The New Mexico Medical Society, the largest physicians association in the state; is the latest group to oppose the governor's proposed universal health coverage plan, stating that it is "unworkable and unacceptable." They are critical of the provisions that allow the proposed Health Coverage Authority to set rate ranges for physician services, require physicians to accept any patient in a publicly funded program, and exclude physicians from serving on the Authority. I think the prob with this ad is that it conveys that Richardson is irrelevant and ignored. I realize it's lighthearted, but the takeaway is basically that Richardson is ignored despite his record. Unfortunately, the electorate is a Machiavellian herd. They want strength and charisma; facts are secondary. And they are often oblivious to subtlety.
This isn't a bad ad. Now check out this one... Search for the user Raul4Kucinich and watch his video. Bill Richardson would make a decent president, but I'm voting KUCINICH 2008 AND AGAIN IN 2012!
Now I'm an Obama supporter, but I liked this ad. It's watchable. It kinda makes me chuckle, not because it's a super-slick piece (it's not), but because this was an unexpected lighter tone to a presidential ad.
I'd like to see more candidates do ads like this. It doesn't attack anyone or anything.
Hey Bill, good job on the debate, I know you've spent far more time in politics then anybody I've ever met but I'll try to give some advice because I really think you should be our next president and you deserve to win...first of all, I'll be frank debating and rhetoric isn't your strong suit what you are good at is policy and results, not platitudes so next debate, start by explicitly saying (ala read my lips) you'll answer in terms of what you've done and what you'll do
nothing else it'll show how you're the results candidate (which you are)...besides, the "q and a" format doesn't give much of a breakout opportunity, this is how you'll differentiate yourself...doing that will mean very similar answers to the previous debate, but in a much better framework, it will focus the dialogue on the issues and not the opinions, their you're unstoppable...good luck, hope you read this PS will you respond to my volunteering request on your site?
I agree. After the 'noise' is gone, the real guys with the capacity, knowledge, and preparation to confront any situation are the last ones standing straight, strong, and ready to move on. Especially when they have the public interest at heart and a deep sense of service.
In times like these, that's what we need the most, and Bill Richardson has it.
oh yea, love the black guy and female figure...hmmm i wonder who those two could be alluding too....anyhow, that guy-interviewer from the first video is an interesting actor.

Lol, pretty good man. But when you going to go on the offense? You need to fight if you want to put some differences between you and clinton.

I like this. It's clever and light-hearted, and people will remember it. No one remembers the standard campaign commercial.
If I were running for president, I'd throw my entire campaign funds into trying to hire the Geico commercial people. But that's just me.

I have a hypothetical question for you
your the president and a earthquake just ravaged California what do you do
1 send aid and the national guard
2 go there to help
3 go to garage sales to find that perfect lava lamp that resembles the one you had in high school and liked to watch while on acid
4 send acid filled lava lamps to the victims and hope they can stay mellow and dosed just right

The sad part is most Americans don't care too much for facts. Hopefully though people can see that Bill is the man for the job.
