  • This is true. Some 20 year old or 30 year old can't say anything. You do not have the draft. This was senseless war. Senseless and cruel. Do not blame JFK,he sought advice from Eisenhower, whose VP was Nixon. JFK was about to end the war when he was killed. Nixon wanted to Nuke Nam. What comes around goes around. Nixon resigned,Johnson was TOLD he could not run again. It was a social revolution. Protests began peacefully but it was the mayors and police who used brutal force.

  • idiot. they one who. if they dint fire we would have won that war and kept south vietnam. it disguests me that we had the greatist loss on the capitalist side of the billigerents because of a idiot with a ichy triggerfinger. no regarred for human life wheather its a south viet being executed by the communists or even his own countrymen

  • Thank You for telling the truth!!! <3

  • Vietnam was a lost cause and failure, with 58,000+ American soldiers dead for NOTHING. The U.S.A. lost Vietnam. Face up to it and accept it, Americans. Vietnam is 100% communist....the U.S.A. lost. Also, just proves what the U.S.A. actually is....a nazi police state, where Americans fear their own government, police and military. Americans better wake up soon and stock up on their guns and ammo, because they are going to need them to protect themselves from their own police and military.

  • What a bunch of fucking hippies. They deserve to be shot.

  • @FiREFLYSerenity408 i know

dam hippies think they can do everything

  • Nixon was right to hate hippies , they were a bunch of rich white kids who smoked weed and hung around filth. and to top it all off, the ruined the lives of US troops and there families by making them think they were hate and unwanted by there country.

  • @vandev97 These 'hippies' who died for there cause set off a chain reaction which was a one of the many reason why the war Vietnam ended. you think they ruined the lives of U.S. troops were actually these 'hippies' saved hundreds if not thousands of men who were fighting a war they could not win and also many of them didn't know the reason they were there, The american government are personally responsible for 58,000 + american deaths and 5.1 million + Vietnamese deaths .

  • What about all the poor boys that were slaughtered, it aint news until the rich kids die huh?

  • "The only four letter words a hippie doesn't know are w-o-r-k and s-o-a-p." - George Wallace

  • Great job!

  • Hard to believe Americans firing on other Americans

  • Excellent documentary on a tragic, senseless American tragedy..thanks for posting this.

  • Where are the war protests today to the unconstitutional wars we keep entering? Where are the college students today?

  • @alm260

Where are they indeed. I think a big factor today is that people are used to war and the associated imagery. Back then it was pretty new.

  • They all should have been taken and shipped over-seas and sent in on point. Maybe the VK would listen to what they have to say.

  • GOD DAM HIPPIES

  • @eth27 GOD DAMN PEOPLE WHO CAN'T SPELL

  • this must be a joke. the only thing they achieve untill now was to change the rifile killing bullets with plastic? america is allways in war.. that what needs to be changed..thats why the students died..for PEACE! not plastic bullets!

  • Americans aren't forced to hear about Iraq or Afghanistan every day now. They can simply change the channel. They also don't have to worry about themselves or a loved one being drafted, so that also makes the war less real.

Luckily, we're starting to feel some of the side effects now, with some cities having to cut their lights and some states having to cut their education budgets. But, unfortunately, Americans failed to put pressure on Obama to end it.

  • what was the theme that year? im doing kent state this year and the topic is debate.

  • Funny, Lyndon Johnson started the VietNam war, lied about us being attacked at the Gulf of Tonkin and yet he was not mentioned once in this video. Biased? You make the call.

  • @mastiff111 Eisenhower and the military industrial complex got the U.S. involved in Vietnam not Johnson.

  • 67 shots and 4 deaths...they can't shoot worth a shit

  • Israel has been killing protesters for over 50 years in Palestine.

  • Nice job...but one thing you need to realize is that by this time it wasn't just antiwar protesting anymore...starting with Columbia in 68 there were people there who were just rioting, even partying...they weren't actual antiwar protestors, they escalated out of control in a terrible fashion, destroying property and provoking angry reactions from law enforcement...I'm not saying the cops were right but tempers flared on both sides with tragic results, even if it did cause Nixon to back off..

