I don't believe Eric had he lived would have stayed with the band, he was quite unhappy during this period. If you watch the video Tales of the Fox, they allude to the fact he was unhappy. It is also rumored that Gene and Paul fired Eric before he got sick, but after he got sick kept him in the band because it would have made them look bad. Howard Stern said this and pissed off Gene, I don't normally like to believe Stern, but in this care he may have been right.
I was at this show. Took a train from Brooklyn. I remember being pretty upset at this show.
From where I was sitting there was a lighting rig that was blocking all of Eric. I could barely see him playing one bit. No one would ever have thought this would be Eric's last show. He had so much energy. I miss you terribly Eric -RIP
@KISS5STYX1 I saw KISS for the first time in June 1979 at the Carolina Coliseum in Columbia, SC. There was obstruction where I was. I was to the right of the stage and could not see the left side or Peter.
@rizzlaxl Wow, I believe this was the last tour (Dynasty) that Peter played on until he came back in 1996. It must have been really disappointing not to see Peter play. I know the feeling buddy.
Mr.Carr well be well remembered by many a KISS fan. All the drummers that followed THE ORIGANAL CATMAN have done well, Eric was a truelly grateful person everytime i met him, know why? one phrase and if you understand then great if you cant wrap your head around it sorry for you. REUNION TOUR, the world wanted to see the ORIGINAL KISS MEMBERS IN THEIR WAR PAINT.
Man what an awesome upgrade! I have the entire show on DVD but not this clear! U have nearly 1200 Kiss shows on DVD and CD if you care to trade! E mail me
I was at this show. One of my best friends was also there (though not with me). She was sitting next to Doro Pesch from Warlock. She got Doro to sign her tits. LOL
Can you imagine ACE and ERIC in a band together doing the music they wanted to do, not what they were told to do. God I would have loved to seen that.
In the book about ERIC CARR ( mentioned on that metal show ) He so wanted to record with ACE , but was heart broken when Gene told him he couldnt do it, or wasnt allowed to, I forget the exact wording. What pissed G & P off so much was how tight he was with ACE and believe it or not, Peter. God that had to piss Gene off that the drummer they hired got along better with ACE & PETER then he did Gene and Paul.
I was there that night. Celebrating my best friend's Bday. A night I'll never forget!! It was strange later when Eric died to know I saw his very last show. Bitter sweet memories for this concert.
.. you guys know Paul wanted to kick Eric Carr out of the band after this tour anyway right? Eric wasn't on speaking terms to Paul at the start of the tour. Even if he had lived he would have left the band.
@Abnerbeast54 - Tommy was already getting prepped for when Ace couldn't show up to the show. And I don't think he would've wanted to wear the make up.
On Thanksgiving the 24th, it is the 20th anniversary of Erics passing. Please light a candle to honor his memory and his incredible and gentle spirit. RIP eric. We miss you.
@argiemerc Because Paul and Gene loved Eric. He was their favorite drummer. If he never died, he would still be in KISS today. He loved the fans as much as Paul and Gene loved him. When he died, Paul and Gene took time off. Paul did some solo shows and found Eric Singer. This led all the way to the unplugged tours. And they brought Peter and Ace back for those. And the fans were happy to see the original 4 on the same stage again. So the original 4 went on tour again.
Sure ? singer was already there playing on Revenge back in 91' . Way before the conventions and I can't remember Peter or Ace playing on any convention, only on the unplugged.
@argiemerc I never said they played on any convention. Peter DID play a few convention shows. But Paul Gene Bruce and Singer were doing unplugged tours and they had the idea of getting the 4 back for unplugged then they did arena shows from 96 til 2000.
@TheBestYears1996 Paul did his solo shows with Singer WAY before Carr died, I was sitting next to Eric Carr in the VIP Balcony at the Ritz in NYC while Singer was on stage playing...Warrant opened the show incidentally, before they got big. I was also at this MSG show.
@TheBestYears1996 Not true. They might of loved him but he was out of the band before he passed, just not legally out. Read the Eric Carr Story. His parents and close friends had to keep it a secret how bad he was after the stroke, he was paraylzed on his left side and if Gene and Paul found out he couldnt play drums anymore there was an out in his contract. They didn't treat him well at all in the end.
@tylermckibbin ~ IMO maybe there will be another KISS drummer .. don't misunderstod me .. IM Eric Carr Fan ... so I belive that sooner or later Eric could end up parts away with KISS .. mainly cause over HITS tour he got into conflict with Paul, that was a huge reason why his drum solo was cut thru this tour, besides Gene and Paul rejects most of his compositions. I wanna imagine that Eric easily could end up makin' a band along Bruce or maybe finally play along with Ace ...
you know.i bet that if eric hadint died that kiss would had settled with him as there new drummer.because he died is maybe why they ended up with e.singer now as kiss only drummer.but of course to thats sort of a tuff call to make because ace went bug house an they had to get tommy.if your a kiss fan as i am these many years now then you follow me.if not then im not going into it.later
Paul is so goofy in between songs.

@69drummerdan Basically. YES. He had no contract with KISS when he died. His contract expired while he was sick with cancer. They didn't renew it....
