  • ice cube wrote this song

  • Love the way that Eazy "borrowed" the last few lines for 8 ball xP and in Eazy duz it come to think of it...

Ahh no matter, it's a great song, influenced by a good song, that in turn influenced more great songs!

  • basically when NWA formed, which is dre ice cube and ez e, they created gangsta rap, and cube was the writer/rapper, dre was the beat maker, and eazy e was the money supplier. they were rawr, they were straight up gangstas and they rapped about it. so nasty and original.

  • @misterguy100 eazy wrote alot of his shit actually....but everything else is right

  • @drubekalb ahh cool. didnt know that ez e did. thx.

  • @drubekalb not really ice cube and dr.dre wrote most of nwa stuff

  • CHEAH, They gave Ice Cube and C.I.A. a shout out!!!!

  • This is the Jam! Straight up L.A. anthem back then

  • Used to love this song - yea it was written by cube

  • is it true that it was written by ice cube?

  • Ice Cube did the writing of this song!

  • I Was 7 When We Would Bump This On Our Boom Boxes (A.K.A. Ghetto Blasters!!)

  • Spelled Cabbage Patch.

Run Dmc also sampled the Bells.

    Gucci Crew couldnt step.

    Live Music right here.

  • the sound of the bells got stolen from Run DMC... and a lottta other stuff in dis track too...

  • @DerAhlke9877 stolen from run dmc? youre obviously white LOL

  • @DerAhlke9877 Cool J.

  • @DerAhlke9877 1st. It's called a sample and it's not stealing. Bob James - Take Me To The Mardi Gras

2nd. Run DMC may have sampled Mardi Gras but so did a bunch of people because it's a sick break. Learn your history kid.

  • @DerAhlke9877 piss off, it's call'd sample bitch.

  • Listen to The cabbage Patch by Gucci Crew II, way better. But those guys are nowhere and the DR. is well you know

  • when i was a kid i remember my older cousins talking about a dance move called the 'cabbage patch'! hahaha nice. i have't a clue what the move looked like though...

  • Electro-hop at its finest

  • Well.. Blimey! How olds dre again?

  • The beat sounds exactly like Peter Piper by Run DMC

  • not bad..not bad

  • fuack lil wayne, soulja boy and all that crap. WCWC is da shiat biatch

  • this type of hip hop will be back soon... everything goes full circle.

  • @TheArsenalguru hope you are sayin the truth man

  • @TheArsenalguru yeah but do u really think all the shit musicians of today are really gona be able to make this old kinda stuff just as good today?

  • @koolkane93 of course not , but everything does go full circle, and we will see"jump in" collabs like these again.

this style is the roots of hip hop, and when things get stale, it just takes a big artist, and a lotta PR pushing to get the ball rolling again.

  • @TheArsenalguru you sure bout that?

  • @ffatnacho no

  • Haha...I feel like a kid again hearin' this.

  • make way for real muthaphukkin g's!

  • This was wrote by Ice Cube and Dr Dre when Cube was 15 years old . And it was before Dre joined together with World Class Wreckin' Cru .

  • wow, i never heard this before, they didnt play this in New York back then, sounds alot like Run DMC

  • the wop is a classic. if you couldnt do it then you had no rhythm. when somebogy does the cabbage patch its usually by way of joke or parody.

  • Lovely stuff!

  • This song is pretty good.

  • If you ignore their outfits this actually pretty good for that era

  • all that stuff will be coming back soon.

  • Ive seen this cd at F.Y.E last month for 4$

  • I'd like to see the DR doing the cabbage patch dance, is there a video? LMAO

"World Class" is my favourite from this group, this is a good party rocker tho even if its not very Gangsta

  • pretty damn good

  • I think this is at wrong speed, sounds sped-up

  • no it's not RUN DMC "Peter Piper", it's not Beastie Boys - "Hold it Now, Hit It", it's not Eric B and Rakim - "Don't Sweat the Technique, it's not LL Cool J - "Rock the Bells", it's not Naughty by Nature - "Let the Ho's Go", it's not Public Enemy - "1 Million Bottlebags", it's not Terminator X - "Ain't Got Nuttin'" or any other Hip Hop Song you rememberthey all used a sample from Bob James "take me to the Mardi Gras", a 1975 Jazz Funk Song.. learn your History, befor you start complaining

  • damn right

  • @Iluvatar013 Can you stop name dropping? Shm. -___________-

  • At that time and for so many years before so many young homies was either moving to LA from NY or vice versa that the sound was evolving at the same time..If you were not one of those people, keep your mouth shut and ask somebody older who knows whats up.The styles coming from the Bronx and from LA were different of course ,but came from the same pool of Soul,RB,Funk,Disco.Stop the madness we're all from the same gang!!

  • really reminds me of the beastie boys song "brass monkey" almost identical haha. same time era, the forming of modern hip hop and rap music.

  • this is run dmc's beat peter piper

  • yeah nwa rapped over some beastie boys instrumentals

  • This is the best shit ever!

  • the whole hh-culture is from the east, so what? west kickz azz

  • fuck south, fuck lil wayne, fuck the trends, fuck east, fuck boom bap, ol'skool electro rulz!

  • fuck you narrow minded fuck

  • naaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy

  • Damn! I'm so happy to hear this song! I haven't heard this song since I was 4. Yes, I remember my uncles bumping this when I was 4. I was fortunate enough to remember KDAY back then.

  • yup KDAY was the shyt back in the day!

  • classic jonit!!

  • dude what is up with that background in this cover of an album on the vid. anyone?

  • LOL Dre still had the beats back then.

  • did he invent this dance?

  • yea dr.dre did

  • dang this song is waaaay better than the soulja boy

  • Bet the cabbage pack looks better than that soulja boi dance

  • You never seen the cabbage patch?

  • nah man. i get the feeling ya'll got new dances every year. We had some dnaces over here but it's nothing like ya'll doin it.

maybe u can do it and show it here

  • I LIKE PHAT GIRLZ!!!!!!

  • but phat girlz don't like you!)

  • this is cool i like it so much. But can i do the running man with the cabbage patch...thats all i got :)

  • Even tho eazy diss dre about this but i bet at that time, this shit was dope.

  • @majingangsta it was mad dope back in the day, you have to remember that back in those days shit was different, black people had skateboards and did graffiti and techno was the black man's music, so that just goes to show how shit changed.

  • @majingangsta Yes it was. And all the dances he mentions were real (plus a dozen more) and every kid in the country knew them...without the internet.

  • @majingangsta no it wasnt.nobody really did it seriously.Atleast in nyc it was a huge joke thing.

  • @blaztradiouz666 disagree

  • Ice Cube a member of the C.I.A around this period who was friends with Dre co-wrote one of the songs on the album together called Cabbage Patch. Dre would return the favour to Ice Cube in producing the C.I.A album My Posse and together performed dirty raps together on the underground club scene which helped to get them the attention of Eazy E.
