does anyone know any differences/advantages between sapling on software i.e. FL, reason to sampling on hardware? like sampling workstations. cos some people diss FL bt in the end. if the samples are good... it doesnt matter what u use, right?

i use mpc 2000xl and reason 4 and i gotta say FL studios freakin rocks in many ways vs reason.

i lvoe reason but FL studio is more of an all in one thing than reason because of the VST plug in support. plus u can track things also, making remixes much easier.

u also can't record into reason.

FL studio is the truth in so many ways. why don't i use it? well i bought mpc and legit copy of reason why would i spend money on something else? lol

should i try to master my beats in reason or pro tools? i record the song in its entirety, beat, vocals, in pro tools? but the beat is first made in reason. should i utilize the scream racks in reason and the mastering patches? or can i jus do all that in pro tools like mixing down vocals?

yes you can. you should be able to use any audio

program cubase, sonar, cooledit pro wich is now called adobe audtion and even reaper wich I think you will like a lot better than audacity check out the reaper fourum

The software is very innovative (and a worthy purchase) but, you have to ask, using this technique what does the "D.J." really bring to the track? I thought the best use of sampling was done by Public Enemy. After they got through with it the samples bore little resemblence to the original.

This just seems like canabalization. Learn how to write and arrange for horns. You'll end up getting somthing original and won't have to depend on others for your beats.
