In addition, Article 239 specifically states that any president who proposes the permissibility of reelection "shall cease forthwith" in his duties, and Article 4 provides that any "infraction" of the succession rules constitutes treason. Constitutions are a body of laws made and amended legally by the people through representation. If that's not what you want then what you have there is a religion or a totalitarian dictatorship.

"The constitution may be amended by the National Congress after a two-thirds vote of all its members in two consecutive regular annual sessions." sounds fair

but then it says - it may not be amended

"several articles covering the presidency, including term of office and prohibition from reelection."

these two statements conflict, not to mention leaving the door open for a Putin like government

Keep in mind that the Honduran government, in preparing their constitution, had a history of military governments. That is why they inserted the provision that prohibited change of the presidential succession clause. They wanted to prevent a Hugo Chavez type President, who, by amendment, becomes a lifetime dictator.

Zelaya was planing a coup against the other two powers (Congress and Supreme Court) by becoming an 'elected dictator', he would be the only one capable of producing , reforming and applying laws, Hugo Chavez-like government. Zelaya wanted to destroy the congress, that says it all.
