We need a congressman or women with enough balls to address the issue.

They are all so fucking scared of loosing out on the election they there afraid to really address it.. its sad. lets only abbey by the constitution when its "Convenient"..

see the thing about marijuana legalization and drugs in general is that it doesnt matter what it does to you good or bad, how can we live in a so called free country where they can control what we can and cant put in our bodies its ridiculous, as long as it isnt harming others we should be able to do whatever we want.

Sure seems like the Government would rather have its people get addicted to their drugs, rather than ours. Opiates such as oxy, hydro, morphine, vicodin, etc. will all kill you if your take to much. How much weed do you have to smoke to die?

Absolutely correct! The pharmaceutical industry doesn't want cannabis re-legalized because it would then be used as a medicine on a far more wide scale, and people would suddenly STOP dying of cancer and getting diabetes and many other ailments. If this were to happen, pharmaceutical companies' profits would sharply decline, as would health care costs, since less peopple would have need of medical services outside of normal aging, accidents, genetic defects and other unavoidable health issues.

marijuana doesn't cure cancer or diabetes.marijuana can help with symptoms such as nausea, however there are other drugs that prove to provide better relief for the same symptoms. Also, if I'm not mistaken smoking anything with chemicals in it will cause cancer and this includes marijuana. marijuana also effects reaction time and hand eye coordination so I am unsure how this will decrease traffic accidents.

@amymarietrail Cannabis has been shown to reduce cancer rates in smokers. Cannabis-only smokers have been proven to have a reduced risk over either tobacco smokers or complete non-smokers.

Cannabis CAN cure cancer, and I suggest that you google "Run From The Cure" and learn a little non-propaganda.

Chemicals are not added to cannabis, it simply contains naturally produced compounds that just happen to work on the human endcocannabinoid system in many and beneficial ways.

@amymarietrail As to hand-eye coordination, cannabis has surpisingly little effect, and in long-term cannabis users, the effects are negligible. Since it is a known fact (outside political circles, anyway) that cannabis users have been on our roads ever since we got cars, and yet there are still ZERO confirmed accidents where the at-fault driver had nothing but cannabis in their system, this should provide you with your answer.

@TheRealElectroPig "nothing but cannabis" is accurate, however cannabis enhances the effects of alcohol, which is an issue that must be addressed. Not to mention marijuana has been linked to learning and memory issues as well as schizophrenia. While I do not consider marijuana to be as harmful as alcohol or other drugs this does not mean that it is completely safe.

@stubbs4434 All tests done to date have shown that it is not possible for a human being to EVER injest enough cannabis to cause death due to cannabis compounds.

The LD-50 rating has been set at "30,000 to 40,000", meaning that a standard dosage of one gram would require you to smoke 30-40,000 grams, over 15-minutes. That's over 88 POUNDS of cannabis...where would you find the papers?

At $2500.00 a pound, that "still non-toxic joint" would also cost you $220,000.00!

The number of people that think marijuana should be decriminalized or legalized has risen sharply since the Attorney General announced the change of policy on medical marijuana,but he has failed to give any clarification or guidelines,nor has he rescheduled marijuana out of Schedule I. It has been 6 months since his announcement,and no action.

In order for the US to have a medical marijuana policy,it must reschedule marijuana into a class that recognizes that it is medicine.

You're exactly right, and looked at logically, since the US Government registered at least one medical patent over a decade ago, it should have happened then.

The only reason that this has not yet occurred is that the US government has learned how to monetize prisoners into "mortgage-backed securities" which can be traded on the stock market...yes, they DO make money by keeping peopple in prison!

Explains quite a lot about why problems never seem to get fixed, doesn't it?

@TheClaygooding Actually, if you were to Google "US Patent #6630507" you'll see that the US Government has registered a MEDICAL USE PATENT ON CANNABIS, thereby proving absolutely that cannabis DOES have medical uses, and that all prosecutions since that time have been not only false, but hypocritical.

They're only holding back a repeal on cannabis/hemp prohibition until they can find a way to profit from it...once they've figured that out, it'll be legal, and horribly overtaxed like everything!

If they first legalize, and then find workable ways to steal money from the public for no real purpose (i.e: taxation) such as with alcohol, it will end up working in much the same way.

Those who want to grow their own will, and the vast majority will find what they want/need through legitimate channels that will be established to replace the criminal supply chains that currently exist in a 100% tax-free underground economy.

Savings in police, court and prisons would just be side-benefits.

EXACTLY right! This is what is happening today in Canada due to excessive taxation of tobacco products. They tax things so much that an underground econom is created SOLELY to bypass the excesive amounts of taxation--currently 800 to 1200% on Canadian tobacco products!!!

Funny thing is, the government imposes these excessive taxes and seem to be genuinely surprised when the problems they created actually develop...even though they've done the exact same thing before, & KNOW what to expect!

And it seems that the vast majority of peopple calculated to be "addicted" to anything (i.e: "under treatment for addiction") were placed into "treatment" due to court order.

How many "criminal courts" do you know of that have been medically trained to diagnose addiction?

The legal system is artificially inflating their "success figures" to show that they are doing things that they are not, namely, benefitting society through prohibition.

They more control they take, the more they WANT!

This is actually quite funny...I know of one in my neighbourhood, and I know of one long-time bootlegger in the area who retired a few years back. The long-time bootlegger sold liquor by the bottle and beer by the case, and strangely enough, he ALWAYS asked for ID.

There is a reason that Al Capone made so much money as a "criminal" back in the days of alcohol prohibition...and the same thing has been happening for the last 70 years with "drug prohibition".

The course was known well in advance of it's being set....the governments of the world are not desgned to work, they are designed to fail, and to take everything they can from the people while they run themselves into the ground.
