Opera singers ARE (in a technical sense) better than anybody who isn't one. They do things with their voices that any non-opera singer couldn't even dream of. I doubt Rimes could pass even the most beginner of singing tests. If I walked up to an opera singer and named a specific note, they could hit it. Could Rimes do that? Be honest. But we both already know the answer. And that's the EASIEST test. When she trains and studies for years and can do a simple trill, THEN be impressed.
