@ sucharadder. I agree, this film is so underrated. I think in time it will be a classic. It is a moving story and everyone hits their performances. It will outlast 99% of all the crap made today.

Great great film, such outstanding characters and so, so realistic and characteristic and true to form for the time period too. People may not instantly call this film a classic for its time but I am ...it makes me slightly nostalgic. Both actors were/are in such fine form.
