whats really interesting is the negative commotion towards the new govt, like weve done a damn genocide or something. its understandable, all presidents have been given a warning, from now on they should think twice overrruning rest of the powers. Now Zelaya at age 5o something is living his own private "adventure" while calling for civil war, 3 people had died already, shame on him.
I wish reuters and the AP would stop calling it a fuc---- coup!!!!! My god these people are either idiots or they are communists. GET IT RIGHT PLEASE!!!!!!!!

If you Google "US intervention (any Latin American/Caribbean country)" you will understand who the real Filth is, and why.. Try it and open your eyes to the truth..
@IBERJEN US fund the UN?"The UN is financed from assessed and voluntary contributions from member states" -Wikipedia. Europe contributes more than the US. I don't believe in a God..but i am sure that any God favors good and moral action. Intervention or greedy ambitions to dominate and enslave a country are morally wrong. The US is sucking billions out of the puppet government ruled countries, that they put in power
@IBERJEN 1. Go to Wikipedia and check. Sum up how much % does the EU contribute..US-22% EU- 29,567%+ % EU countries not pointed out..
2. I was talking about morality.. I made an assumption that you are religious(most Americans are). Morality is a part of the evolutionary process of humans. You want to live in the stone age judging from the comment..

Chavistas infiltrados en Honduras no podran crear discordia en el pueblo decente de Honduras.
zelaya is democratic socialist FOR the people, he won fair and square, he never mentioned rewriting the consttution and he would never do so as that would get him kicked out, there isnt even any proof he was going to do that, the referendum was for the people to vote on. u guys don't want democracy, you want a fascist dictator like micheletti to control your population. it's people like you who are the reason the world is so full of hate and oppression. democratic socialism IS the way forward!!!
I agree with tomasbermea and to add to his comment. what is the fear from the vote of the public. ESQUEMA07 stop being a puppet of people that don't care about your futute never the less fro the future of your children. if Zelaya raiced minimum wage wich I may say it was about damn good time and not seen before in 15 years. Then let the man continue doing great things. The corrupts are the ones that got him out Zelaya fights for you and I do respect that of him. and I admire the man Z has balls
Zelaya was incompetent and decided to hitch his wagon to Chavez. Go read the Wall Street Journal opinion page today for a nice recap of the legal situation. This fellow is no hero of the common people. He like Chavez only wants to become the new ruling class.
"He like Chavez only wants to become the new ruling class. " New ruling class????????????? Zelaya is the ruling class, like Lobo, like Micheleti, he had no need to "want to become it" Jesus, God wasted brain cells on you lot man!!!
Viva Zelaya! Para el carajo Hillary.
you are NOT mistaken... he wanted to reform the Constitution in order to become an 'elected dictator', of course, elected is not what you may think (he said that he won the elections by fraud, and that he knows thousands of ways of corrupting the elections.) By the way, the referendum was already arranged, they found out that the papers were already filled in with the 'yes' about the reform. We hondurans did not want it and now he's bitching in Nicaragua.
Amendments to a Constitution are legally allowed, rather than go through the process his opposition had him arrested and tossed out of the country, that's called a coup. You might want to look a little deeper and see who funded that coup.
Not so. The Honduran Constitution may NOT be amended to ever change the rules that limit a president to a single four-year term.
In addition, Article 239 specifically states that any president who proposes the permissibility of reelection "shall cease forthwith" in his duties, and Article 4 provides that any "infraction" of the succession rules constitutes treason. That is why the Honduran Supreme Court ordered the military to remove him.
If you are not allowed to legally amend a Constitution then that is not a Constitution, that is a doctrine.
Constitutions are a body of laws made and amended legally by the people through representation. If that's not what you want then what you have there is a religion or a totalitarian dictatorship.
I read their constitution - but there's a conflict
"The constitution may be amended by the National Congress after a two-thirds vote of all its members in two consecutive regular annual sessions." sounds fair
but then it says - it may not be amended
"several articles covering the presidency, including term of office and prohibition from reelection."
these two statements conflict, not to mention leaving the door open for a Putin like government
Keep in mind that the Honduran government, in preparing their constitution, had a history of military governments. That is why they inserted the provision that prohibited change of the presidential succession clause. They wanted to prevent a Hugo Chavez type President, who, by amendment, becomes a lifetime dictator.
Zelaya was planing a coup against the other two powers (Congress and Supreme Court) by becoming an 'elected dictator', he would be the only one capable of producing , reforming and applying laws, Hugo Chavez-like government. Zelaya wanted to destroy the congress, that says it all.
proof? He fired the chief of the army because he wanted the army to disobey the orders of the Supreme Court and the National Congress, later, he conducted a crowd to recover the confiscated (by the organism in charge of the elections) already-filled-in survey material from the Air Force, with no permission. He made several people become criminals by disobeying the supreme court's orders. He once said that the executive power has to be over the other two powers. Proof.
That says it all....but you could scraped more sense from the sole of your shoe. This "plan" of yours is nothing but scaremongering inventions -OR ARE THERE ANY TRACES OF SUCH A PLAN ON THIS PLANET???

two 4 year terms or one 6 year tearm seems fair
FDR ran and won 4 times in the US and then we changed it to 2.
the irony was they used the military ti oust him rather than just vote no

The army (according to that constitution anyway) must obey the Commander in chief : the President, not the Supreme Court or your auntie's pony.
