the first one.

  • @zzanzare Fucking awesome comment ^^ spot on

  • @zzanzare real dancers with stage instructions =)

  • @zzanzare I know like two people who dance and are IT nerds!

  • Brilliant! Simply awesome!

  • Nekem nagyon tetszik. Szép munka :)

  • So, Those're the little fellas inside our personal computers, mainframes and servers

  • i like boys in stack

  • I do also love the hats. Bravo! Will you do heap sort next? Sounds like I'm not the only one who wants to see that one!

  • y u no choose RANDOM PIVOT???

  • Hat is a great idea!

  • Φωτάκης sent me here xD

  • AWESOME!!!! Way to go

  • Number three must be incredibly bored.

  • I want to see bogosort.

  • Che nerdata pazzesca!

  • If this is "quick", then I would hate to see what a "slow" sort is like... :S

  • My computer has only female dancers.

  • upvote if you came here from 9gag

  • The dancers all later died of exhaustion a month into the shooting of the lucky-sort dance.

  • Okay, how someone could not like this?

  • It would run faster with some parallelization!

  • @Jonar90Swe

Aha! That would be awesome!!!! BEST IDEA EVER.

  • Not really quick is it

  • Aaah, I get Quick sort now!

  • Zseniááááááális!

  • 9gag

  • Fabulous.

  • This is the coolest implementation of Quick-sort I've ever seen :)

  • I am Hungarian

  • @007jozsi Én is!

  • mfw when bubble sort video is shorter than this one.

  • TIL 0 is bigger than 1

  • 31 people don't understand computer science.

  • Tom Korner sent me here.

  • this quick-sort is not that quick...

  • :OOO

  • 10 bottles of beer! now what?

  • Bloody hell, get on with it.

  • The pivot should be randomized... I'm really disappointed here...

  • @marioac1989 The pivot IS randomized. It's just a remarkable coincidence that it happens to be the first element.

  • Comment removed

  • Well... this got to be the slowest sorting evaaaaaaar :D

  • I will never look at a program the same way again.

  • is 3 the first pivot for shits?

  • and you thought Java was slow :D

  • I used to do Quick-sort like that, then I took an arrow to the knee..

  • Don't understand why there are still people disliking this video!

  • Very illustrative

  • Sucks to be 3

  • That's a pretty slow sort function. I mean, it does it in few iterations, but that "merry.jig()" function seems to just eat up a lot of time.

  • @ratboy2713 Good thing that this bottleneck was easily detected even without a profiler.

  • notch hats!

  • best video i've ever seen :D

  • What is the point :P

  • Comment removed

  • Brilliant! :D

  • Notch sent me.

  • Looks kinda gay.

  • @jikarutakihira Compared to other methods it actually is.

  • Notch sent me here

  • @The65Hummer same. x3

  • @The65Hummer Those follower of the Notch cultists are all over the damned web!

  • @The65Hummer I don't get it.

  • You have to be over 18 to watch Heap Sort :D

  • It would be cooler if they were doing this in parallel...

  • Remember boys and girls, this is what your computer is really doing when you run your Quick-sort algorithms.

  • @iansragingbileduct And it plays this music, but really REALLY fast. :)

  • @iansragingbileduct Dear lord, nearly 7 minutes for 10 numbers? That has to be either the worst computer in existence or the most entertaining (and cross cultural)

  • @iansragingbileduct without the dancing :-)

  • @iansragingbileduct but I've never seen dancers inside of my computers!

  • @spiritualitydesire You can't see them. But the noise your hard drive is making comes from the clapping of these guys.

  • @getnorth lol

  • it used to be a quick dance then they took an arrow to the knee

  • notch is the one with the hat.......oh wait

  • Quick? That took 6 minutes!

  • You see, Vice Chancellor, this is how Hungary can be a major player in computing and while also providing our folk people with trillions of jobs.

  • According to Hungarians, bubblesort is faster than quicksort. Huh.

  • Comment removed

  • I wish my professor were this entertaining.

  • I used to folk dance...

But then I took an arrow in the knee.

  • So... Which one is notch?

  • and to think a computer does that 7 min video in fractions of a second, Still impressive to watch! :D

  • I don't think they sorted through that very fast, I could, and did, do it way faster.

  • great effort. thought they should have done the parallel version!! might have been less boring!

  • there was nothing quick about that

  • Quick sort using Hungarian notation.

  • Thumbs up if you're here because of Notch.

