I really like this video. However, I have to disagree with one thing. Cutting a slit in that holster to carry an extra mag makes it very difficult to get to in a hurry. Extra mags should be carried in your off hand pocket. Otherwise you have to move the weapon to your weak hand to access the mag in your strong hand pocket.
I don't think you would use these techniques in every situation. If the bad guy has a gun, especially a bigger gun then your LCP pointed at you at close range,it would be better just to give the moron your wallet. However,It's a persons judgement call to whether they feel the bad guy will go away after they get what they want,or shoot you anyway.Wow ! I wouldn't want to be in that situation.Either way,it won't be pretty !
I think small guns give you a better chance in a bad situation ! Some people carry 1911's which are grate guns but if a bad guy see the gun or suspects you have a gun because is to big to conceal, He will shoot and then ask for your wallet! with a small gun one might outsmart the guy and stop the treat before he harms you or a loved one! grate video thank you for posting . I will check your other vids now!
Which gun do you think is better for concealed carry, the Ruger LCP or a J Frame revolver? I'm leaning towards the J Frame revolver due to its better stopping power caliber and reliability, but I'm also interested in the LCP due to its concealability, I prefer a semi-automatic handgun, it holds 2 more rounds of ammo and reloading is a breeze with spare mags.
@varolachner - I have a S&W 642 and a Ruger LCR. Even though the LCR is an excellent revolver and lighter in weight, I find myself carrying the 642 almost all the time. The 642 is a hair smaller and just disappears in my pocket (using an Uncle Mike's pocket holster).
Great sidearm and mine goes with me where ever I go. I have a crimson attached and a wallet holster to accommodate and the LCP feels comfortable for me to have with me for any contingency. The crimson is nice as it is a great way to acquire the target at night or merely to threaten with the idea of discouraging anything physical from an attacker.
A left handed person should own a CCW pistol with an ambidextrous magazine release. The Ruger LCP doesn't come in any left handed friendly model to my knowledge.
Thanks for creating this video. I am about to purchase the Ruger LCP 380 and found this video very informative for where I can store my new gun. Thanks!
Thanks for creating this video. I am about to purchase the Ruger LCP 380 and found this video very informative for where I can store my new gun. Thanks!
It was hard for me to go from a revolver to carrying an LCP but I love the way it carries in a pocket. Have you heard of any problems with the LCP? From what I have heard its very dependable. I am using the Remington Golden Saber HP 380 102 grain. What do you use in your LCP?
Nice videos....you guys did a great job explaining that. I have a Sig .380 now and I really want a pocket gun like the Ruger LCP .380. I will check out your website. Thanks again
Countries with highest reported crime rates. From #1, Iceland, Sweden, New Zealand, Grenada, Norway , England, Denmark, Finland, Scotland and #10 Canada. This is all crime, not only violent crime. Still interesting stats.
I dont believe your statistics.. what is your source?
In Norway they are not allowed to carry a knife with a blade over 2 inches in public. I've heard that Norway's crime rate is like SUPER low, so i doubt that Norway is on #6...
Why should anyone be a fan of Michael Moore. He's incapable of anything other than deception and camera tricks. He's a genius BTW. His deceptions are works of art.
@outkasst88 It's not called freedom, its called walking in the street with a gun, and if you get mad you have the chance to cap somebody, but its up to you. and, you combine rules with slavery? That's a little messed up, and you know it.
@Gonamez Having the right to carry a gun doesn't give you the right to "cap" people. You have the right to defend yourself against a criminal who has nothing to lose, and who would have a gun no matter what the law says. It would be "messed up" if you couldn't defend yourself against those people. I think it is really wrong that other countries don't allow their citizens to carry guns. p.s. it's obnoxious and presumptuous to say "and you know it" after you try to make a point.
I think the ATF told Ruger specifically to make this gun have a factory fitted barrel. If they don't, other companies would make threaded barrel's making it useful to attach silencers to this gun making it one of the best assassins guns ever made for concealment chambered in .380ACP.
Question? I live in Southern California, if some guy trys to take my wallet or threaten my Baby, and I pull this gun out and shoot him, won't I go to prison for carrying a concealed weapon and probably other charges???
Well, if you are threatened with a weapon and you don't have one to defend yourself you may end up dead.....so you should check your states carry laws and go from there. I will say that California's lib's don't seem to understand firearms and personal defense, seeing guns only in the hands of criminals and officers. So until they offer a personal armed officer to gaurd me, I wouldn't put one foot in your state!
there is no 380 test wit different ammo ..im in Canada so there is no possibility its gunna happen for me..but wet phone book with maybe cor-bons, jhp, any bonded jhp and u would be a star...a hole lot of talk about pennitration with 380..hollos speed up but du they punch the 9inch we all need or the fmjs that hit the 12in- 13inch could be better ??? du u feel undergunned?????cant wait to hear back thanks alot
california has some of the strictest handgun laws in the country, but would you rather kill a criminal who threatens your child or be a victim? only you can decide that, honestly if you want to carry a gun i would move states
Lethal force laws vary by state - robbery is a defense in some places - know your state laws.
Lethal force is appropriate if you reasonably feel your life is in danger or you are in danger of grave bodily injury, or the same for a third party.
The criminal being armed is not necessarily required. Disparity of force, which is a defense, comes into play when someone much larger or stronger than you is attacking you or if you are disabled or if you are facing multiple attackers at once.
shooting a robbers seems border line illegal. why? because of how robbers get treated with human dignity. if any one is associated with any robbery, then they should die with the robber. I say kill em all and the rest of the people that are associated with them.
