I think that our brave, entrepid Super Trooper is sweating a fever. I'd have been flat on my face already. I agree that Mireille is great; but to say that she's greater then the "'Little sparrow", Edith Piaf is not quite right. Edith Piaf was 7 is the greatest chanteuse that France has given us. her ballads of unrequited love are unique & she had a way of making you feel her sorrows & tribulations; so yes, Mathieu is good but no comparison to the great Piaf.

Los que la comparan con Piaf la recuerdan en sus inicios y no han seguido la maravillosa evolución de esta artista. Je suis bien d'accord! Mlle Mathieu a developpé son style individuel, depuis longtemps. De plus, elle a une gamme musicale complètement différent de celle de mlle Piaf.

(Dicho sea de paso, vd tiene la suerte de vivir en unas de las ciudades más interesantes y pintorescas de Europa, digna de comparase a París, aun en cuestiones culinarias. Unas de las mejores cenas que he comido en mi vida tuvo lugar en Los Caracoles. ¡Ojalá este abierto todavía!)

Je crois que la préférence d'une artiste a l'autre est une question de esthétique individuel. Moi, je préfère la voix et surtout l'élan artistique de mlle Mathieu à ceux de mlle Piaf. En tout cas, les deux chanteuses sont des grandes artistes. En passant, les trilles de Mathieu ne sont pas intentionellement imitatifs de Piaf. Mireille Mathieu est née à Avignon, dans la vielle Provence, où l'on a employé toujours la r comme ça quand elle était enfant.

Est-ce qu'il est vrai que Mirielle soit moin populaire en France qu'ailleur dans le monde. Recemment j'ai regardé une émission consacreé à elle à TV5. On y lui a rendu grand hommage et elle était très heureuse ce soir-là.

Quant à cette chanson "Acropolis Adieu" en français, elle est géniale! Mais je trouve que la version allemande soit meilleure que la française - beaucoup plus d'énergie, à mon avis! Quand même, Mirielle est toujours une merveille n'importe quoi elle chante!