  • Excellent video. I was part of the core anti-war group (SMC) at the University of Texas when this happened. Our campus pretty much shut down for a few days. At one point, with thousands attending a rally in front of the infamous (Charles Whitman) UT Bell tower building, a fake coffing was passed over the crowd while the bells played "Bridge Over Troubled Waters." Very moving. A few days later, I met Mike Alewitz, who had been an activist at Kent State and was a friend of Allison Krause. Aloha

  • This is the the reason people don't protest, they are afraid of our government. That is why the government gets away with what ever they want to do. No one will stand up to them anymore. The people need to Protest, STAND up people ... stand up for what you believe in

  • @MegaEmma1111 I believe in having an open season on hippies (((-:

  • I went to Kent State and saw the bullet holes a year after the shootings.

My sister was there at the time and saw it all. Her friend Sandra was killed and was just walking to class.

  • Great work!!

Much thanks to Alan Canfora for keeping this in the limelight all these years.

For those who do not learn from history are condemned to repeat it time and again.

  • You know when you hear this wounded guy recounting his actions and observations that day, it becomes pretty clear that he and his fellow protestors were NOT dispersing at all but attempting to play a dangerous tactical game with the national guard. "I had a black flag, I waved it..." "we assumed they were going back down to where they came from" Does that sound like dispersing?

  • A sad day, but the students burned a building, damaged property, rioted and more.

If they did that to my property, I would have had a legal right to shoot and kill.

And I would have done so.

Do not blame the National Guard.

    Blame the students.

    They started it all.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • Civil dissent against government mandate. Sounds a lot like the Tea Part Patriots. No? Or do you liberals see it differently?

  • Nice work. Thanks.

There was another major portest at Kent State, years later, when the University declared they were going to build a gym on the exact site where the National Guard gathered and shot.

We wanted a Memorial to the Shooting there, not a gym -- and some folks thought it was also 'covering up evidence,' to erase that spot.

We didn't stop the building of the gym. It was the most intense protest I was every at. Spent 9 days in jail.

But we see this is Remembered. Thanks again.

  • well... opening fire got the protest over so... that shows violence is the answer

  • if the soilders in iraq want to stop the war they need to start to kill their damn officers like they did in vietnam.

  • by using green day .....for just an instant .... i could see the youth behind all the hairiness. it was a very hairy time . everyone looked much older then ...blah blah blah

  • Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young - 4 dead in Ohio

  • A great mini-doc on the Kent State massacre of 1970.

Good work and an excellent job!

Mr. Canfora is to be highly commended for his tireless efforts

at keeping this horrible injustice in the spotlight over the years.

This new generation of students must NOT forget what happenned here.

For if they do then history will only repeat itself in one way or another.

  • @GM1258 it seems the "new generation" of Kent students are having no problem remembering history, poke around on youtube and you can't miss seeing videos of mobs of drunken teens and tweens setting fires and destroying the campus and surrounding town a few years back.

must be a ohio thing, I dunno...

  • Too many anti-war protesters.

  • 67 rounds from 30-'06 M-1 Rifles, and four dead? WOW they really needed more range time what a helluva waste of AMMO. When these commie cowards refused to fight and when we finally left SE Asia, the communists in Vietnam and Cambodia Killed millions in Re-education camps, estimates are between 1 and 4 million. Way to go hippie scum. How many Cambodians would be alive today if Nixon had gone in? The only thing the student movement did was advance socialisim in this country.

  • Too bad Alan Canfora didn't pay the full price giving aid and comfort to the communist enemy while our troops were in the field of battle.. He has made a career being a wounded peace victim when the truth is he is just a coward traitor who worried about his ass being drafted instead of the Viet Namese who wanted freedom. 67 guinshots and only 4 dead - bad markmanship[.

  • You are sick in mind, I have never before read such drivel. Why not watch CSNY's "deva vue 2". You never know, some light might shine into that dark sewer of your mind.

  • @TheEarlBounty Best you can do - LOL. By the way Africa America was freed by Abraham Lincoln, the Republican Party and a lot of dead white guys on the field of battle - Oh No, a good War. King overcame the racism of the Democrat Party including the Dems KKK, lynching, pole taxes, segregation and politics of hate and divide. Dem Woodrow Wilson called The Birth of A Nation a great film - check it out. Canfora is still just a piece of yellow cowardice rolled in a commie flag. A turd is a turd.

