@13tarmac. You are so right. I competed for 6 years, and road racing was a big part of my racing schedule. I was a 'climber', and the speeds are incredible. In order to go 20 mph + up a steep hill, it takes a lot of strength, because to go that fast, it takes a big gear. Plus a lot of fitness, so you can recover immediately. I also used my leg and arm muscles to sprint. I also rode the track. Unless a person has done a lot of cycling, it's hard to appreciate the effort it takes to do this.

@devidia Usual arrangement- we work together and I take yellow jersey, you- stage win. Of course you're right, if Valverde had 10mins to yellow, he would beat Szmyd easily, BUT if he had- he would not attached and Szmyd would reach the top alone for almost certainly.

Valverde showed a very srong pervormance on the Mont Ventoux.

I think he is the only one who can stop Contador to win the Tour 2010.

The Vuelta was just the beginning ;-)

They asked him, mostly because of the stable results he have been making overall :) that is a fact, and then again that they don't want to win but just have a good GC, and would like to see what Jakob can do in a GT. They were a bit surprised that he was that good on the road. Riis said that he did not suspect it, so that was why he wasn't in the tour.

you know you are very funny - earlier you said rasmussen would never let race again, with such certainty - I dont know where you get the info. fuglsang is decent, but nothing over the top like what andy schleck has produced... it just perplexs me when first time in GT fuglsang would be given leadership. plus a. schleck is still wearing #1 for saxo bank

According to the danish sports media and Riis, Fuglsang is the captain on Saxobank, A. and F. Schleck are free to do what they want tough. And yeah Andy is a better rider than Fuglsang. Andy just said he did ont want to be the captain because he said that he is to young to ride for victory in two GT's a year. But if it goes his way he will of course get the role of captain, the same for Fränk :) Just repeating the media in Denmark :)
