Honestly.. I would rather be a so so pro that's doing a LOT for skateboading than a super good AM... Rob might not be super good.. But he's one of the great skate pioneers of today... He helps skating without being super good. And he's not trying to stay in the game, he's helping progress it. Sometimes it's not about how good you are in skating but what you can do for it... Plus when Rob went pro, skater wasn't doing the things they do now. Skating had progressed a lot since then.

Trying to get skating to become something that anybody can do without getting messed with by the laws. He wants to make it to where parents won't look down on their kids just wanting to skate.

@897667 He can't do for himself as well? What he wants for skateboarding is things like the freedom to skate... And making contest skating a different experience... He prob wouldn't be able to do much for skating with no money.. He gotta make sure he got good money to keep doing business with ppl like Carl Jr. to make more skate parks... A shit load of money is not what i was talking bout... Even though he did help with the street league which paid some skaters good.. Skating doesn't need money.

@897667 I'm not talking bout his money though... I'm talking bout his motivation to make skating more safe and legal... He really don't need money for that.. But his money has helped him get with other companies to help build those skate parks... But i guess it depends on what you think the biggest prob of skating is.. I think it's the fact that you can't skate anywhere without getting fuck with by laws or something. anybody that helps with that is cool with me.

rob dyrdek, while not the best pro, and i agree this is not a good representation of his calibre of skater, he was given like 2 moths to shoot this, and is not 100% focused on the act of riding a skateboard. he is so wrapped up in so many other ventures furthering skating and expanding the avenues for this sport to take. dont judge Dyrdek based on this part.

To tell you the truth, I think its WAAAY better to be a super-good AM rather than a so-so Pro who's just tryin to stay in the game. There are Am's getting shoe deals, wheels and boards, and there's no pressure of the "pro" title. Speaking of Pro titles, is Torey Pudwill pro yet?!?!