  • the asshole hippies did dieded

  • i could have done a much better documentary of such an historical event.

  • god bless america :s

  • I never heard of any vets being treated badly by "hippies"...those vets were our peers, friends & neighbors! They suffered in Viet Nam, & are still suffering. What PROPAGANDA! Unless they were the hardcore, warmongering kind of soldier who enjoyed the atrocities they were doing to civilians...now THEY caught some shit. THINK! Those soldiers were drafted--most of them didn't want to be there. You kids who form these lofty opinions on very little info or experience are driving me crazy.

  • @mickindanny

Liar. 1972,two of your hairy commie types tried to assault my brother and me.I was only a little kid and your comrades at the USC campus tried to assault my brother because he was a Marine and a vet in the Cambodian operation..He beat you reds down and let me give one of you a good kicking. I've been bashing you reds since I was five. Skinhead 4 life.

  • It's a shame to hate any group of people for the actions of a few. We're talking in a lot of generalities, and that's never good for anyone. We're all individuals. I'm sorry you ran into some assholes, and at such a young age. I'm even sorrier that your brother taught you to harm and hate. I hope you find true peace. We all struggle every day to control hard feelings toward any group, and retain our humanity. Happy Holidays to you, sincerely.

  • @mickindanny sadly there were cases of Vets being horribly treated. i'd like to think we've learned from Nam, even though i disagree with our current conflicts i offer respect to our troops. its the politicians i blame

  • Ho Chin Mihn had said that the US would loose the war but not in Vietnam but at home.

  • Farloon...You speak garbage. At least the youth and people of the USA were not afraid to speak out against this war. We had a voice and we used it. Most protests were peaceful. We were not bought by Soviets. How many Viet Nam War Veterans do you know or have you spoken with? Did you know the National Guard shot at WWI veterans at the end of WWI when they built a cardboard village asking for their veterans benefits they had been promised? "Brother Can You Spare a Dime"?

  • I have a question: which in Corea would you like to live ? These guys came to vietnam and fought for freedom and dignity of those people. I agree that some did money on that war etc. I had a conversation with some veterans and the toldm that the worst was not the Jungle (most clashes our soldiers won ) but when in US some dirty junkies or so caled intelectuals shouted that they are children and women killers. If you were not bought personally but you were "useful idiots" as Lenin said.

  • WTF, are you even talking about. You can't even make a coherent sentence, and def not a good argument.

Another ignorant person in our country.

Unfortunately we have an abundance of those.

  • This is an excellent mini-documentary on the Kent State killings and that era in general. The only criticism I would have is in pointing out the ...unsuitability ..of Green Day being part of the musical accompaniment. I have studied these events over the years, but actually learned a thing or two from this presentation. Was this an assignment for school? Nice work and good for you for keep the memory of this tragedy and injustice alive.

  • nixon is a bitch

  • Isnt there a movie called kent state or something?

  • No one seems to mention the communist aggitators that pushed this to a fevered pitch. None of this should have ever happened. And the Nat'l Guard? A bunch of scared kids, they wished none of it happened either. Who got away with their part in this? The commie aggitators disguised as activists. Of course though, libs write the history, so this was a "proud" moment for the left, pathetic.

  • Communist agitators? Are you Kidding? Stop this paranoid talk and face the facts. This was an enormous overreaction by a cowardly govenor. Why would you put armed troops in such a situation and then say you had no idea they would kill someone? The people have a right to protest actions and policies of the government and demand accountability from it. We were founded on this idea and by people that did just that. Sorry you don't like it.

  • @morbious8 Yes, but the people don't have the right to unjustly threaten people's lives with snipers and rock throwing junkies, trash public and private property, and spread riot and chaos into the city of Kent.

If they did not fire on these students, these kids would have burned Kent State and the city down. These students were like terrorists, they only understood the barrel of a gun.

  • @morbious8 actually America was founded on democracy and the will of the majority, these students were rioting and assaulting people out of angst for US policy. the Republican candidate won the 1968 election and their platform was to continue the war. Do you think this follows democratic ideals to resort to violence and mob rule when your side loses to the majority?

