does anyone know any differences/advantages between sapling on software i.e. FL, reason to sampling on hardware? like sampling workstations. cos some people diss FL bt in the end. if the samples are good... it doesnt matter what u use, right?
i use mpc 2000xl and reason 4 and i gotta say FL studios freakin rocks in many ways vs reason.
i lvoe reason but FL studio is more of an all in one thing than reason because of the VST plug in support. plus u can track things also, making remixes much easier.
u also can't record into reason.
FL studio is the truth in so many ways. why don't i use it? well i bought mpc and legit copy of reason why would i spend money on something else? lol
should i try to master my beats in reason or pro tools? i record the song in its entirety, beat, vocals, in pro tools? but the beat is first made in reason. should i utilize the scream racks in reason and the mastering patches? or can i jus do all that in pro tools like mixing down vocals?
program cubase, sonar, cooledit pro wich is now called adobe audtion and even reaper wich I think you will like a lot better than audacity check out the reaper fourum

The software is very innovative (and a worthy purchase) but, you have to ask, using this technique what does the "D.J." really bring to the track? I thought the best use of sampling was done by Public Enemy. After they got through with it the samples bore little resemblence to the original.
This just seems like canabalization. Learn how to write and arrange for horns. You'll end up getting somthing original and won't have to depend on others for your beats.
fantom next to reason... umm fantom can be used as a midi controller... to trigger sounds in reason so obviously you dont know what the fuck your talking about..

this bitch is a thief, an imitator. Yeah, WOW, sounds good only because some band spent years practicing their instruments so they can record it. He couldn't come up with a melody like that if his life depended on it. Why doesn't he use sample banks of bass drums and horns to make his own MUSIC. And recycle is a piece of crap. All samplers have the auto-chop feature built right in these days. AND he EQ's and compresses before he's even done with the song. what an IDIOT!
lots of people eq and compress before the song is done... nobody really uses the main compress presets and shit hes just showing them how its used and how you can use it... IDIOT!
Anybody that has something negative to say about Babu is probably just a fucking Hater. Dialated Peoples is a very tight group and if more rappers would follow that mode and become HIP HOP ARTISTS shit would improve drastically overnight.
Propellerheads, you picked a really bad in-articulate ambassador (Babu) to demonstrate such a cutting edge amazing product. Get someone with some charisma and brains next time!
Do you know the dude? Babu (Chris) is not only articulate he is one of the best turntablist on the planet. He coined the term, dummy. He may be down by law but he is neither inarticulate nor stupid. You now, you done showed your ass...
Let me clarify something so I don't look like the previous misspelling idiot. That should have been "turntablists" not the singular. My bad, but at least I didn't spell it "turntablist-s". That last cat (dubsie) has to be a know nothing techno dj.

(Excuse me if this turns out to be a 2x post)
The sample he is using is a cover of the classic Afro-Cuban song "Babalu", yes THAT Babalu (from "I Love Lucy")
You can find an even crazier version on the following album:
