No, it's a separate fee. You can play an mmo on xbox360 with silver memb. but theres still the game itself to pay for. So you don't have to have xbox360 gold memb to play. ;)
im pretty sure it'll be like final fantasy XI probably faster but on those leagues may be about WoW speed which is really fun actually i have played both FFXI and WoW and I cant wait for FFXIV and bring back my taru taru black mage :P oh and im sure the will charge a fee they still do with FFXI and they wouldnt stop doing it not only they get lots and lots of money, it also keeps the game updated and balanced as well as the servers

First off, FFXI was a HORRIBLE game so i will not be excited for this in the least unless i see gameplay and it is completely overhauled. Watching a few cut scenes from a sequel to a game i wasted a thousand hours of my life playing is as underwhelming for me as possible.
this game will need 3 things to be worth it in my book
1. Voice communication
2. Faster game play with shorter grind and time whoring battles
3. More cohesive story that progresses faster and less cookie cutter classes

You see I totally disagree with you. FFXI was an awesome game, and one of its kind when it came to console-meets-PC gaming.
The game play was in no way perfect, and the controls were static and non-configurable, however, the actual game, story progression, EXPing, determined how good a player was, as these fights actually took skill. In my 'thousand hours of playing' I met a ton of awesome friends.

I do see where you are coming from, when I first got into FFXI, grinding wasn't exactly something I was accustomed to. I don't see the whole 'grinding' thing in WoW, I was a 70 hunter in 2 weeks. I am hoping this new FF MMO will be awesome!

I would agree a bit on the Skill aspect of the game because skill chaining required knowledge and timing, but literally an infant could accomplish it with a little practice, it just required i would say possibly more skill than a game like Wow, which basically requires reading a faq to learn how your class should be played. Regardless of whether they can afford to or not, they may be doing so. The only confirmed platforms at the moment are the PlayStation 3 and the PC, although developers state that they are "considering all options". Perhaps it will be ported later, but it is only a year or so from release...it seems unlikely that they would still be "considering" if it was a strong option. Just my opinion.
As for the "best console online" experience, as a mature adult, I can barely stand it.

Lately I've been considering quitting FFXI, and I think this game has made me much more inclined to do that. I think the only question now is whether I'll wait until this is released to quit, or just quit now. In return for your monthly payment you get in game suppourt and new content released in patches, This is the reason mmos are alot longer lasting than any single payment games.

ffxi charged you $1 per character after your first one and limited bag space meant you pretty much needed a mule to hold your shit.
Back when I played it cost more to have an FFXI account with ONE character than it did to have a wow account with tons of characters across servers.
They also had a minigame called tetramaster which was not free.

Regardless of whether they can afford to or not, they may be doing so. The only confirmed platforms at the moment are the PlayStation 3 and the PC, although developers state that they are "considering all options". Perhaps it will be ported later, but it is only a year or so from release...it seems unlikely that they would still be "considering" if it was a strong option. Just my opinion.
As for the "best console online" experience, as a mature adult, I can barely stand it.

I don't know about that Zaku. While immaturity is prevalent amongst many of WoW's community circles, it takes a lot of planning and leadership skill to run and manage the guild's in WoW. It also takes a considerable amount of patience and planning to even build a successful character in the game. For these reasons I quit, given I don't feel like not having a life for a fee of 15 dollars a month. It's one thing to dislike WoW, it's another to discredit it so ignorantly as you have.

I still not exactly hype about this game until I get more info. I'm especially not gonna be happy if just like FFXI.....
1. No access to real pvp (not ballista)
2. Has the community forcing you to use certain subs with certain mains
3. Not solo friendly
4. Won't add any new races.
5. Make another weak Holy spell when it should of been a ancient spell in the first place.
Either way I really want to see gameplay for this game real soon. Let see if it will be able to get me off of Aion.

I don't see almost nothing new yet, until they told me something REALLY different, then yes, so far I said no. This one is just FFXI with updated graphics and changed the story, all the rest seems to be the very same, I bet lving up will be as evil as FFXI was at start, as making money, and all that crap, including making parties, even more on quest/missions and some different gears. Uhm, read IGN's new question session with Square. They say there MAY be a FEW of the same jobs and races. Not only that, leveling up is done COMPLETELY different this go around and involves weapons to some degree.

They've stated that some similarities will remain so players will feel comfortable starting anew on some character. It never states they are the exact same with changes as you said. Even so, the same with changes means they aren't the same, doesn't it.
Given the rennovation of the combat and xp systems how could they be exact? Doesn't make sense.
I'm sure jobs are set for certain purposes..but that's like hating a shooter becuase guns shoot in a linear path.

I refuse to pay 50 dollars for a game that I have to continually pay to play. The idea is pathetic. They make more than enough money to make it free to play online, but they gouge our wallets when we have to pay to play.
