Don't suppose anyone knows whether there's going to be a Ninja Gaiden 3 for the XBox 360? Didn't really like Ninja Gaiden Sigma on PS3 :\, NG2 was virtually perfect apart from the ocassionally dodgy camera angles and the very loose narrative.
Hey there, I heard something about that, they're already produce ninja gaiden 3, it should release for xbox 360 and ps3 at the same time :) but Tomonubi Itagaki doesn't help to create this game, don't know why and I'm not sure if that's even true but I read that somewhere !!
@chhrriissss he wont be making 3 he left to create valhalla games and is working on his new mayhem of a game called devils third but dont let that deter you away from number 3 which focuses more on who ryu is, the unmasking of a legend begins in 2012.
@greendagger87 Actually the it was about bonuses. And they were promised to Itakagi once Dead or Alive 4 or Ninja gaiden 2 was made (Can't remember which). And he never got them so he left after Ninja Gaiden 2.
Best part about this game, is when your going up the huge, long stairway and enimies start pouring out of nowhere, and the game starts to lag cause theres so many, only for you to start hack 'n' slashing your way through them.

I personally liked NG1 better than NG2. The magic in NG1 was lost somewhere in NG2 I mainly think it was the story cause I think the game designers mainly counted on gameplay value rather than story. The story was okay but it didn't come close to NG1 plus most things were taken from NG1 like the ending. The CGI cutscenes should've been left in and not used as in game graphics cause the cutscenes in NG1 blew my mind!

It basically didn't feel as important when you were playing it in my opinion.Like in NG1 you killed to avenge your clan and reclame the Dark Dragon Blade and each boss battle meant something like Doku and Alma. But in NG2 it was just pretty much kill this and that fiend so you can proceed on to kill the bigger fiend. Plus I thought the fiends were finished after NG1 cause the Emperor died.

@WYJAFAK2 I know this is 4 months too late, but I thought I should let you know that the reason there are still fiends around is because there are different sects of fiends. The archfiend you fight at the end of the NG2 was born from the Emperor's body. If you notice, the fiends you fight in NG2 are completely different from the ones in NG1. In my opinion, The Emperor's Sect seems stronger.
Also the story was cheesy, like why is the CIA involved in a game with monsters and demons. It doesn't really fit in right. It wasn't really the CIA much either just one girl sent to stop them lol. Yeah like i said most plot was taken from NG1 like the people raidiing the village for soemthing and the village burn then Ryu takes revenge and, again, he uses the Eye of the Dragon. The game was great but most of it was all "been there, done that" and just killing for the sake of killing.

It is a bit easier than the Xbox version. But I love how they made the bow-controls better in the Sigma 2. Plus extra stages and new enemy placements made the game more interesting. :)

@JIX9ISLER1986 OK, I worded that poorly. Yes Sigma 2 has a higher resolution, but at the cost of detail, and number of things on the screen. Case in point, try playing the swamp stage on both Xbox 360 and PS3.
There was an entire rebalancing for Sigma 2, fewer enemies, lower detail, for the benefit of better lighting and higher resolution. This in turn, toned down the difficulty of the game, and made the game, as noted by pretty much everybody, look poorer than it's xbox counterpart.
@JIX9ISLER1986 To be fair, I have both consoles, and I enjoy both. Currently bossing out in Dark Souls (More challenging than Sigma 2, less than NG2, but entirely different playstyle)
If you haven't tried it yet, I do recommend it for PS3, as Xbox version is host to a whole plethora of problems, majority being the death of framerate whenever the player is indoors.
For those who are saying that Team Ninja or no more, that's not true. Just that Tomonobu Itagaki left Team Ninja. Not only does Team Ninja still exist, but they're remaking this game for the PS3 and it'll be out this fall.
The thing about the PS3 version having 2 players is that's a caveat for omitting several levels due to Team Ninja using DirectX9 all over the place. Itagaki even said that there shouldn't have been a PS3 version - it lacks the VRAM necessary to keep the game running at full speed. Which is a fancy way of saying, "I wonder how much slowdown there's gonna be in 2-player..."
Really? Do you knwo if you can do it online? It would probably be really hard to find someone else with the skill for ninja gaiden AND has a PS3 to play with otherwise.
i love the ninja gaiden series i have completed everey one on master ninja difficulty, i love it, best game ever made. btw before any of you say, yes i do have a social life and am not a game freak.
Tecmo, which owns the division Team Ninja, is nearly bankrupt, and is being sued for back pay by employees, and Itagaki is suing because he did not get a huge bonus promissed to him by the CEO for his games selling very well. Itagaki and many of his crew have left Tecmo permenantly, so no more Team Ninja, and no more Ninja Gaiden, as Itagaki does NOT own the copyright for Ryu Hayabusa, Ninja Gaiden, etc.
Why the hell did two people give me a thumbs down?! I love Ninja Gaiden, and what I said is true: It's on GameSpot. Itagaki and other former employees are suing Tecmo for back pay amoung other things. Look it up before assuming I am lying.
Ninja Gaiden 2 isn't as hard as Ninja Gaiden 1 now u can do OTs which kill enemies faster. Also you can hit bosses directly and do UTs on them. You can't do that in NG. Plus NGB on hard is Mentor x10 in NG2
the first ninja gaiden was a little more difficult. it had more puzzles(which were too hard at times)and is much tougher, there wasn't any "auto-healing" or saving the games at the start of a boss fight.Don't get me wrong, it's an awesome game, but if you can beat NG1 or NGB, this game is too easy.ng1 had more strategy and critical thinking situations(maps,puzzles)ng II is basically one main path, just get from point A to point B
On the higher difficulties, shit gets real. Enemies do more damage, you do less damage. You get less healing herbs, and less talismans. Also, the enemies that you saw late into the game on the earlier levels now come much earlier. Instead of getting regular ninjas, you get explosive shuriken ninjas or undead ninjas. Also, the rocket-pod ninjas are everywhere. Basically,it's really really hard.
The first Ninja Gaiden was difficult, but this one is so hard it sometimes feels cheap.
The puzzles may be hard... the first go. After you beat the game once, the two or three puzzles are just a minor nuance, nothing too hard. Now, path of the master is consistently mind-raping hard...
I didn't find it hard. I didn't even get the "Die 100 times" achievement after beating the game twice. Now NES and some 16-bit games... they can tare you a new one. Games just were alot harder back in the days.
it's one of the hardest games made. takes a lot of time, but it's beatable. i quit it when i was like 10, picked it up at 17, when i was majorly into gaming, then finally beat it.

