Slaughtering of horses is not new, animals have been butchered for thousands of years, and is a way to make sure that the animal is not wasted, if you or some on you know takes birth controle pills, they either came from a soy based sorce, or a "pee line" ie pregnent horse piss. lot's of pregnent horses=even more horses. very little butchered horse meat in north america ends up for humans to eat, most ends up in pet food. Oh by the way horse meat is way healther then beef.

The unintended consequence of banning horse slaughter is that it eliminated the relief valve for unwanted horses. While it looks evil and cruel in these short clips whats worse instant death or starving to death for weeks because the owner can't afford to feed it or letting it loose( its happening) into the wild to suffer. Anather thing now they are trucking these horses thousands of miles to Canada or Mexico what is worse a 3000 mile truck ride or instant death?

Most animals who are 'pet' or draught, have to be killed one day. This is the relatively painless way to do it. There will always be people who torture animals anywhere, so choosing to end there life which has to be, they cannot life just anywhere and everywhere, someone has to pay. The people who were paying for a long time run out of money, had other priorities, so they get knocked out and the rest the feel not.

There is not enough people adopting mustangs. I have adopted a mustang and he is the best thing in the world. I trust that horse with my life. He has more personality and keener instincts than any one of my horses. He is incredibly protective over me as am I over him. He competes in Dressage, Horse shows, and rodeos and is incredibly versatile. Their slaughter can only be stopped if more and more people adopt to save them from that. Just to point out for those who are against the racing industry, not all breeders and trainers are heartless. My mum's horse Buster ( I have a video of him on my page) is a standerdbred. He did harness racing and had an accident, because of his personality and the type of the person the owner was he couldn't send him to the horse slaughter and instead sold him to a riding school.

i have been working with the equine rescues in the midwest. a sad fact,but humaneSlaughterHouses are here for a reason. since the ban there have been a flood of neglect/abuse cases so large the rescues cant keep up! 4 a vet 2 put a horse down costs up to$700.00 so people would rather let horses starve or die of neglect to diese. there are only 2-4 rescues per state. as much as we would like to take these horses home and help them, we cant. really we need more slaughter humane, and more rescues

Its just sick. One of the horse's got sold to a man and after we let him have him we realised he was a horse slaughter and he killed the horse, when i got told i was crying. i agree with KaneCyber why is it horses get slaughtered? why can any of you meen slaughters tell me please!!! TELLL MEEEE

The Mexicans stab horses in the spinal cord till they fall. They are fully awake and have sensation while being butchered.

My horse I had known since she was a day old and would've been sold to slaughter if I hadn't begged my dad. She is a wonderful horse. A sad thing is, there were paints in there that have markings that we'll never see again and more than that, their love. :( *Kicks door in madness*

Find out the name of the representative in Congress for your state. Write letters, get petitions signed & send them, call their offices. Do anything to get their attention. It is the only hope of stopping the export to Canada and Mexico for this. Besides the slaughter itself is the cruel transport to get them there. Check out the videos on YouTube about it.
