  • @AgentPaulSmecker Indeed! In addition to their 1987 Davis Cup marathon and their classic semi-final encounter at Bercy (Paris) in 1989, what a crying shame that they merely played one another when McEnroe was no longer at the peak of his game (although they played once in 1985, not to mention that their Australian match in 1992 was a blast from the past as far as McEnroe's level is concerned) and never did so at Wimbledon! Ciao, J

  • @MetropeJocelyn

there is one match in the eighties, early in beckers career, after wich mcenroe felt that becker didnt give him the respect he deserved. is it perhaps this match, or do you know which match it is?

  • @AgentPaulSmecker Hello Paul. I do recall that observation from McEnroe and reckon that it was made in 1985 (during which they only met once) or 1986. Therefore, it may well have been related to that very game, or possibly earlier on as he lost to Becker on - outdoor - hard court between July and September 1986 (there are videos of that game on Youtube). Ciao, J