  • @batvette the students were exercising their democratic rights. yeah they should have never set fire to anything but the manner of retaliation shows the tyrannical nature of the government they were opposing. i think it is far more patriotic to challenge and question positions of power instead of surecoming to them, that is what makes and keeps democracy-not just voting.

  • @HeavyMetalThunder211 So the minority whose party loses the election should riot and destroy property and disrupt others' right to an education if they don't get their way and the majority's policy is enacted? That's a scary democracy if you ask me. Democracy would be upon Nixon's announcement, motivating everyone to petition an emergency session of congress, not burning down the town.

  • @batvette who says some of the student's weren't Republicans? i am in no way attempting to justify those who destroyed property. in reality who did those students threaten, what great crime did they do. no riot has ever threaten the violent overturn of our nation, however tyrannical powers in the mask of government intervention are a direct and real threat-look at Mr. Nixon he did far more damaged to America then a group of protesters

  • @HeavyMetalThunder211 "who says some of the student's weren't Republicans?"

ohhh, I think we can safely say there was not a single student on the grass that day doing anything but going class to class that supported Nixon and his policies.

As for what great crime did they do, please go to the wiki page on this and read the events of May 1,2,and 3. You seem objective enough that I won't have to read it for you. Throwing rocks at firemen? Please.

  • @batvette the protesters never hurt anyone (again they were wrong for some of their actions though), the nation guard killed three and wounded nine. i read what you asked, now if you could returned the favor and Google "the Boston Massacre" .

  • @batvette public demonstration is an important part of our constitutional freedom-as the any other right such as the right to keep and bear arms. if the civil rights movement had not been allowed to protest the laws that were already in place we still might have some Jim Crow laws on the books today.

  • @HeavyMetalThunder211 sorry i don't mean to batter you with replies, but Thomas Jefferson and sever other of the founding fathers thought when they formed this country that there would be a revolution every twenty to thirty years. that's how high they thought the price for democracy was and they thought it well worth it. a few burned buildings and and a few thrown rocks seems like a pretty good bargain (throw in some dead students for free).

  • @HeavyMetalThunder211 The right to peacefully assemble and protest is protected, the right to gather in an angry mob, looting, setting fires and assaulting emergency responders is not. The latter is what was going on over that weekend and these videos conveniently omit all that.

Trying to appeal to compassion for Jim Crow laws is silly. Irrelevant.

  • @batvette in all honesty i think we should for two reasons 1) because we are causing blow-back and 2) we are becoming Empirical. we should be the beacon for world Democracy-not world control. i don't know what a IMBC is, please enlighten me

  • @HeavyMetalThunder211 you're going off on a modern tangent, the issue was intervention in vietnam in context with fighting communist expansion.

ICBM= intecontinental ballistic missile. Meaning you cannot fully counter the Soviets strategically by running home and building a fort if they can nuke you from 5,000 miles away.

  • @batvette

What these hippies dont realize. NUKES is what kept the world in its place for the 60 years after World War Two. We were too scared to do ANYTHING, but "small scale" warfare here and there. Vietnam was wrong, i have issues with the Hippies themselves. not with what they believed in. so ill disagree with your "fighting communist expansion" theory in Vietnam. We should have never been there. Let the South get taken over.

  • @HeavyMetalThunder211

for the little IMBC comment. i hope your sarcastic. if you didnt know what an ICBM was, you have no right to an opinion on the matter. so STFU or SFTU (in your kangauge)

  • @morbious8

or an overaction by protesters looking to instigate a fight with the national guard.

  • The U.S helped kill millions of vietnamese all because of their selfish fear of Communism. All the while America only suffered some 60,000 casualties. Imperialism is flat out wrong. During this devastating war, America was guilty of genocide.

  • Where is the picture from that is show at 4:13. What website can I find it on.

Its the one with the girl and the sign that says "48700 american soldiers 4 american student why."

  • im on my sons account. i went to nam in 1968. i came back in 1974. when i came off the airplane coming home i was spit at. i was called a baby killer a rapist. many other things. then when i got into a cab to go home i told the guy i just came back nam. he said to so what. i lost my leg for a ungratefull country

  • that's despicable, i'm 17, and I think it's terrible that people would do that to veterans, whether the war was won or lost it doesn't really matter, the men who fought in it (like you) deserve respect and commendation, i for one thank you for your sacrifice

  • It wasn't the protestors that spat on the soldiers, but their country. For the United States did them a great disservice and i am truly sorry that they had to suffer for what was arguably an "illegal war".