  • Comment removed

  • Dafuq notch? xD

  • Notch sent me!

  • I like the part where every thing got sorted out for every body. :)

  • Notch sent me! :)

  • Notch sent me.

  • Notch's army quietly infiltrates...

  • Comment removed

  • im in that part of youtube again...

  • @georgeboff The good part?

  • @georgeboff What? The normal part?

  • @theclinger yes... the part where Hungarians dance to sort the numbers 0-9 for 7 minutes...

  • Why is this video longer than the bubblesort one?

  • Notched...

  • What I've learned today:

Putting numbers in numeric order can indeed involve song and dance.

"Quick" means something completely different in Hungry - Sorting 3018725496 numerically took me 12 seconds #notbragging

In Hungry, you need several hats when going out dancing and they are to be worn and taken off periodically throughout the dance...

Post video thoughts: Thank god it was only numbers 0-9

  • 8 is the loneliest number~

  • This is a programming joke, for the people who don't get it. :3

  • Only programmers will get this :D

  • wtf notch?

  • whats happening

  • THis was smart! Hungarians and Romanians are smart at math and computing :)

  • I wonder what the clock speed on this is...

  • so this is a quick-sort?

i wonder what a lengthy-sort would be like

  • haha, this is awesome

  • It was going so slow, I lost track of what was happening...

  • No median-of-three? I guess that might be tough to choreograph, but still.

  • You've been Notched

  • This is a terrible implementation. If your'e a Computer Science student remember to always use Jamaicans. They run much quicker.

  • this is way sick lol

  • C++ Quick sort of 10 numbers within few miliseconds

Java Quick sort of 10 numbers within 6 minutes 20 seconds

  • This is what my dreams look like!

  • I wonder if the dancers know how the algorithm works and are executing it, or if its all just choreographed in advance.

  • @mihaicnica Based on the video description, which reads in part "Choreographer: Füzesi Albert," I would say it's planned. This is a demonstration, of which the dancers are very much a conscious part.

  • @mihaicnica From how much overlap I've seen with the dance and computer science communities, it's probably not unfathomable to find 10 dancers who know sorting algorithms, especially not in Hungary.

  • Notch ;D

  • this is brilliant.

  • Thumbs up if Notch send you this!

  • lol, AWESOME! :D

  • then i took an unfunny arrow to the knee

  • You don't know anything about basic programming until you've seen this.

  • n_t_h s_n_ m_ h_r_

  • No.

  • they're shouting "divide and conquer" :D

  • Comment removed

  • I like those peopleHungarians

  • So, this is how they learn their numbers in other countries?

  • you got notched.

  • notch just trolled us all LOL

  • notched

  • NOTCH

  • i wish i had a hat like that

  • The bubblesort version will be available on Itunes.

  • Damn it. Now in every computer science class I take I will have this song stuck in my head.

  • Minecraft itt van!!! Had to translate to hungarian :P.

  • MINECRAFT ISS HEREEEEEEEEE.

  • Colonel Byrkett here from the SSMinecraft army. Consider yourself famous!

    *Colonel Byrkett casts +20k views*

  • Thatssssss a very nice dance you have there......

  • What does this has to do with Notch?

  • @hdbuster18 his twitter.

  • Notch brought me here.

  • Hungarian folk dance is such a slow programming language. ;)

  • Comment removed

  • @daoneTM Still faster than java ;)

  • Is it just me, of does this just glow of the amount of fancyness?

  • Well, they sorted, but it wasn't exactly quick. Let's not start running our computers with Hungarian folk dancing just yet! :)

  • @Rollofthunder1 wait a second, how does your computer work?????

  • @1ziber1 I use BULGARIAN folk dancing. HUGE speed boost.

  • @Rollofthunder1 So that's why Minecraft's so laggy.

    It's run using Hungarians

  • Actually "Tirgu Mures, Romania". Good job to the Hungarians, tho ;).

  • This video should also totally say as seen on Notch's Twitter

  • This video is funny because as it turns out my left hear fucking hats stomping but loves music and my right one loves stomping but hates music.

  • Skindred - The fear, worked amazingly well to this video haha

  • The guy on the far-left looks slightly like Notch.

  • these sounds are like someone is fapping

  • I don't understand, therefore does not exist. This must be deleted for i will never comprehend.

  • though it coul dhve been quicker if youd all stood in the right place to begin with

also needs to be a 100 man version of this
