  • memories. lol

  • Always an instant nostalgia blast.

  • Anyone know what years these aired in? I feel like these are some of my earliest kids TV memories. When I saw this I nostalgia bombed like never before. I had forgotten all about these until I saw them and the memories came rushing back. This had to be before Fox Kids started or pretty close to it.

  • great memories eating cereal saturday morning sometimes i would visit my aunt and sit in front of the tv with my cousins as kids i miss being a kid sometimes

  • lmao! brings back memories!

  • My favorite was the hydrant roaring at the dog.

  • the good ol days

  • @AtomicAssaultKidd We'll be right back. YUCK!

  • Ahhh precious good ole days :))))))))))))

  • I've been trying to figure out if I made this up or it really exists:

I seem to remember a black/ white pencil-drawn style "commercial cue/ bumper" like this, only this one had a kid and a dog that were always getting into trouble, and the kid's mom would call him to dinner or something from the porch, and the kid's name was "Willby" (we'll-be) and he would hollar back to her, "RIGHT BACK!" as he was dragged away by the dog getting him into more trouble.

REAL LIFE or am I dreaming??

  • yeah well who ever watched ABC on saturday mornings in the 80s...CBS was where it was at, they had Muppet Babies, Pee Wee's Playhouse, Garfield and Friends etc

  • Look at 0:39 and look to the left. It looks like they made a mistake.

  • 10 peoples balls haven't dropped yet.

  • Love these.

  • I love the nostalgic feeling I get from these.

brings back a lot of memmories just from this!

    God I miss those days....

  • Did these come out in the '80s or '90s?

  • @Mavericker7 Late 80s IIRC.

  • This makes me feel like a kid again! Ah, the good ol' days!

  • omg I was a little one when these were used...I was like 3-5 years old...Damn I just got reminded of how old I am lol

  • OMG, I so remember this, watching Saturday morning cartoons, which is garbage now thanks to Disney!

  • Ugh. Watching all this stuff just makes me realize my life is boring and I don't watch enough cartoons. I'm going to go watch Fight Club.

  • I really wish I could have grown up in this time period.

    My generation sucks.

  • @Happycat287 My cousins, nieces and nephews who were born in the mid 90s said the same thing you said. I was like 8 years old when this came out, back when cartoons like Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show came on, I miss those days.

  • @xxxWarriorGoddessxxx If only time machines were real. ;__;

  • Takes me back to being 7 years old.

  • i sing this all the time...everyone i know thinks im crazy.. memories sweet memories.

  • That fire hydrant was an asshole!

  • 7 people weren't right back after these messages.

  • I remember all of these.

Those cartoons were may weekend staple.

Those were the days before the crap cartoons and reality shows that permeate the airwaves today.

  • man this bring me back to my child hood its a warm fazzy feeling

  • man they never had cool intros here before they showed commercials here.

  • OH MY GOSH. These bumpers are the sort of things you think no one remembers but you. Happily, I was wrong! How awesome to see these again!

  • Oh man!!! I remembered these bumpers!!! I miss the old we'll be right back bumpers!!!

  • These were the late 80's. I personally like the early 80's better.

  • I sooooo miss these.

    Thank God for YouTube!

  • LOL! I like that video.

  • @domirules28 if you was hardcore you watched from sun up to wwf etc with a nes hangover

    .... leik i did

  • GREAT COMMERCIALS!!!! How I remember these on Saturday mornings..

  • Damn this makes me feel old.

    Video games were better.

    Cartoons were better.

I want to go back to that time.

  • @snake2006 I do too. I'd love to take my children back and show them how great the 80s were. We were lucky growing up in the 80s.

  • @HawkfanMom1981

    Yes we were.

    Indeed we were.

Video Games were better then, cartoons were better, movies were better.

  • @snake2006 I miss the 90's shooters like DOOM and Marathon.

    Can't beat 'em...

