I see myself as a huge fiery comet, a shooting star. Everyone stops, points up and gasps "Oh look at that!" Then- whoosh, and I'm gone...and they'll never see anything like it ever again... and they won't be able to forget me- ever.
Very well done.....Peace Frogs is an amazing song too! But you could have ended with a better pic lol even though that was legendary....but no worries... Jim lives on....LOVE!
does anyone know which of these the doors documentaries or whatever has all the doors introducing themselves in front of the camera??? im trying to find it, but unfortunately i cant... please, anyone?
lol yeah it's in Waterboy... it's in one of the first scenes when he's serving water at one of the practices... they don't play the whole song though obviously but they do briefly though
why the fuck did the greatist american poet have to die? he was the best man ever!!!!!! man to bad he was never affiliated with jimi hendrix that would be a better doors dont ya think??
I guess maybe I contradicted myself, but I am positive that I think Krieger is great. Not as great as Manzarek and Morrison at what they did, and not as great as some other guitarists (like Hendrix and Garcia), but great in his own way.
How many drunks pissing in the streets have you ever seen who were also brilliant poets and lyricists and who were so fantasticlly innovative in that American art form known as rock-n-roll?
heroic has various meanings tho he might apply to the one where people feel heis gifted in his ability to make us think and bring many people together
There was nothing "heroic" about his life. He was the biggest coward, why do you think he was drunk all the time. If you saw a drunk on the streets pissing himself, would you call him heroic?
pretty much everyones a mutt u kno weve all been conquered through out history besides morrison is human ofcourse he isnt perfect but its the flaws that make him just and right or else hed be boring
With all due respect to the Doors and their music (and that is considerable respect), ending your most promising life at 27 essentially by abusing booze and drugs and making most of those around you miserable in the process is certainly not heroic.
The music was pretty damn heroic, not Jim the man though.
He may have not lived a heroic life in the traditional sense but he was a man of brilliant intelligence and superb talent. A true poet and legend no doubt. I loved Jim Morrison, still do and I miss him.
I agree with the comments about Morrison's supposed heroic life. I used to be very nearly obsessed with Morrison until I grew up. Another thing that enabled me to have a more realistic view of Jim Morrison was when I discovered Lou Reed and Velvet Underground and it occurred to me that THAT was what Morrison was trying to be like.
I love the doors. But the Jim image overshadows the rest of the band--esp. these days. Kreiger was the mastermind behind 'Light My Fire' & 'Touch Me', the former being the song that made them. But just roll with it...all hail Jimbo! What is this taking place? You're made of poke holes in the godess skin. Will he stink carried heavenward through the halls of music? No chance.
This is so boring... Sorry, but these images have all been seen a thousand times and you picked a pretty dull Doors tune. I always felt Jim was really limited by his band...
I love this song, the album was brilliant and I found this really interesting. The thing about The Doors was they all worked so well together, complimented each others talents. They wouldn't have been half as successful without each other
Jim was not limited by the whole band...Krieger was average, i agree. Densmore was pretty good. Manzarek kicks ass. I love Manzarek almost as much as Jim.
I agree, Manzarek is amazing. As well as Jim. But I think Robby and John were also brilliant, and I love the way Robby plays on "Spanish Caravane", you see that he's ont really "average". None of them was "average". If their music's just amazing, it's because of ALL of them ... ;)
I agree with the Spanish Caravan assessment...Krieger is awesome. If you can, you should get the Doors Live in Philadelphia show from 1970...listen to "LMF"...he does something really funny in the solo
Famous Rock and Roll scholar and author of many Beatles articles and books Gary Patterson will be live in the studio with George Noory next Friday night July 14, 2006 for the first hour on Coast to Coast AM. The guest will be a psychic who claims to be in touch with the spirits of Jim Morrison and Michael Hutchence. :P
There's usually a segment where fans can call in and ask questions if ya happen to get into these kinda things.
lol ya Jim is moving to generations...like today i wore my "The Doors" t-shirt and my teacher said must be your parents but no i listen to The Doors there my favorite band! I'd do antyhing to see them live if they still had Jim lol my sister is 12 and she thinks Jim is hott!
If there is one reason I would kill somebody, it'd be to see the Doors live in their prime. I could handle a death sentence after that. And if I were never caught I would probably die in awe and euphoria anyway.
Lol, you're scary. ;)) I could kill somebody to watch a Doors' show, but somebody ... like Jessica Simspon, maybe?? I couldn't kill my mother to watch the Doors, I think ... ;))
Jim's the hottest ghost in the 'ether' as Ray likes to call it. Amazing how his essence still Rocks and Sizzles through the generations. I'll bet my 3 year old nieces generation will be drooling over the great Lizard King too decades from now! Jim's one for the ages-like a Mozart. :)
i remember one time when i was with Jim and he had a notebook with the title "Abortion Stories" and this was in it. it was amazing