Tecmo, which owns the division Team Ninja, is nearly bankrupt, and is being sued for back pay by employees, and Itagaki is suing because he did not get a huge bonus promissed to him by the CEO for his games selling very well. Itagaki and many of his crew have left Tecmo permenantly, so no more Team Ninja, and no more Ninja Gaiden, as Itagaki does NOT own the copyright for Ryu Hayabusa, Ninja Gaiden, etc.
It sucks, I know.

Why the hell did two people give me a thumbs down?! I love Ninja Gaiden, and what I said is true: It's on GameSpot. Itagaki and other former employees are suing Tecmo for back pay amoung other things. Look it up before assuming I am lying.

I think Ninja Gaiden 2 is harder. Try playing it on Mentor or even Master Ninja. Insane as fuck!

I know right! Acolyte and Warrior are easy as Ninja Dog but once you get to play on Mentor the TAC and the IS ninjas DO NOT PLAY!

Ninja Gaiden 2 isn't as hard as Ninja Gaiden 1 now u can do OTs which kill enemies faster. Also you can hit bosses directly and do UTs on them. You can't do that in NG. Plus NGB on hard is Mentor x10 in NG2

Have you even attempted path of the master? i'm pretty sure ninja gaiden 2 is harder if youre including the two unlockable diffuculties

the first ninja gaiden was a little more difficult. it had more puzzles(which were too hard at times)and is much tougher, there wasn't any "auto-healing" or saving the games at the start of a boss fight.Don't get me wrong, it's an awesome game, but if you can beat NG1 or NGB, this game is too easy.ng1 had more strategy and critical thinking situations(maps,puzzles)ng II is basically one main path, just get from point A to point B

Ninja Gaiden 2 is just easier on the easier on the easy difficulties and harder on the hard difficulties.
Play NG2 above path of the warrior and you'll see. And yeah I miss those puzzles.

On the higher difficulties, shit gets real. Enemies do more damage, you do less damage. You get less healing herbs, and less talismans. Also, the enemies that you saw late into the game on the earlier levels now come much earlier. Instead of getting regular ninjas, you get explosive shuriken ninjas or undead ninjas. Also, the rocket-pod ninjas are everywhere. Basically,it's really really hard.
The first Ninja Gaiden was difficult, but this one is so hard it sometimes feels cheap.

The puzzles may be hard... the first go. After you beat the game once, the two or three puzzles are just a minor nuance, nothing too hard. Now, path of the master is consistently mind-raping hard...

I didn't find it hard. I didn't even get the "Die 100 times" achievement after beating the game twice. Now NES and some 16-bit games... they can tare you a new one. Games just were alot harder back in the days.

As a child of the 80s who had NG 1 on the NES and NG 1 and 2 for the XBOX+XBOX 360, I agree.
I tried beating NG 1 in the arcade machine, and was STILL stuck on the part I quit at when I was 11! I can at least BEAT the newer NG games!
I still have not beaten NG1 on the NES to this day!

it's one of the hardest games made. takes a lot of time, but it's beatable. i quit it when i was like 10, picked it up at 17, when i was majorly into gaming, then finally beat it.
