How great to find a wonderful friend of years ago in the picture above -- Lori Flowers on the far left (replaced one of the original girls but I don't know which one).
This is another beautiful song. I love listening to the old songs of the 50's they all sounds great had beautiful voice! Thanks again for posting. Love this!
great harmony by Toni, Patti and Laverne from Ohio. TY for uploading one I hadn't heard by them and of course radio plays only "born too late"..like it's the only song they ever recorded. radio today leaves so much to be desired. jeff
Toni Cistone, Patti McCabe, Karen Topinka, and Laverne Novak four beautiful voices that could'nt be beat In the late 50's early 60's long live the Poni Tails of Lyndhurst, Ohio!!!
I can help with one ID: Patsy McCabe is the lowest face on the photo. (She was my next-door neighbor on Brainard Road in Lyndhurst, Ohio.) When the Poni Tails' stint as singers ended Patsy worked for a while at a Coke or Pepsi bottling company in Cleveland. RLQ, CF Brush H.S. '62
They remind me of te Chordettes. I do know that this was on the music charts back before the Ponytails covered it again. I'll tell you this much I prefer this song to their big hit "Born to Late", nver liked it in school & disliked it even more out of school but didn't hear it much as it wasn't played along with all the other flashbacks from years gone by. One has to resort to the internet & youtube to get the scoop & listen. We have 7 fm stations playing pop but none play Doowop.Thx
Ahhh.....the Three little girls from Brush High in Lyndhurst, Ohio..right near Cleveland. Toni Cistone in lead...LaVerne Novak.....and Patti McCabe....great little posting..circa 1958. The Master was cut on ABC as I remember.. Should have faired much better IMO.... Listen to the Skyliners version with the great Janet Vogel. and Jimmy Beaument...great stuff ! Thanks for posting.... jeffs45rpm fifty's4ever
What a GREAT version of this classic song from the greatest era in music. These ladies are truly a class act. Thank you for posting this timeless masterpiece.
@TheLimePopsicle Y welcome. Their best song 'Born Too Late' MAN! When I hear this stuff again, I am happy and blessed to have been born right on time!!!
@TheLimePopsicle Sir, Can you please tell me, just who is in this later photo? I'm still trying to figure out just who it was that I had such a crush on, after seeing them on "A.B.", doing Born Too Late. From this Pic, I can't tell at all. Can you compare this pic to the one from "BTL"? Thank-you! Wolfsky9
@Wolfsky9 To be honest, I'm not sure which girl is which either. I'm sure someone will know and be able to help out though. Hopefully they will comment soon!
Just a gorgeous version, & I do remember this. In Denver, on KOSI, 1630 AM, one of the DJ's was in love with these girls, & he played this one, as well as " Born Too Late". These were 3 very talented & pretty young girls, from a better, more innocent time. Thank-you for this Post! Wolfsky9, 64 y/o now.
Yes this was a very good effort by the girls, but maybe it did not make it because it was not there regular style of music.Still I liked it.Great picture of them.Where did you ever find it.Thanks for posting.

What a heart-breakingly beautiful song! Loved the original by Frank Sinatra and the re-make by Rod Stewart, and this one is just as good--fabulous!

@Wolfsky9 Very well-said. The Poni-Tails also deserve much more respect and recognition than they get from so-called music historians.
