I like this song... I could listen to all day long... it reminds me of momma... she would sing all kinds of church songs. She passed away in December 2010. When I listen to this its almost as I can hear her singing... like she use to do... Awesum song...
@55EagleSoaring I fought in the Iraq war that would protect my people and country for the people like you who can minipulate others by religion. Christianity is not for everyone, but alot of people have been saved through it.
@THE103345732 OH REALLY!!!! What do they need Medicinemen takin your money for prayers while trying to commit sex crimes on your kids.& try to fill you with fear ??? your stupid!!! sure their's power in traditional religion but there is a sacrifice to obtain that power ,usually the innocence of their children ,why do you think their is a lot of molestation on the navajo rez & to people who go to get curses broken by medicinemen, remember you in order to break a curse you must learn to set a curse
@NativeFirst and u think pastors dont do the same thing. Remember christianity was built on genocide of other cultures. Im pretty sure the church u attend "Potters House" is no better. Mind control, rape, molestation, a registered violent cult with the dept of justice. It has a history it can't hide.
@johnsonative I dont think history should be the issue .If you want to live in the past,so be it .For when we die we all are going to be held accountable for our sins & pride is one of the 7 deadly sins .As for church,,, we could attend 1000 churches but in reality we are the church cuz what we obtain spiritually is what we show in our character being able to let go of the past & all that has happened to generations before us thats what you call forgiveness, not bitterness
@NativeFirst yeah, sounds like all your members think alike to always give the same reply. Pretty well trained and groomed to divert the truth. History always repeats itself lets see what generation you guys will decide to destroy next.
@johnsonative members???what you talkin bout members,,You definitley have some issues, being a ignorant fool drips from your lips.If history is your expertise remember"Stupid is as Stupid does".. you see these so called medicinemen come to town to get drunk then go back home & still say my prayers are holy ,you have to be honest to yourself not just act like your doin good..Me I know I'mnot perfect & I could admit it but I know I am not the person I was 10 yrs ago thats christ, changin lives
We are serving the Navajos as encourager in Rough Rock AZ.. This is our favorite song especially since one of the girls coming to our Sunday school is Nazhoni - she is in deed beautiful. We would like to know how to get copies of all of the Chrisitan hymsn and Christmas Carols to use in our church since we do not have a music leader. Can you help us?
@budnjudy1 Most of these songs are avaiable in the green Navajo hymnal book called "Jesus Wóódláájí Sin." All of the Christmas carols can be taken from there. Everything else can just be copied from these videos.
My mom loved to sing this song while playing her keyboard. Oh, how I miss her voice. My mom taught it to Ashleigh, her great granddaughter, when Ashleigh was in headstart. One day Ashleigh was so inspired that she performed it in class. :-)
this is so nice! very beautiful simple song, and lovely. i have never heard a Navajo hymn before. thank you so much for posting this. may Jesus our Lord and King protect you and walk with you always.
Thank you for posting this. So beautiful! Nizhoni! Makes me homesick. I worked for PHS in Fort, Chinle, Shiprock and then twelve years in Nanizhoozhi.
Now retired in Indiana. It has been pouring down rain here for two days. My best to all of you, from John Q.

this shit isn't as sacred as praising the diyin with nothing but a rattle, it's actually a colonized version of the same thing....sad