  • @snake2006 well, maybe not video games. But TV shows sure as hell were better back then. Especially during the 90's.

  • @snake2006 i agree with u cartoons suck 2day and even mtv has gone downhill since childhood i think people like u and me that is all we have left from childhood i miss the 80's

  • Lol i remember seeing this commercial back in like '88 on abc 7 in chicago...those were the good ol days

  • @TheMackmessiah Yeah it was abc 7 chicago good days indeed

  • favorited

  • wow, i remember watching this during my childhood days in south dakota.

  • I remember this

  • I missed Saturday mornings so much. As I got older TV started to suck. Now its even worst, No cartoons or any good sitcoms or late movies, Just stupid reality TV, talk shows and court shows. TV will never be like the 70s, 80s and early to mid 90s

  • the days of saturday morning cartoons...good memories

  • Good memories indeed. ^^

  • Such good times...I remember climbing on the counter, getting my cereal bowl out of the cabinet, making cereal and watching cartoons on Saturday baby!

  • Me too!

  • @rabbiltube: i never woke up early enough on saturdays to see this...my dad would wake me up at noon to catch wwf superstars of wrestling, which was followed by american gladiators....

  • @rabbiltube EXCELLENT INDEEDY

  • It's a blast from the past, y'all.

  • Old school for real!!!! Thank a heap!

  • I cant stop watchn it

  • These quite literally scared the shit out of me as a kid. Like, I had nightmares, I would run out of the room when I knew a commercial was coming up just so I could avoid seeing these.

The one where the singers' heads roll off was the WORST.

  • I loved those!

  • what is wrong with you, how could this give you nightmares

  • Ah memories

  • My favoirte one still has to be the cowboy although the dog and the hydrant were good too. I didn't like the Mr. Bumpy ones that replaced them though.

  • I remember these. I loved them as a child. Actually, I still love them now.

  • I remember all of them too!!!!! SO GREAT!!!

  • Classic. I miss this stuff. You look on TV now and its like there is no point to cartoons on Saturday.. :(

  • Man alive, these bring back memories! I loved the ones with the dog and the hydrant in particular.

  • hardcore nostalgia

  • I faintly remember these from my childhood. Damn I feel old now...

  • i loved the one with the switching heads. First Transgender character on a Saturday morning show?! :p

  • lol the fire hydrant yelled at him. June 12 i turn 23 years old. these bring back memories to me LOL :=D ...

  • These used to come on during Pooh Bear!!!!

  • I think that dog wouldave pissed on the fire hydrint if it let him!

  • omg these bring back memories where did u get them from how did u get ur hands on them i was looking for these like forever

  • oh my god! I remember all of these, especially the fire hydrant ones!

  • I remember these! I used to love these!

  • I remember these!

  • Wow.

  • I was born in 1989,yet I remember all of these.

  • if i was that dog i wold of pissed on the fire hydrant for that ...

  • my aunt made these cartoons

  • ya right. im Dr.phill

  • she did i got the proof!

  • ok proov it then lets see ...

  • im related to walt disney!

  • unless your aunt was working for Olive Jar animation, you're full of crap.

  • olive jr created the mtv id buttler for mtv anamations. look up id buttler on youtube.

  • Thank you. THis is part of my child hood. My favorite is the trio when they hit thier heads on the ground, but really I love these all. I was sad when it left in the early 90s but was stoked when they returned.

  • for years before the internet i sung these songs, and felt wierd iliked commercials, now i see im not alone lol

  • YOU'RE NOT THE ONLY ONE

  • lol...remember those say no to smoking commercials from the early 90s?

  • slurping the hydrant lol

after these messages SLURP we be right back ech

    roaring hydrant great too

  • I also have sung these in my head, hours on end.

  • i am so glad that i was one of the lucky ones who grew up in the time period of the phenomenon known as the "saturday morning cartoon" i wouldnt trade those days for the world

  • I totally agree!! Well said!!

