Glad to see your video as I have the same radio. Why not just program two adjacent memories, one in each band? Turning the channel knob is one step between memories. (I haven't worked sat before, just had a tutorial, so I may be missing something).
Nice video. Got an Arrow this week and first time out got three QSLs on S0-50 including AA5PK. I'm using a tripod, too. I'll listen for you on the air from grid DN13wn.
Usually, the exchange is only the Callsign and the maidenhead gridsquare, which tells you where you are based on latitude. Sometimes you give a signal report, but i've only heard foreign contacts do that.
Very nice! Wouldn't a tripod make it easier? Also satellite work is too complex for me haha, don't even know how to work the software!! :o, all I want to do is to make a contact to NA1SS, Im just waiting for a crew to get on board, figure out how to crossband on my radio, wait for an overpass and cross my finger :D 73s ke5rrh
A tripod is coming soon...the one I had was being used for the camera, but is way too weak for the antenna. I don't know where you got complex from...all I had was an HT and an antenna hihi! I also want to contact the ISS, but I haven't been keeping up with the passes.
I don't know if you can do it on an IC-T7H, but I have my FT-60R configured so that the satellites are in memory. I have the memory assigned so it's a "non-standard" offset, TX on 2M, RX on 70cm. I also have about 5 memories per satellite to account for doppler shift.
Actually, it works pretty well using just the band button. Doppler can be compensated by adjusting frequency as needed---easily done without memories because the radio is already in vfo mode. The only problem is hitting the button to switch back and forth.
Oh yeah, it hurt. I ended up holding the antenna by the shaft and pivoting it on my stomach. This provided much needed relief. I'm planning on making a stand for it.
It's "73," not "73's." That's like saying Good Wisheses.

What particular arrow antenna was that that you was using in you video? and whats the cost of it?
and you got me hooked on it now big time, and would it be better to use 2 ht,s when doing this?
and thank you very much for your video it inspired me to do uhf/vhf sat work.

My Icom T90A allows me to split the VFOs so I can transmit on one and receive on the other. The setting is on the Ext 2 config set.

Nice job - 'arm strong' rotator - changing antenna polarity to max the signal - *AND* changing bands at the same time? FB OM ! LOL

Nice contacts, but how's your hand? Must hurt to keep the antena in that position for a very long time, hi.Cheers!
