well some times they have to put animals down some times they would just die in missery or they were going to hurt others and its self, if you do have an animal that you are goimng to put some where like that try to make shure it is a no-kill shelter if it is they will only put dieing and dangerus animals down
You mean not taking your pets to the pound. I worked and volunteered at my city SPCA for years, and we don't put animals down but rather we keep them till they are adopted.
@Freshtildeath6 Uhh.. Where do you get your source? Plus, there are highly skilled vets working at the shelter so I don't think they threw alive or sick animals away. Instead of throwing sick animals away, they actually treat it till the animals are ready to be adopted. I used to be a cat staff and I cleaned area where sick cats stayed at. Once they were better, I moved to the front where people can adopt them.
Maybe not all SPCA are non killed shelter, SF is different.

@TaintedPast Naa your wrong, They put a dog down and it was still alive in the trash; After that happened EVERYBODY wanted to adopt it.
