I remember when a gang of minority kids chased two white brothers through the suburbs of Philadelphia. White housewives called in, many of them, black women answered and told the women things like, "I'll tell YOU when you need police!" and hung up on them. This happened several times, all with different women. The older brother helped the younger over a fence, and was caught and beaten to death. The operators were fired- then claimed racism and were rehired. A law is needed to protect callers.

It should be illegal for the operator to hang up on you. Also from what I've heard, as an operator if somebody is upset, you're supposed to calm them down. He wasn't doing his job correctly and should be fired immediately.
