  • Sax is compelling...good group...clear...clean....smooth...damn that sax is heavy...

  • I knew Mike very well. Sorry he didn't appear with the group when they had their last reunion. Where is he now?

  • Michael Pedraza, who still sings but limits his singing to christian songs, still has the best voice in the city, even better than Emilio, Ram, David or any of the others who advance the doo wop, soul, rock sound. Those of you that have his music are fortunate since you have a gold mine of memories. Mike, you are blerssed and missed.

  • @univprof77 I would agree with you that Mike could have done anything he wanted to do in the music business. This song could have done well nation wide if it had been promoted accordingly.

  • The royal jesters have always sounded great beautyfull grew up with them as a teenager ithey have always sung from the heart

  • What an absolutely fantastic sound!

  • Great!!!

  • My most sincere condolences to the family of Oscar Lawson. He will be greatly missed. Royal Jesters..."For Ever" from Oscar Galvan, Sunnyside, WA.

  • We will miss group member Oscar Lawson. What a great group. Their songs are well known in Pittsburgh,PA

  • oscar lawson passed away today may he rest in peace 01/08/2011

  • When I first heard this sound I was blown off my chair. With some decent promotion this could have been a number one record. It's got everything. Great harmony, of course, and maybe the all-time best intro on wax. I must have listened to this 20 times so far. Is Chicano Soul a CD or a book, and where can you pick it up?? What label was it released on?

  • Great vocal effort by the Royal Jesters on this one. Charlie Alvarado and the Jives were dishing out some sweet backround music as well.

  • this song sounds more like a prayer but in those days wehad alot of songs that had some relation to angels any way it was a good thing if you go back to those times you will hear a lot of angel songs

  • Yep Thats Charlie Alvarado doing the sax intro

  • man this rola jams... but i cant find it to be able to download it... any one know where i can bajarla

  • Send me your email address and I

will end email with mp3 file attached.

  • @PJC713 : Do it bootleg. Download the video and just strip the music from the video.

  • Is That Charlie At The Begining? Man I Cant Get Enough Of That Sax Sound!!!

  • I love that 'sax. sound,' too!

    Thank you.

    Jennie.

    Thank you.

    Jennie.

  • you guys should have come to E.L.A. to sing in the 50's you would have probably had a bigger market..because I never heard of you guys till now..its a good sound

  • I quite agree.

    Jennie.

  • Good song !

  • Does anyone know how I could get ahold of Luis Escalante, he's my godfather and I would really like to speak to him.

  • I have a friend who speaks to him regularly. Luis lives in Austin. If you like I can put you in touch with my friend so that you can contact Luis.

  • That would be great, if you can I would appreciate it. The last time I spoke to them which I know that my godmother has passed on since then was around seven years ago.

  • Dimas Garza was not the lead singer for the original Royal Jesters, I know that for a fact because my father was the lead singer, which that is Mike Pedraza, after my dad left the group then came Dimas Garza. I just wanted to get that straight.

  • You are absolutely correct. I met your Dad recently. Anyone that knows anything about the music appreciates his contributions to this local group. Dimas followed Mike.

  • I am so glad th hear that someone else, knows the truth. Although Dimas also did a great job, regard less the Royal Jesters are the Royal Jesters and they will always be on top in mm book. Do you remember the song Ask Me to Move the Highest Mountain, that is another of my dad's songs and I will alway treasure that.