I would normally agree with you, but the truth is - you draw your weapon you need to be ready to use it without having to think about it. If you do, you need to be prepared for the mess that will follow. You'll have to go through the whole legal process just as if you randomly killed someone. It can get very expensive. Assess the situation before you decide to fire. If the threat is not great, just give up the wallet.
I do carry and the LAST thing I want to do is use it.
I am not sure that in fla you can use deadly force to stop a robbery unless, the assailant has a weapon himself. You can't just shoot someone or even draw if someone asks you for your wallet. This demonstration shows them drawing in the master grip as if there was one in the pipe.
Crime is not always a reason to use lethal force. More people need to learn that. You only need to use lethal force if you are being threatened with lethal force yourself.
There is absolutely no reason to use a firearm against a thief who is not threatening you. It's still a human life and in the United States bringing people to justice is more important than potentially killing them.
And I am an avid gun owner, don't tell me to get educated, you do not know me.
The best is if one scumbag kills another scumbag. One's gone and the another get life in prison...if our clown judicial system does it's job right...lol!
The situation has to be individually determined, but there are certainly situations where a person committing a crime against you does not and should not have to be armed for you to protect your own life. Here's the main reason:
A person does not have to be armed to cause serious injury or death to another person.
@metalfaust19 Once a criminal, always a criminal, there are too many people in this planet we call Earth anyways. Just got my Ruger GP100 6", can't wait for a "non-threatening" criminal to break into my house!
If you truly believe you are right to use lethal force against an unarmed person, I sincerely hope you are never given the chance to do so and I hope you never have anything to do with the military, law enforcement or security work.
Part of gun ownership for self-defense is having the ability to keep a cool head and identify threats, not blow someone away for stealing. They do that in the Middle East. Should they lose a hand for stealing an apple as well?
Sir or whoever you are, I did not say anything about shooting anyone. I said "it's about stopping a crime from happening." And you say "There is no reason to use a firearm against a thief who is no threatening you", someone robbing someone is a threat, and therefore you should use any means necessary to stop that threat if you feel that your life is in any danger. No, you don't have to "blow someone away" if you don't need to. So, here's your education.
The problem is that you replied to my reply of another user who advocated the killing of anyone who committed theft. You jumped on me for a statement, but you didn't know what I was replying to with that statement.
When you say someone is "robbing" you, if you imply they are robbing you at gunpoint or knifepoint, I have no problem with you or anyone else shooting that criminal.
If someone is stealing you CD player out of your car at 3AM, it's a different story. That's all I'm saying.
Some people dont have the physical capability to fend of criminals with their hands. Their option is to brandish their firearm. The need to pull the trigger is what has to be weighed. If you brandish your firearm and the criminal still commences, armed or unarmed, most people need to pull the trigger.
Secondarily, things like castle law exists for good reason. Criminal dont have to be armed. If you dont want to get shot, stay out of other people's houses.
@BullShnit Actually it is about eliminating the threat which usually means putting the criminal down with out the chance for them to react, you do the math.
Former law enforcement here. Do they make this firearm in 9mm? I looked at this one today and the guy wasnt sure. I understand there was a recall but I know what to look for now. Thanks
Sorry for the delay, no 9mm yet. Kahr makes a really nice small 9mm, but nowhere near this small. There are others. I carry the .380, but, then keep a .45 or a 9 for when I have room. Recall is done and new pistols don't have those issues.
Thanks I want to change to a smaller "summer" 24/7 carry I love this sidearm...just dont like the fact of it being a .380. I only wanna have to shoot once and not really aim so I carry a .40. I keep looking. Great videos
Well, being former LEO, you know as well as I do, shot placement is everything, I have seen a bunch of folks shot with .45, .40 and all and live just fine. I'm a knuckle draggin SWAT entry guy and love a .45, but, on hot, north florida days, carry a .380. We have over 100 of them here at our agency. Like my boss said once, the little bullet you have is a lot better than the big one you left at home. :-)
Your boss was a wise man. I NEVER leave home without mine. I dont want to have to live to see the day that I have to tell the story of the day I didnt have mine on me.....Ill take a look at that .380
Absolutely. We would never carry a gun without a round in the chamber. Bad guys don't give you time to "lock an load" so to speak. Watch our "Comply, Distract, React Drill" video on our site.
FYI, for anyone watching our videos, you may want to take note we talk about things that are legal in Florida. Florida is a "stand your ground" state and the Florida Legislature enacted the Castle Doctrine in 2005. Our laws make a lot of sense and work well. We are Law Enforcement Officers and understand the law. Please don't make this page a political comment page or we will delete the comment. If you live in any state other than Florida, consult your laws. Our videos are not legal advise
If you are watching this, check out our newest videos and some related to Ruger LCP's at our site. We just uploaded several new ones. The wallet holster is a new addition.
I like the idea of concealing the weapon in such a way, so that if you are being robbed for your wallet, you can draw the weapon as if. Some good tips. THX.
that why in the summer time I wear an IWB holster on the small of the back just in case i get robbed. the robber will think your gettin your wallet insted your gettin your gun from the back end.
I really like this video. However, I have to disagree with one thing. Cutting a slit in that holster to carry an extra mag makes it very difficult to get to in a hurry. I like the idea of concealing the weapon in such a way, so that if you are being robbed for your wallet, you can draw the weapon as if. Some good tips. THX.
