  • Those Copiers!!!@#$%@#$^%

I was a copier repair man once, and I loved fixing them cause I would meet lovely customers like you.

  • :) I am always thankful when I get through a job on the copier, even with a few jams. I remember when my mom would make copies on a type of mimeograph. ugh!

  • True, I remember the mimeograph - that was yucky stuff. I think the copiers are great machines these days - especially the colour ones and you have the scan and send to email functions now. I reckon your little boy will use many of the copies of Fire trucks, animals and fun stuff when doing his projects. Keep your sanity around them when they break down though.

  • Cool camera and equipment! Hope you had a good time at the meetup!

  • I loved your copier man story. So I subscribed. :D

  • I am glad you liked it, I just had to share such a wonderful story. :)

  • Mo, I wish you and your family all the best, during the weather that is, and will be, occuring. (I write this from Florida early in the morning of June 6).

  • Thank you! Bad storms again last night. But so far we are ok, the water in the basement is still clear instead of being from the sewer. I am soooooo thankful!!!

  • It's always cool when unexpected good things happen like that. What if the repair man was part of a "Pass It Forward" type of chain? I guess it's your turn now!

  • I make a conscious effort to be kind to strangers. I also made a sacrifice of a huge chunk of my time for parents this past week. Good enough? :-)

  • Sounds good to me!

  • Did the bad weather affect you? Hope all is OK.

  • Thanks for asking, we are fine, just tree limbs down. Whew!!! It was a scary evening tho.

  • Glad to hear all is well. Peace and blessings to you and family.

  • Sounds like Someone sent you an angel to save the day! Ooooo...cool stuff...must feel like Christmas in May!

  • Very much like Christmas, just a bit warmer. ;-)

  • wonderful copier story! I love when that sort of thing happens :) Good deal on the camera too!

  • It was just an amazing thing at the perfect time. I so enjoyed calling his boss and passing on the info :-)

  • Good deal. Now I expect to see more videos!

  • I thought you were going to e-stalk me? Where have you been?

  • A good stalker sees but is not seen.

  • I hate copier jams. I love strawberry jams instead!! Har Har Har ;)

  • I think the light is worth a lot more than a tripod. You did good! And it sounds like God sent you the right repairman =)

  • Oh the light is worth more, there's another story behind that. God did send the right one! The regular guy would never have done that. :-)

  • <:o)

  • That's great that the repairman did that. There's nothing like compassion. With more of that, this world can be a better place.

  • His actions made a huge difference for me. It was so fun calling in to his office to offer praise instead of a complaint.

  • sounds like you need the power of "no" in your life. ;)

It doesn't sound like a hard word to say.

One syllable. Trips off the tounge, but wow,can it be hard one to get out!!

  • All those things are jobs that enable me to be with my children. I am busy, but it's all for good. Unlike some people I cannot write beautiful music! ;-) btw, ask people around me, I can say "NO!" in many many ways.

  • Well i would meet you at the gathering, but someone put a few gallons of Ocean between us :-(

    x hugs x

  • A few gallons? Pfft! If we each start now we can move that water and meet in the middle.

  • Are you having a good time or what...and by the way I asked you something HoMo....I mean Madame MoHo....(uh Damn!!!...I hate saying wrong things at the right time...).

  • President "NO COMMENT" MoHo = people tired of always being nice. Wanna join?

  • Ugh, copiers... I have an HP All-in-One, and the frustration sometimes makes me want to do what those guys did in "Office Space" and smash it out in a field somewhere. Unfortunately, here in Florida, all of the fields have developments on them. So there's always the canals...

  • So sorry, my HP 3 in 1 at home works fine. Scanning is kinda lame but otherwise it does the trick. City wide cleanup is here tomorrow, hurry on over and bring your copier, they will tote it away for free! ;-)

  • Maybe I should send you a dingo for Christmas. They're very good with unwanted children.

  • "The dingo ate my baby!" (Where is that quote from???? racking my brain...)

  • It was from that Meryl Streep movie. In this case though I'm more concerned that the baby might eat the dingo.

  • Hey Mo, excellent deal on the camera. It would cost at least twice that over here.

How good was that repair man! Sounds like you had a week of good karma.

Don't you think it's time to admit to yourself that LT & Tubeskanke' baby is not just a 'daycare' child? Sure, it spends it's nights at strip clubs & bars but 'Daycare', who are you trying to fool. He's your stepson & it's time to face the facts.

Great to see you looking so happy again :)

  • I still do not claim that thing you call a child. He is in the garage right now, sucking up motor oil from the floor. pfft!

  • Michael? You sure? :-)

And still your neck did not lock up. AWESOME!!

  • MICHAEL! (the angel????) LOL about the neck, it is so bad today, I must have been too hyper on the video yesterday. Wearing a heat pad right now! But I still...must..YouTube!!!!

  • Ow... It was to be expected but still a shame. And I'm never joking about angels... though it can be funny like that sometimes.

A BIG warm hug for you.

  • That was so nice of the copier man and he used his initiative before he even called you. Wow what a brilliant package even though you paid for it, it was like Christmas! Cheers, Lesley

  • I was so shocked when I realized what he had done. He really has no idea how much he helped me. I called today to make sure his boss knew.

  • THAT is a real good action. You are so thoughtful. I bet you send thank you cards after a nice visit or event. ;-)

  • Nah, I just yell at people as I run off with all the presents "Catch me if you can Ha HA HA" It's a fun way to end a family gathering.