  • Yeah, those were the good days.... before cartoon network and toon disney and such that gave cartoons all the time. Saturday morning cartoons used to mean something.

  • @coconutshank I so feel you

  • @coconutshank yeah now kids these days don't know our good ols times not the rubbish the kids now days watch

  • And they wonder why were on drugs , cuz we grew up watching this crap ! Lol

  • then he whistles for his horse and it falls on him :P :D

  • Awesome. Yhanks for putting these up. Aahh when times were much simpler !

  • Love that licking hydrant!

  • Haha, I sing these randomly in my head too! Thanks for putting these up!

  • I think the very early 90's was the last time kids did all the same stuff... Everyone from the 50's-early 1990's have similar childhood memories. Cant say the same for kids now...Im glad I grew up in the 80's!

  • As 80s children we have soooo many of these little snipits lodged in our heads that keep replaying for us throughout our lives. I doubt anyone involved at the time knew what an impact their work would have on a generation :) Thanks for putting these up :)

  • What bumpers did they use between these and the ones made in 93??

  • The AM Posse. Just type in "AM Posse" and u should find it. u can't miss it.

  • the one with the 3 people singing was creepy then and i be damned if it still isn't creepy now!

  • It is creepy. It was creepy. It will always BE creepy.

  • This brings back a lot of memories.

  • I have consistently been singing the cowboy one with the whistle and horse dropping effect for years at odd moments in life.

  • Wow... I am so glad to hear that I am not the only person in the world that's been doing this. I'm not crazy after all, haha! In fact, that's what just happened to me and because of that, I knew I had to come on and search for it... Thanks for making me feel a little less weird. =P And yeah, I remember the singers, but am now just realizing how... odd that really is. Oh well, it never had to make any sense to be awesome back then.

  • Um, I was responding to misconduckt's comment about constantly singing the cowboy song with the whistle and the horse dropping on him and meant to say that I, too, have sung that in my head at random moments in my life for... well, a long time, haha.

  • AWESOME! I totally remember all of these!

  • Wow.. I remember this.. this makes me want to go relive my childhood!! LOL

  • Oh man...these ruled.

  • Oh Goodness, I was so scared of these bumpers when I was a kid. The horse falling on the cowboy and squishing him...And the folk singers doing 'The Exorcist' with their heads...I think that's the only one that still gives me the heebie-jeebies. The bodies stop, but the heads just keep turning...Creepy.

  • AH!

The memories of being a child and carefree while watching the old Saturday Morning Toons...especially the Bugs and Tweety Show. I always loved these claymations too. My favs were the interchangeable heads singers and the squishing of the singing cowboy by his horse lol.

  • geez, the ones with the singers scared the crap outta me as a kid.

  • I take that back, I was 8 1/2 going on 9 at the time when these bumpers were out.

  • AFTER THESE MESSAGES, WE'LL BE RIGHT BACK! I was 7 1/2 going on 8 when these bumpers came out. If ABC still owns these bumpers, they should bring them back for Saturday Morning.

By the way Mr. Cowboy, watch out for that falling horse.

  • So u were born around 1981? Lucky you, u know about this better than I do. I'm only familiar w/ the '90s bumpers.

  • i remember seeing those after these messages clips during my early life, i believe this ran from 1989-97

  • Are you talking about the jingle? Because I believe these claymation bumpers did not succeed into the 90s. By 1990 they were doing that AM Posse crap.

  • oh, yes this type of after these messages did air during the late 80s and 90s (til 97 i believe, if not within a few years before, but i was growing up during the first half of the 90s and saw this logo spilling into the other half of the 90s)

  • How old were you in 1990? Three like myself or what?

  • one, besides i was around 7 or 8 when this ended airing through the mid 90s

  • So you were born in '89?

  • But the claymation bumpers returned in 1994 or so and stayed on till late 1996 when they were gradually replaced by more and more Disney junk following Disney's purchase of the station.

