Quite possibly Wily's cleverest plan ever. Lasers you just have to step through and take damage from, hoping for energy refills later. Why not put a gauntlet of them that even max energy tanks and 1/2 damage can't save you from?

Is there any easy strategy for beating Wily Machine 9 WITHOUT item-whoring (i.e. without buying 9 E-tanks and 1/2 Damages)? I sunk 3 damn hours into this FUCKING boss and got to the third form about 3 times...

I think the Tornado blower hits from the ground up, so if you time it just right, you can hit Magma man while he's on the ground and then while he's in mid-air too.

@ 4:13 Magma man takes more hits if you use Tornado Blow while he's in the air(I believe the apex of his jump). You can completely kill him, but deplete your tornado blow. Plus, it's hard to master, at 1st, but you can easily beat him, w/o anything. Just time his movements.

Mega Man can't slide in this game. Only Proto Man can, and Wily drops a memory chip from the last robot master you've killed

In that chip, Dr. Wily convinced the robots to help him, so the robots wouldn't go to the junkyard.

You get the chip after you beat the last robot master.

To answer your question on Tornado Blow on Magma Man, my guess is that the tornados actually do damage to him as well.

Let me explain - When you activate Tornado Blow on him, it automatically counts as a hit. But, from what I've seen, the tornados that appear also count as projectiles, so if one hits him after his brief invincibility, there you go, two hits.

Of course, the tornados seem to appear in a random pattern so it's still up to luck somewhat.

Actually, if he is going to jump from the bottom of the arena, and u use Tornado Blow, it will do 2 hits instead of one

It seemed that it was going painfully slow for you in his second form. What you should do, is charge the Magma Bazooka while he is chasing you around trying to stomp, then when he sits, hit him with the charged shot. Then switch back to the mega buster until he tries to stomp you again. Then you can just repeat the process.

Wily's second form is weak against the concrete shot and his last form you should use the plug shot when he's close.

What I found helps against Wily's first form is to not jump when firing at the eggs. They'll always bounce into the mech's mouth.

The concrete shot works wonders on the second part of the final boss and the plug ball is the weakness for the last part.

Nice job, that half damage item does seem to make it easier and you played well, I still haven't beaten the game yet, probably choke somewhere in the wily levels, probably the 3rd one >_>
