  • Hollis is rippin'!! During my playing days, I used to study him quite a bit - quite the inspiration. Man, anyway to get the rest of his solo improv on Youtube? He was just getting started!!

  • damn that was one badd azz horn player

  • Thanks for the upload dude!!!

  • Hollis Gentry on Tenor Saxophone....

    RIP

This cat could really blow,,,he is sorely missed by us horn players....

  • Ah, Larry on a Les Paul Special.. this is probably the best blues playing I've heard from Larry!

  • The best thing about his way of playing is that you can feel that jazzy run coming up, but he always surprises you with where he brings it in.

  • Brilliant - but as great as Larry's guitar playing is, you have to take your hat off to the man for putting down such an amazing solo in HIS own band and then stepping back and allowing that phenomenal sax player to chorus away and really make his mark - a musician's musician and a true gentleman to boot!!! Larry knows how good he is - how could he not? - but no ego issues!!!! Outstanding!!

  • what an awesome tone, probably the best damn fucking tone Ive ever heard for blues. I love this guy

  • Larry is awesome, so tasteful! As far as guitarists that can play with such incredible technique try Brent Mason. He can play it all with the best of them, jazz, country, blues, rock...

  • Man Larry's entire group is incredible. That saxophonist is amazing and of course Larry is off the charts as always.

  • Larry is so unique a player,, can anyone bring up a name of any other guitarist that can play with such incredible technique? Other than Robben Ford?

  • steve lukather's up there too. there are some videos of carlton and lukather playin together which is pretty amazing

  • hmmm if we're talking about technical ability i'd have to through guys like Johhny A and Brent Mason in there