  • As with much of the Vietnam War, the news media misreported and misinterpreted the truth. The American media and their undying support-by-misrepresentation of the anti-War movement in the United States caused a different version of US history. The news they reported at the time was all lies and nothing could be further from the truth.

The following is just one of many examples:

  • Myth: Common Belief is that most Vietnam veterans were drafted.

Fact: 2/3 of the men who served in Vietnam were volunteers. 2/3 of the men who served in World War II were drafted. Approximately 70% of those killed in Vietnam were volunteers.

  • why does that have two thumbs down? it's true

  • Because many people are generally assholes. They have been indoctronated into the liberal education system and can't or won't listen to the truth.

  • @FrancescaGianna the percentage does not change the principal. one of the reasons our founded fathers revolted was because Briton could commission men from the U.S for any reason they deemed appropriate to support their empire.

  • @54gamerman i'm very sorry for that sir, thank you for your service.

  • But i must say this is a very well put together and very informational video very very nice job i like how you used facts and not propaganda keep up the good work

  • those gay ass ohi national guards killed them i would kill them with my "m16' lol

  • All you liberals need to realize something you are given the right to protest and free speech protected by those men but as soon as you turn it violent it is their job to calm the situation it was not a massacre ya see those guardsmen and students were the same age they both got scared and it got out of hand sad and they probly should have not shot to kill but how many soldiers have come back from war only to be beaten and humiliated maybe killed by these peace lovers?

  • @MrUSAF2009 "Nobody can give you freedom. Nobody can give you equality or justice or anything. If you're a man, you take it."-- Malcolm X

  • Everyone needs to visit Kent State Campus the May 4th Memorial and stand in the area where students were shot, a very emotional experience for anyone living during the period,

  • Great Job on this video. You made a fellow JMC graduate proud. KSU 94-98. Was there for the 25th anniversary. CSN played on campus.

  • Very well done video.

Thank you so much for sharing your information.

  • Students were in their rights to protest. Constitution allows it. Those fool guardsmen had no right to shoot them and should have been court-martialed for it and jailed for life.

  • it was givernor rhodes fault, he shoul not have sent untrained guardsmen

  • @Zobor111 WOW do you even know what sparked the escalation?

  • Nixon is directly responsible for this massacre. He hated any opposition to his policies and would use any means to silence his critics. Nixon was know for keeping list of his enemies. Nixon used the CIA,FBI and DEA to go after those he viewed as enemies: he went after the media and any reporter who dared to report on or question his tactics, motives or policies, and he did this until the very end. He was king coward!

This would have NEVER happened at Yale!

  • they weren't rioting they were protesting

  • We never had rights to protest. That was a LIE sold to us by the so called "gov",which is really a CORPORATION and we are it's slaves. We are only a PRODUCT to them. Ever notice when you get any kind of mail,be it from your bank, the gov,the post office, your name is spelled out in CAPS.That's because we are a PRODUCT of the Corporation.

  • well done

i was there 39 years ago and will be there monday

    off the pigs

  • one thing this doesn't mention is that one of the students shot was just going to class

  • And he got shot because of the rioters pursing the NG.

  • A shame they didn't shoot more stupid liberals

  • How many tours have you done in Iraq?

  • Usually I'd berate someone for such a comment, but considering the liberals you've got over there...

    ...Fuck, my condolences man.

  • By the way, very nice video.

  • Jerk!

  • thank you

  • kvjhedfbv, your wrong! They were standing up for what they knew was right

  • abused or or not by Communist, Our goverment HAD NO RIGHT TO DO THIS. Hanging should be in order for the murders of these KIDS.

  • This reminds me of these young kids in the US sent to Iraq to spread hatred for Americans and then they were killed by the people they defended.

War protesters provided them with no protection and could careless they are dead now.

Low-life scum uses kids in this manner!

  • Look at the hypocrisy in America!

Liberals attacked Bush for the war in Iraq and now that Obama is the President, Liberal war protesters are nowhere to be found.

