A lot of people don't know that Van Williams was skilled in judo. Bruce taught him how to strike. They cancelled the series because of the production cost. It was too expensive to keep on the air. William Dozer liked the Hornet Show better than Batman. He was the producer of both.

I just saw the 2011 Version; while the guy playing Kato (Chou) did an excellent job, the writers made Britt Reed into a bungling incompetent spoiled brat with no skills in life whatsoever. Hollywood never misses an opportunity to trash or topple the traditional White Male hero. If you want relive the classic Green Hornet, you will walk away disappointed as you know it could have been so much better if.

i loved how Bruce Lee looked as Kato. he looked with that mask, and i was in love with him, even though i had only seen this look in pictures. They never actually aired the show where i was from, but Bruce lee was very popular even after his death, cause i was born in 77, and we were big fans of his in my family.

Great clip and song. As a kid, I remember Bruce Lee very well in this series and Longstreet. Didn't realize he was part German. Maybe that explains in part why he was different and stood out among other Asians actors. He was a true fighter.

@andersport That's funny because i read that the producer purposefully toned down Kato's fighting because they knew he would over shadow the Green Hornet. I always told people how great the show was; the Hornet would throw a couple of haymakers, then Kato would kick the crap out of everyone else. What a shame it is that Bruce Lee died so young. Van Williams is the only person on the show that is still alive
