the eagles were a very bad team before Reid took over as coach, however to answer your question a few years ago (this team is on the decline now) they had a very good defense, good o-line, good receiving running back (your coach doesnt run the ball) some excellent WR's, it was all there. Problem is when the games matter (see "09 NFC championship game against cards) mcnabb CHOKES. He starts under throwing, throws picks, fumbles the ball, he does something bad.

Hop...the Eagles did not have a "Very good defense",don't get carried away. Excellent WR's is a stretch. The best WR they had imo was TO and they made it to the Superbowl that year. You say they're on the decline now when their record was 11-5. In that Cards game, the kicker missed an extra point(lol), the defense didn't show up in the 1st half, bad call at the end, etc. Mcnabb passed for 375 yrds, had 3 tds, and 1 interception that was recovered(fumble). He wasnt even a great qb before jail. All Vick does is scramble. The last 5-7 years however DOES show Mcnabb doing his part, the stats prove it. The team overall however is another story, for years receivers like Pinkston were criticized.
