Considering the fact that all passenger ships have a relatively high depth-to-draft ratio I wouldn't bet my money on Oasis of the Seas capsizing because of being "top heavy". I've repeated it several times in several videos, but keep in mind that there are quite a lot of heavy equipment and machinery, fuel oil and water tanks etc. located below the waterline, and there are large open spaces (the central park thing) in the superstructure.

One of the ugliest modern cruise ships today unfortunately. But it's still amazing if you look beside design and exterior. IMO... and yes I'm a true RCCL fan.
Gee, that thing is really massive!!! If someone is brought in there while sleeping and wakes up there, he wont believe he was on a ship!! Yikes, what a floating city!!... ;)
I filmed it myself when we cruised past the ship. It was at the construction site in Turku, Finland. And I think it's still there, it's not finished yet.
so were you there on vacation or do you live there? I'd love to make it to Finland myself, but I'm still in high school and my parents don't think it'd be worth the trip!
Lithuanians helped build the ship

Thats not a ship, thats a skyscraper floating on its side.
Its 200 ft above the water with only a 30ft draft. Its gonna capsize one day. You can bet on it.

so how big is this in relation to titanic
leezaal 2 years ago
About 5 times as big. Titanic was 40,000+ gross tons, the size of a small modern cruise ship. Oasis is 220,000 gross tons.
SoloWing808 2 years ago
Oasis' tonnage now is 225,282 GT.
Titanic's tonnage is 46,328 GRT.
