Good lesson, but most of the video is wrong. The opening riff starts off with the 10th fret of the top string and then to the 7th fret with underlying 8th and 7th fret hits on the string below (little more to it). And the chorus only has bar chords for the first note on the 7th fret and the last note (of the chorus) on the 5th. The 10th fret bar chord u did is actually a 3rd fret power chord I believe (without the f string involved). He also down picks the song good luck with that
@hailphire130 If you have your own way of playing the song, there is no problem with that, I am just teaching the way that I found works for me. thanks for the tips though!
@hailphire130 Dude, this song is in drop C, not d. Learn the tuning and then learn the notes and then come back and tell this kid he's wrong, which he isn't.
@FatalFatalities ok first of all, i know how to play this song and i know it's in drop c i'm not sure why you think i thought it was in d. and second of all, he is wrong. similar sound, but wrong frets on most of the video except the solo. you should probably watch the lesson by dan donegan himself before you say i'm wrong.
@hailphire130 just because Dan plays it his way doesn't mean that im not allowed to show an alternate way of playing it that sounds pretty much, if not exactly the same. if you hate the way i play it so much, then go learn from dan, but i would appreciate if you keep your negative comments to yourself. thank you
@MaximeKML ok look i apologize i really didn't mean to bash the video. i was just mad at that guy for making me sound like i didn't know what i was talking about. but i must ask, if you know that dan plays it differently, why would you teach another way? i'm really just asking because dan plays for tone which is why he plays parts like the chorus differently. the note may be farther apart, but they sound much more crisp and clear. however, youd did do a good jobs of slowing it down to teach it.
@hailphire130 the simplest answer i can give is because its easier haha, the way i play it in the video reflects the tabs that i found online and i didn't discover dan's way of playing it until after i learned it. i appreciate the apology though, and i understand your point. if someone is very specific about tone, checking out dan's video might be worthwhile
2.) pinch harmonics are easy bro, just tap the string with your thumb when u pick the note. its easier on the lower strings, so practice on those first
yes it can. every string except for the bottom c string is tuned a whole step lower. the second string is originally an a, and therefore tuning it down a half step would make it a g. the bottom string, which is originally an e, is the only string that is tuned two whole steps lower, dropping it first from an e to a d, and then to a c.
@kodihook lmao thats because im talking about the second string starting from the lowest string, youre talking about it starting from the highest string. just a miscommunication
@stephaneboutin133 Lol at least he tried doing a tutorial ...
