  • One of my favorites ;-) This was really recorded well too.

  • this piece is like time travel, it is so brilliantly composed it will place you where ever it is you think you need to go

  • This is such a hauntingly romantic sound. Thanks for putting it up.

  • I can never find a video with such a clear, flowing sound as yours. :)

  • I HAVE NO IDEA OF HOW ANY ONE COULD POSSIBLY DISLIKE THIS SONG ITS SO BEAUTIFUL ITS HARD TO DESCRIBE WHAT A FANTASTIC SONG IT IS, ITS LIKE DISLIKING OXYGEN

  • Magical and inspirational!

  • beautiful... absolutely beautiful... It's all I can say... Thank you, Maestro... ^^

  • Gimme a woman now. I must have sex to this song.

  • A beautiful performance of one of my favorite pieces of music. Thank you for posting!

  • if you feel bad and you listen to the arabian dance you feel good

    afterwards you become better

and then if you keep listening you feel just awsome !

  • mükemmel

  • I LOVE THE WAY HOW VIOLINISTS SWAY THEIR HEADS TOGETHER AT THE SAME TIME. SOMETHING VERY MAGICAL ABOUT IT.

  • Brilliant

  • I listen to this again and again! The feel to this whole thing is magical.

  • wow this is amazing. THIS is something i can dance to, and really feel like the music is long, and gummy and melty. this actually makes me look forward to the nutcracker ballet this year :D

  • cool

  • Thank you so much. It made my day...

  • Thanks a lot for sharing

  • Ennio Morricone's "Al Capone" theme from The Untouchables seems to sample from this song. See 2:53 and 3:12.

  • It was difficult to me to listen this kind of music. Now I know that is food and nectar for our soul...

  • Merveilleux ^^

  • outstanding performance

  • Bravo!

  • awesome quality!! magnifiscient music

  • Worth mentioning, Tchaikovsky borrowed this melody from a Georgian Lullaby. He went to Georgia five times in his life and was in owe of its musical temperament.

  • oh so much soul in each performer, this music is delicious.

  • I did this role in The Nutcracker for 4 years and I WISH I had had this version.

  • Hypnotizing

  • ABSOLUTE PERFECTION it is Jan 23rd 2011 and I only just discovered Tchaikovsky

  • Excellent video quality, sound-visual

  • wow they did outstanding on this..perfection!

  • "2 dislikes", yeah right. Like someone could dislike this. Not humanly possible.

  • Melody - Georgian Lullaby. very very Nice and Beauty.

  • We need to appreciate the violas here, it sucks playing this piece on one. you are just going between a D and a low D. the fingers start to hurt after like 20 measures :P

  • @TheMattachins I haven't seen the score yet, can you describe me what it is you mean when you say it is just going between a d and a low D ? I' quite interested so thank you for your time :)

  • where can I download this?

  • im doing it in a play

  • This is my favorite!!!!!!! <3 <3 <3 So beautiful. Awesome performance, well done.

  • I love this song because it can be percieved in so many different ways. After watching a few videos I have seen christmas eve mentioned as going well with this song... a general on the morning of a battle he knows he will lose... a mysterious woman in a forest... the way this song can be molded to fit almost any situation is astounding. Few pieces of music have such a huge capacity for diversity. The only other one I know of is Gymnopedie no.1 by Eric Satie.

  • Bravissimo Maestro Hartung e bravissima orchestra!!! Tra le migliori interpretazioni che io abbia mai ascoltate. Ancora vivissimi complimenti.

  • Beautiful. It always reminds me of the magical time after midnight on Christmas Eve, when all is completely quiet; the fire in the hearth is dying out; the presents have all been been set out under the tree and and you've taken to the best chair by the fireplace, sipping a hot drink, entranced by the the embers, thinking about Christmases long ago and loved ones long passed but now very much alive and with you, enveloped in this timeless reverie by Tchaikovsky.

  • (( i big thumbs up))

  • amazing, the best of Tcahikovsky hands down.

  • @Anglynn74 Now you've gone too far. But I love it too.

  • Dancing to this song for the Nutcracker. I luv it!

  • makes me sleepy :) but really nicely

  • Agree with all....fantastic vid and audio quality!

  • Magical , Beautiful, Wonderfull,

  • This is a piece of art with both so much elegance and sensality in it... mesmerizing.

  • Is it weird that my first memory of this song is from an episode of ren & stimpy? Hauntingly beautiful song....

  • @theChamp83 my first memory is from desperate housewives XD

  • Magical!!

  • Second violin boy is sexy : D

  • One of the best versions I've heard.

    Beautiful

  • Wonderfull :)

  • I heard this played on Desperate Housewives last season and I really loved it. Glad I could find a good audio version on YouTube. I'm starting to appreciate classical music a lot more now. It really transcends time and culture.

  • I think this is the best performance of this song I ever heard. Now all other sound so lame...

  • The haunting sound of the oboe still gets me after close to 50 years of listening to this piece. Only criticism is that it seems oh so brief, but not sure what could be added.

  • its such a beautiful peice, it sounds like a gorgeous woman trying to seduce her man, unsuccesfully at first but then he gives in to temptation. i love it!

  • grieg's arabian dance is also good

  • I heard this at desperate wives , and fall in love with the sound , beautiful

  • this is played very nice....

  • Perfection at its Best! BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is an amazing piece, beautifully performed. It's definitely my favorite song from the Nutcracker Suite.

  • This is absolutely divine. Its clear... perfect. This is my favourite piece. Can't wait for the winter holiday season to began so I can go and see Nutcracker.

  • wow, this IS great! Thanks for uploading! :3

  • Tchaikovsky was a very gifted composer. I wonder how his works would be if he lived in Baroque time.

  • Vivat Volker Hartung! That is the right tempo of this russian misery, Tempo of death and passion. Tchaikovsky (or Czajkowski) - the best composer of all time.

  • Tempo is delicious. I think this is the only piece of music that features a tambourine that sounds sad.

  • aww i miss dancing in the nutcracker.. i never got a solo but i was always in it as a soldier an angel or somthing :/

  • @pinkvela agreed. I dont want it to end

  • @pinkvela I agree. Forever.

  • @pinkvela my feeling exactly

  • @ElizaMogha I like things that are hypnotic.

Now may I lead you to watch the Bejart ballet version of this: just type in Arabian Dance Bejart. The girl has the best "developpes" ever!

  • @pinkvela i absolutely love this piece. i love this version only, when i hear it in other tempos or with other instrumentation, i just dont like it enough.

it was love at first...hearing for me: i watched a dance solo to this (on a different theme though) and it just won me forever. it's magical

i have watched the video you're suggesting. believe it or not, i dont like the choreography. it's too much of showig-off-my-great-legs and it doesnt suit my aesthetics. im rather appalled

    thanx a lot!

  • @ElizaMogha well, Bejart is not for everyone.

  • Such a peaceful and meditative piece. Great music to listen to while reading a good book...

  • HELLOOO prince charming ;)

  • Love it...

  • oh my god ive finally found it.

    thank you god lol

definately the best part, it makes you feel alive

  • I think, that it's a little bit to slow.

But that's my favourite part from the nutcracker suite.

  • I really like the song where Marie and the Prince come in...I was Marie one year. Best dancing year of my life. Cute Prince too!

  • Wow! This sounds great!
