  • amazing all of those now fallan flag cars in that train and I wont forget the fallan flag up front equally as impressive

  • looks like chessie didnt do a very good job keeping their locos clean. that SD40-2 on the end was dirty as hell.

  • This was a period of tremendous furloughs..I'd hope they wouldn't be so quick on cosmetics...some of them guys were gone for 5 years.

  • interesting.

  • @GP30RDMT, oddly enough, N&W and Southern took good care of their locomotives in 1982, despite any furloughs they may have had. Chessie was known for poor maintenance, compared to other eastern railroads.

  • @tipdrip215, Chessie wasn't known for taking good care of their equipment...

  • yeah and that seemed to spread into CSX, while the good habits of the other 2 spread into NS.

  • @tipdrip215, very true....NS is a much better railroad.

  • my bad...not CASE IH...but just CASE...

  • That transformer on a flatcar at 00:33 doesn't look very stable.

  • If you could only find that many Soo Line boxcars on a train nowadays.

  • VERY COOL! What were those things on the two flatcars just near the end of the train??

  • I think that they are rear body sections for pickup trucks.

  • Those are Case tractors.

  • Check out the Tractors at 1:07. I cannot put a name with it tho?

  • Those are CASE IH 4-wheel drive and some 2-wheel drive tractors. Can't tell the model number.

  • COOL
