when i was a little girl, i used to beg my mom to buy me muffin shoes. (pointe shoes) i didnt know what they were called. i feel so bleh. but anyways i never got them. :( but i will >:)

I'm a dancer too but I'm female, and I'm not trying to cause trouble by asking, but no one has ever said why male dancers take pointe sometimes. Why? Isn't pointe for females (once again, no offense or anything like that... i'm just curious...)?

Just amazing..I am envious. I am a guy and used to take ballet. Are there other guys in your pointe class or are you the only one. Did a male instuctor teach you to dance en pointe. sorry So many questions...I wanna start back taking ballet class and hopefully go up en pointe if I get good enough.

@krnsngr85 I have a pair of Gaynors and they are okay. I definitely prefer my Russian pointes to them. I was originally fitted for the Grande's, but then had the opportunity to go to the boutique in Chicago and get fitted there, and they put me in the Almaz. Both are beautiful shoes. Its sooooo hard for me to find pointe shoes that work because my feet are weird-shaped to begin with, and seem to change shape the more I dance, lol.

These look good on your feet, but ughhh I hated wearing Serenades. I like hard shanks but that one's like impossible to break in.

Serenades are REALLY hard to break in. I had them for a few years (not the same pair!!), and I could never really get the box to break in like I wanted, and the shank ALWAYS broke in the wrong place, no matter what I did. So I got Bloch Synergy's, with the 3/4 hard shank. I think they'd look good on you, too.

And hey, totally cool that you're a guy en pointe! Major props to you!

I have been trying to find Bloch Synergy's. I don't know if I should get the full shank or the 3/4. But some say I should get the full because 3/4 doesn't look good on my feet. So I'll have to keep looking.

very nice pointe work. i am a guy who does pointe as well and i wear bloch serenade's, but i find that i can't push over my box completely. i have extremely short toes and i was wondering maybe i should order russian pointes in a short vamp...do you think this will help with my problem? my teacher says i have the ankle strength just the wrong shoes...but i kinda wanted another guy's opinion.

Serenades work with only some people. That includes Women and Men. I have russian pointes still, but they are a medium vamp because I push over in lower vamps. But more than likely, If I were you I would take some time at your next pointe shoe buying. Take your time, mind you I got these shoes because they are only good for a practice. I wear many different shoes. But right now I wear Grishko 2007's. I'll post a video soon. remember, if they don't feel right when trying them, try another.

I had Bloch Serenade S0 131. Is that same as what you are wearing? And do you feel that your toes are being very cramp inside? As I just bought a brand new pair and I feel very uncomfortable.. I feel pain even not on pointe, as it is very tight. Or should it be like that? Would it get better after I break them? Reply! Thanks!

I have only tried them once. So Far I like Russian Pointe because its almost like my Bloch Pointe Shoes in which breaking in the shoe is rather similar. but so far I had one pair but right now I am still wearing these shoes for they are not completely dead.