    Phonies!

  • Vietnam infantry veteran 1970, sorry this happened!

  • well done

bill reynolds ksu class of 1970

    sds

    viet nam class of 71

  • great video I live right on campass and I'm only 15 but that has had an effect on me since I have lived here my whole life. now that I have some incite I will use this video for referance and to teach dumbasses what realy happened on May4,1970. thank you.

  • Typical Guardsmen. Some cant wait to shoot someone. Too whacked-out assholes in the NG. I quit the fools as they are stupid braindead bastards. I hopo for more riots against the fascist gov.

  • American idot!!!! Really!!!

  • Rioting is foolish. It was wrong they were killed, though.

  • i have a class in taylor hall.. i walk that hill every monday, wednesday, friday....

  • right stuff for the hippies

  • Im doing my A level history coursework, and I was just wondering does anyone know where I could find info about the economic impact of the war on America. I have been looking all over the place thanks

  • First of all, good job! It's nice to see kids reach back and be mindful of the sacrifice our troops & citizens suffered for a war based on a bet. All who returned from Vietnam got a shameful homecoming from the ones who sent them. Agent Orange is still a killer. A little reminder to "toughterrier"...those kids died because they wanted YOU home. Be the "deer hunter" if you like, but not at the cost of Alan Canfora. Anger is not exclusive. Proud you should be. YOU came home, my brother didn't.

  • Those kids died because they were used and abused by Liberals in America to promote Communist genocide around the world.

  • i guess wearing a shirt emblazoned with the word "IDIOT" and an arrow pointing up to your empty head just wasn't enough for you, huh? there are battlefields out there today; why aren't you on one?

  • I do not fight in illegal wars that a lying, criminal President keeps fighting, after he promised to end the wars when he took office.

  • so the Kent State massacre has nothing to do with your foul nonsense? what a surprise! why not just subscribe to the Limbaugh letter instead of cluttering up this board with your rightwing claptrap?

  • First of all, this was no massacre!

Stupid Liberals always think violence is the answer and whine when someone uses the same tactics.

    Boo freaking hoo!

  • Oh, sure: a bunch of people firing guns at another bunch of unarmed people, resulting in 4 dead and another 8 injured (including one paralyzed for life)! This was no masscre? You may not be a Liberal, but that certainly hasn't kept you from being stupid!

  • These hippie thugs were against the war on Communism but they had no problem starting a war in a Democratic Republic.

These are the same morons that voted For Obama.

Now, Obama is going to force kids to serve in the Military.

Liberals create their own problems. Hahahaha

  • Your parents must have been liberals then, because the only problem here is you! now go ahead, write more Ann Coulter nonsense and spell out your laughter, retard!

  • Don't you feel ashamed that 4 kids were used and abused by Liberals to support Communism?

I have a brother that served in Nam and he was pissed that Congress was too cowardly to stand up to Communism!

Now, Obama is implementing Communist policies and they are hurting the global economy.

  • yeah, i feel really ashamed; just another do-nothing 7 year old on that day...i feel more ashamed for you, now so desperate that you've invented a "brother that served in Nam." as i mentioned earlier: i guess wearing a shirt emblazoned with the word "IDIOT" and an arrow pointing up to your empty head just wasn't enough for you, huh? there are battlefields out there today; why aren't you on one?

  • Why weren't all of these anti-war protesters in Ohio protecting these kids? Where were they?

Why weren't these anti-war activists being shot dead? Were they too busy sending young kids in their place to be killed?

    Chickenhawk war protesters!

  • Congratulations on your stupidest post yet! How were "these anti-war protesters" supposed to protect the people being fired on? How would YOU have protected them? And you seem to be the only person on the planet who doesn't know that "anti-war activists" don't send soldiers to war!

You call them "Chickenhawk war protesters?" first, that's an oxymoron and second, what's your answer to the following:

there are battlefields out there today; why aren't you on one?

  • O.K., so you're an "anti-war" protester!

I'm through with you, Mongo; get back on your leash. I don't know if you threw a dart into a board, spun a roulette wheel or what (and I don't care!) but it's obvious that the Kent State Massacre and the anti-war movement of the 60s and 70s means nothing to you-you just want to rant ala Hannazi, O'Reilly and all the other chickenhawk scumbags who make a living selling hatred to hillbillies like yourself. Go play with your imaginary 'Nam vet brother!