  • Didn't know that. That's interesting 2 know.

But I only recall seeing those What-A-Mess bumpers. The claymation figures were a bit before my time...well technically, no--I was about 16 months old when they 1st aired.

  • U know what? You're actually right, because they did keep that for some time. But your probably more likely thinking of the "We'll be right back" jingle; that was on during the 1988 claymation bumpers, the AM Posse bumper era from the early 90s, the Bump in the Night bumpers from 1993-94, and the What-A-Mess bumpers from 1994-95.

  • I love the Bump in the Night ones. Did you know the B.I.T.N. bumpers were made a year before they even did the show?

  • No

But it does make sense because they created it months ahead of time so they would have it ready to put to air at the very appropriate time.

  • That might possibly explain why the voices are different. I always wondered why the voices in the commercials were different from the ones in the cartoon itself.

  • that horse means business! LOL

  • WOW, It funny the small things that you forget

  • good times indeed.

  • I only remember the dog and the fire hydrant ones, but still glad someone uplaoded these!

  • Awesome; this thing gave me nightmares back in the day but I still maintain a bizarre fascination with them.

Do you know any of the voice actors?

  • Nice! I remember how awesome the weekends used to be!

  • I remember the dog and the fire hydrant.... so well

    Thanks for sharing these<3<3

  • omg!!! I remember this... I'm suffering from nostalgia... *sigh* growing up in the 80's was fun!!!

  • Good ol' days

  • Those were the good ol' days. Now they have porno cartoons! Yuck!

  • LOL! Good times. I have a casset tape of recordings from these. I taped it on my "Talk Boy" Man, I smell Nostalgia.

  • i wish i could be a kid afain

    i hate paying bills

  • lol props

i feel like a kid again

  • Wow, I remember those!! Amazing how a single video can jog 15, 16 year old memories.

  • This was back in the day!! When Saturday morning cartoons were just that. CARTOONS!!

  • Good lord! I remember this!

  • ...finished these up(animating & directing), then went to NYC ..Saturday morning, less than 24 hours after the delivery, and these were the first things I see on the TV. Crazy. My first paid gig in the industry! Thanks for posting these! Fond memories...

  • I remember this. :)

  • I miss those days...SO MANY GOOD MEMORIES!!

  • Wow...Great memories.

  • My big question is:: WHO was the cowboys voice with the guitar!! I like his singing voice!

  • i miss my chilhood

  • Oh my god, i remember this.

  • I think these aired from 1988-1992.

  • My favorite after these messages is when the hydrant growls at the dog.

  • Great memories, great memories! :)

  • I love these! This was back during a time when it was worth gettin' up early in the morning on Saturdays! Thanks for the memories!

  • Now i wonder who has the "And Now....back to the show" bumpers im looking for

  • All of these bumpers were tight, especially when the horse had landed on the cowboy's head. Also when the 3 girls had bumped heads, and when the cowboy jumped out his guitar and at the end he strucked a pose. However, when the puppy dog try to sing the line, then Mr. Hydrant's eyes had bulged out and he scared the dog away and then he finished the line.

  • I remember all 3 "Dog and Fire Hydrant" bummpers.

  • Jerry Seinfeld and his hoes creeped me out as a kid. *shudders*

  • yeah. me too

  • Are you talking about the three singers (one guy; two girls) one? 'Cuz I didn't think they were weird when I was a kid (now I do), but I did think the cowboy one was stupid. And I thought CBS did the ones with the dog and the hydrant.

  • Oh the memories.

  • Why did they ever get rid of these? DUMB decision.

  • That hydrant must've had enough of being pissed on.

  • Aww the memories :)

  • For some reson, the cowboy one and the one with 2 girls with 1 guy are familiar to me....

  • i still sing this. i'm not sure what i watched that this played on... was it Sonic the Hedgehog? maybe King Arthur and the Knights of Justice.
