Just some info on motorcycles for the car fans. My GSX-R 1000 '2002' in standard form has 181hp at the flywheel, it weighs 183kg, That means a hp to weight ratio of almost 1:1. And an averge 1/4 mile pass of 10.3sec. It cost Aus$12,000 ride away. How much does it cost to get a car to do that.

What all the arguing about?! An R1 or any "R" bike is a serious piece of kit, capable of destroying 99% of all road going cars. But theyre hard to ride to their potential. A car is easier to drive and more practical so pfff whatever floats your boat.
@kadeira surprisingly, the initial couple of seconds of a drag race, weight can be an advantage. A car has 4 contact patches. The GT-R is heavier so has better initial traction. It is also 4wd thus lays down the power far far better. I won't even mention the GT-R's clever electronic gubbins. This isn't just any car we're talking about you know.
Bikers need to chill and look at this objectively rather than rabidly. I'm sure once the bike got going, there was no touching it.

the difference.. top end this bike will do about 200 mph stock. Which costs about 13000 brand new. Top end this car stock will do about 180.. MAYBE!,.. and will cost a lot more than that. I dont know much about skylines.. but I do know that they are rare. If you tune them they are quick. But for out of the box speed you cant do anything wrong by buying a sport bike. If you tune that and put a little money into it.. you'll have one fast straight line racer.

And also to add in stock form GTRs (R32-R34) aren't that fast. A stock standard V8 Camaro (new one) would probably beat it in a 1/4 mile race. They NEED to be modified and absolutly love it when you do.
@blacksabbath30 a Stock R32 GTR runs a flat 13 second 1/4, a stock R33 GTR runs a flat 14 second 1/4 and a stock R34 GTR runs a 13.7 1/4 on a good day, a Chevy Camaro 2011 runs a 13.1 - easily beat it my ass.
However that is still an impressive achievement by the skyline being 20+ years old and only 280hp to achieve those figures but we all know the GTRs main purpose is not drag racing but going around corners, that is where it really shines. But the thing isn't unbeatable.

Jesus guys what are you arguing about? I don't know where you guys live but here in Australia Supras and Skylines are as common as Camrys and Corollas.
It all depends on the set up of the car and the mods done to the car. Some skylines are faster, some Supras are faster. Both have amazing chassis and both have amazing engines both can be set up to run fucking fast ETs and both can be set up for fast Lap times.
So saying one will always be faster than the other is just ignorant and foolish.
the moral of the story is, if ya wona go fast buy a bike, if ya wona go fast and be dry and warm buy a skyline(just make sure your wallet is big enough :)
Bikes were made to be fast than automobiles. This is a victory for an automobile even if it is heavily tuned. No excuses one just had more money put into it than the other thats all they're both sweet a bad ass car and a nice looking bike so who cares who won.
Racing winners = who put more money and time into their vehicle.
It's not about how much money you put in it; It's about how decent of a driver (or rider) you are.
In this clip, and case, the rider wasn't experienced at launching properly. The bike could've easily overtaken the car, seeing as he was able to catch up midway through the race.
Anyhow, money can't make up for lack of skill, regardless of how much you put in your vehicle.

@WhiteIWolf i know they set records at the tsukuba circuit in japan, they are not banned from arguably one of the most important tuner events; time attack (super lap or tuner battles), so i don't know know why they would be so badass it's illegal. Sport bikes are right around 56 seconds, but that's with a slightly longer track with an extra chicane the cars don't use.
@WhiteIWolf just so you know, they are banned in events in Europe and N. America, but in Japan and Australia/NZ they are allowed to take parts in 95% of the races.
The most outlawed/banned cars, are the Rotary engined cars. (mostly RX7's) since they regulated the RX8 in a lot of touring series, specially by adding weight ballast. And they are a dominating force in North America against Corvettes, Mustangs, Ferrari, Porsche, etc...

I dunno if anyone at all knows how he intessa awd system in the r34 works but if ur more mechanically incline then my 3 year old , u can clearly see the r34 driver can't drive to save he's own life. These video r stupid bike guys that are novice riders will claim their bike will murder anything and the car guys don't know enough how anything works will argue with the bike guys forever. Lol no one ever take in consideration if the operator of he vehicle knows how to use it lol.

