@JosephDillon57 "What saves a mortal is but one thing: LOVE. Love for God, family, neighbors and self. In that order." Yes, you have the proper order of things, but that is not salvation. It is the Christian walk. Salvation comes by God's Grace through our faith in Jesus Christ our Lord. First we must love Him, who first loved us. Then the Holy Spirit leads us to Him who saves us by His Grace through our faith. Then the Holy Spirit dwells within us to comfort us and to lead us into all truth.
John 3:16 is a wonderful verse, inspired by the holy Spirit. But we cannot take it to mean that all one needs to do is believe to be saved! We are to believe (John 3:16), repent (Luke 13:3), confess Jesus as Lord (Rom. 10:9), and be baptized FOR the remission of sins (Acts 2:38). By obeying God's commands, we truly believe (Acts 16:34).
Baptism doesn't save you... It is a ritual act that represents Jesus' death burial and resurrection. An act on our part is not required for salvation. All we must do is repent and believe. The true manifestation of this faith would be biblically found in Baptism. It is God's to do, and ours to believe.
Max Lucado is a wonderful teacher, Pastor, Author and a man of God! I have found comfort in his words. When I am reading his books, he makes me feel like I am walking right beside Jesus. His way of story telling is like no other.
Spiritual Fine Dining consists of Meat, Two Vegetables, and Dessert. The Word (meat), Repent (green vegetable), Transforming (yellow vegetable). Victories (Dessert)! We eat each day, and some days we fast. Prayer and worship is simply and seriously what we do.
Max is a wonderful teacher, I have this book and it inspired me alot. I believe Max together with many anoited men in the world is bringing Jesus back to the Church. My pastor, Pastor Joseph Prince and New Creation Church is also active in this effort. Pastor Prince sermons are greatly anoited. Just YouTube his name for his sermons. Praise the Lord Jesus Christ. We all love Him.
It is because of the gift God gave that I have the assurance that one day when this life is over I will be in the presence of Jesus. Enjoying an eternal life in His presence knowing what it is to have true life, love and joy. If you dont' know Jesus as your Savior and friend, John 3:16 is your first step in that journey. It is a journey that you will never regret. Thanks Mr. Lucado for your desire to share the Jesus I love with this world through this media and your amazing books
yes, but i think it looks great from a perspective of understanding... however, from the majority of the "secular" it may come across like an infomercial, because in all honesty i think it is an accurate description of an "opinion"

sounds like, "come as you are" maybe we need to focus on "repent and believe"

@EZEKIEL3622 You can only come as you are. You can't clean yourself up first.