  • If anyone knows how to use and abuse it would be our government. Maybe ,just maybe ,the protests saved a few lives.

  • No one knows what it's like to be the Bad Man,The sad man,the look of love, behind blue eyes

  • Absolutely no reason for burning anything.

  • Well done video.

    Thank God for the Hippies!

    God bless them!

  • i wish they had let our guys use flamethrowers in vietnam. yeah, go ahead and hide in that bunker victor. now you gonna feel your face melt.

  • im so bOrEd! msg me! my id is in my youtube profile! J

  • amazing...the idiot morons who are 20 somthing years old..and lie about Kent state..should move to berlin or peking where protest is not allowed...The students there were exercising their right as citiznes to protest the war---an illegal war just like Iraq...and they had the right NOT to get shot..or murdered by other americans protecting the war sickness...No guargdsmen were forced to shoot other ameericans who had the right to protest. Today the silence of the campus---is unamerican.

  • Watch Police State the music video on AmericaFell

  • Thanks for making this video.

    I'm going to vlog it.

    Stu

  • Under what circumstances can ANYONE justify the students being killed? This is a universtity campus in the US, not Tiananmen Square!

  • i completley agree. i don't think we can even justify the killings in tiananmen square

  • protest the imprisonment of real baby killers who think nothing of exploding a bomb to kill innocent women and children and ignore the fact that

you, through your support of oil-based and cheap foreign made products are to blame for this war and the new super power that is china! want to know real facism? try going to beijing with your anti-government establishment crap! I dare you!

    but you won't, cowards!

  • Cambodia not Vietnam came under khmer rouge

control , but yes communism is a cancer

and must be removed at all cost.

  • to the uneducated masses, check your history...the shootings came after several days of uncontrolled violence from so-called "protesters" and other vagrants. rock throwing, property damage, assault, arson and a most unpeaceful assembly, which is not a constitutional right. those soldiers were getting battered by the "peaceniks" with rocks and bottles, ironic isn't it? violent protest to end violence!

    Ironic? or hypocritical?

  • It was a riot. Lots of stealing, things being burned down and National Guardsmen being injuried and being backed into a corner.

  • I was already "home" by the time this shit went down. Didnt hate the protesters then or now- It was a confusing time. I can only speak for myself here, I didnt get the respect I deserved but no-one spit at me either

The pround vet in me will last forever- the hippie I became faded away long ago

  • Mistake- I was "still" home at this time left for duty shortly after this mess

Man, it was a lifetime ago

  • The effects of Kent State are still with us today. We made sure the "military presence" was never too strong in a civilian area. For example, we made sure not to have too strong an Air Force presence at the FAA. The communication between those two was limited. Of course that kinda came back to bite us in the ass on 9/11. Everyone was screaming, "Where were the F-16's to bring down those passenger jets?" Uhhhh, remember? Don't want too much "military" presence.

  • Comparable to the Boston Massacre. Rioters forcing soliders into a corner throwing rocks and the national guard panicked.

  • Truman ignored the recommendaiton of the OSS at the end of WWII to support HO Chi Minh - Truman chose to help the French Frogs try to regain control of their estates and plantations. What the hell do you think would happen. Roosevelt adn Truman - originators of the Viet Nam war. Kennedy, Johnson and MacNamara screwed it up. Nixon was winning while he was pulling out - and the Democrats sold all of us out!

  • Chuck - you have issues! Seen your name on other postings, and you might have seen mine. But, lighten up a little. Let's deal with issues today; the past is gone. While there may be no forgiveness, at least let's move on.

  • Forgive hell - the same crap of the 60's is going on now with the same sell out Democrats behind and in back of the Move On, George Soros "Peace Movement". Time has moved on, but in so many ways the day is still the same. They don't hate the troops - crap - they still do, but cover themselves with platitudess.

  • Yeah to add to it, Ho Chi Minh actually appealed to the US for aid after they won their independence, not the USSr. Their constitution was also modeled after ours. Its hard for me to knowingly say this, but I dont think that North Vietnam had violent intentions toward the US. They just wanted their independence!