And also to add in stock form GTRs (R32-R34) aren't that fast. A stock standard V8 Camaro (new one) would probably beat it in a 1/4 mile race. They NEED to be modified and absolutly love it when you do.

@blacksabbath30 a Stock R32 GTR runs a flat 13 second 1/4, a stock R33 GTR runs a flat 14 second 1/4 and a stock R34 GTR runs a 13.7 1/4 on a good day, a Chevy Camaro 2011 runs a 13.1 - easily beat it my ass.
However that is still an impressive achievement by the skyline being 20+ years old and only 280hp to achieve those figures but we all know the GTRs main purpose is not drag racing but going around corners, that is where it really shines. But the thing isn't unbeatable.

@shakybones007 look man my skyline ISN't STOCK it has INTAKES AND EXHAUST which is a modification and my boost restrictor is pulled(boosts at 10 psi instead of 7), so the hp is somewhere between 350-370 and it was rolling from 60 kms i let the vette go ahead of me and passed him within seconds and the camaro was closer cause i missed my shift into 3rd but then passed him like nothing he pulled up to me afterwards and said i had him, sorry man but that's the facts, don't trust everything u read

@blacksabbath30 Yes well if you read my original comment, I was mentioning that in STOCK form they aren't that impressive and that they need to be modified in order for them to be seriously quick. I know how fast GTRs are even with the most mild upgrades like yours so it doesn't suprise me yours did what it did, But I was refering to stock vehicles.

Jesus guys what are you arguing about? I don't know where you guys live but here in Australia Supras and Skylines are as common as Camrys and Corollas.
It all depends on the set up of the car and the mods done to the car. Some skylines are faster, some Supras are faster. Both have amazing chassis and both have amazing engines both can be set up to run fucking fast ETs and both can be set up for fast Lap times.
So saying one will always be faster than the other is just ignorant and foolish.

Bikes were made to be fast than automobiles. This is a victory for an automobile even if it is heavily tuned. No excuses one just had more money put into it than the other thats all they're both sweet a bad ass car and a nice looking bike so who cares who won.
Racing winners = who put more money and time into their vehicle.

It's not about how much money you put in it; It's about how decent of a driver (or rider) you are.
In this clip, and case, the rider wasn't experienced at launching properly. The bike could've easily overtaken the car, seeing as he was able to catch up midway through the race.
Anyhow, money can't make up for lack of skill, regardless of how much you put in your vehicle.

we're comparing a X modded car vs Y modded bike. it wasn't even a quarter mile so if it means anything, the bike probably would have won that.

@WhiteIWolf i know they set records at the tsukuba circuit in japan, they are not banned from arguably one of the most important tuner events; time attack (super lap or tuner battles), so i don't know know why they would be so badass it's illegal. Sport bikes are right around 56 seconds, but that's with a slightly longer track with an extra chicane the cars don't use.

@WhiteIWolf just so you know, they are banned in events in Europe and N. America, but in Japan and Australia/NZ they are allowed to take parts in 95% of the races.
The most outlawed/banned cars, are the Rotary engined cars. (mostly RX7's) since they regulated the RX8 in a lot of touring series, specially by adding weight ballast. And they are a dominating force in North America against Corvettes, Mustangs, Ferrari, Porsche, etc...

@TheNigger12 takes a real rider with some serious balls to get a good bike launch, getting epic acceleration and keeping that front wheel down is the hard part whereas cars you just hammer it and sit back :) just shows how damn fast them R1's are i have an old 94' yamaha xj600 and only passed my test 3 months ago and just imagining how sensitive that R1 throttle is is scary, but one day ill grow the balls to get one lol for now at least i can whip golf gti's and boy racers thats nuff for me :)

who the fuck cares. that r34 beat the shit outta that stupid little rice rocket hands down. and you sound like a pussy when you say it was bad shifting on the bikes part, maybe the rider should have practiced a bit more. in my experience it is way harder to launch a manual car in a race than a bike. having said that, the rider on that R1 was a total noob and he knew it. a win is a win in my books, so lets all be big people and stop bitching like little girls :D
