  • Rage didn't tour that much, so they in comparison to other bands even remotely as big as them, made little money. In fact, they played around 300 gigs according to tim commerford in their entire existence. You know that most big bands play that amount in a year and a half. Concerts cost a lot, they did a number of benefit concerts too where the net result went to others. If they were truly after the money, they could've easily secured their future for live long ago, but they didn't

  • yes, but when you're as big as rage, that adds up to quite a lot. and if you're a smaller band, you're going to need all the money you can get. example: say you're holding down two average desk jobs. one represents gigs, one represents cds. so in one of these jobs you're getting charged no tax, and in the other one, you're working just as hard, and having 95% of your wages taken for tax. is that a fair deal? would you keep doing the second job? like fuck you would.