  • That's the tough bit when people do great things for us we have to put the effort in to make them know they're thanked. People seem to put most effort into complaining these days. I spoke to customer services in a large store recently 'cos there wasn't anywhere else to go to give them praise. They were so shocked someone just wanted to say 'thanks, this is great'. That's a sad statement about our society I thought. Good on you for following through despite being soooo busy! L

  • What a wonderful purchase off e-bay! Treasures! I would have been excited as well! I am looking forward to your videos.

Great story about the photocopier man. That is the kind of service I am always looking for! Plus, I, too, believe in lauding good, dedicated work. He will appreciate you calling his boss. - roc

  • I am thrilled! So fortunate. I called today and passed on the info about the copier guy. Even the gal that answered the phone thought it was great. YAY! Made me happy.

  • I thought it was 'the difference between MEN and Boys' was the price of their toys.

    What's up with this?

Iowa has some god points to live living in it.

  • Yeah, but if you knew what I buy for myself on a yearly basis you would realize this is the purchase of a lifetime. I am excited to have a new tube of toothpaste!

  • Well, you deserve ALOT more than that.

    You're great!

  • Don't ya love it when life sends you nice people? Great cam, can't wait to see what it will bring. :) So good to see you again looking that your feeling better. You look great!

  • wow! you did get yourself a good deal there

    :-)

and i hope that you have a great time at the gathering!

  • I agree! Excellent deal

    and THANKS!

  • I was a church secretary for 14 years, and I do NOT miss the newsletter! It's nice when people surprise you :)

    Nice camera!

  • 14 years! And don't ya love it how 29 people notice one typo, but no one ever notices it when week after week it is perfect. :-)

  • Lol, I know just what you mean. I used to say instead of one boss, I had hundreds; and they all had an opinion! It was a good job to have while my son was growing up though, as it gave me more time with him.

  • YES! I agree with it all. I am grateful to have the job as it fits with my life so perfectly. For me it's all about being with my kids.

    HUGS!

  • You don't realize what an amazing deal you got. All that stuff would have cost over $700 easily! Cool stuff! You're going to love it!

    Have fun with Heff!

  • I do realize what a deal I got. I priced each item on ebay. Thank you so much for your advice!!!

  • You are amazing woman...daycare and 5 newsletters and homeschooling....I bow to you.

  • nah, it's all in the timing.

  • Sometimes life is good, eh? Congratulations on having things go your way. With kids being a large part of your life, it very often happens differently, so Kewl!!!! :)

  • It is fun when life is good, and I really thought that we so often only hear the bad. I wanted to share that sometimes good things happen too. :-)

  • Hope the camcorder works! I have just discovered that my new camera don't work on my sons computer, at least not the videos! The photos work fine.. :) You sure are keeping busy.. but you better bring a camera on your trip.. :) Love to see some of the journey! :)

  • I think this computer should work with the videos. I use Windows XP. Don't scare me!

    ;-)

  • yeah, I 'm just a wee bit protective of my friends. ;-0

  • The 15th? Of July? WOOT!

  • Get Cheryl over to the computer! Is she reading this yet? *waiting* cheryl, you can sleep with me. Maybe we should just make Rick sleep outside.

  • Great story about the Newsletter but WOAH on the camera and accessories!!!! SWEEEET! I love that camera, I don't have it but I've drooled over it. Wow you are going to Minneapolis'.. Say Hi to everyone and my Buck! lol So wish I could go, sounds awesome! You look so happy = )

  • It would be so fun to meet you! But you are going to 8/8/8 right? That one will be amazing!

  • Looked like you got a great deal on the camera, Yayyy. I've never had a video light. I'm not sure if I quite understand how a single pastor/minister can handle 5 churches? Apparently the churches have services at different times or something.

  • 1 Sunday Pastor preaches at 2 churches, Lay Minister preaches at 3. (Staggered times) Next week they switch. Times vary from 8am to 11am.

  • How do you find time to breath Mo! Your not looking after Tubeskankes baby are you? You are so forgiving lol.

    Nice camera wow.

  • TubeSkanke's baby musta had hormones in it's bottle, it is huge! I cannot even lift it. I shipped it back to TubeSkanke.

  • Good for you i bet it was all those donuts it kept eating lol. Its great to see you.

  • what a nice guy.

I have the same camera but paid way mor for it in Italy ...no extra anything - just the camera. I'm so jealous of the light!!!

have a fun trip! Something tells me the camera will come in handy.

  • So excited to play with the cam, the cassettes did not get in the box so I am waiting on those....waiting....waiting....

  • "Miracles are natural. When

    they do not occur something

    has gone wrong." Another anonymous

quote, but I think it can

    be applied to the good-hearted

    repairman.

  • That's a neat quote. I feel like what he did was above and beyond. The guy that normally comes would never have done that.

  • i never knew you were a secretary for some churches! that's like what my mum does too but not as a full time job. she's a piano teacher, but once a week she does the church newsletter and translates the priest's greek writing into english.

"...and yes i read instructions" haha i found that funny lol... i never follow instructions, i like to fiddle around

  • Secretary but most of the typing can be done at home, piano lessons, daycare and homeschool my kids. As for directions, I tend to skim over them while holding the item. Play a bit, read a bit.

  • do you teach piano as well?

  • That copier repair guy sound like I was when I work computer service, going the extra to make the customer happy, Problem with that was when my boss got a call from the customer instead of pats on the back I got gripped at for doing to much.. lol No good deed goes unpunsihed. lol I still recieved a service excellence award for 1991 and the next year was looking for another job due to Downsizing... lol

    Peace n Love,

    Allen

  • I know that when people called in to praise my hubby he appreciated it. I try to always pass along praise when it is worthy. :-)

  • Wow, that IS cool. There should be more people like this Michael person.

Looks like a slick camera. Can't wait to see what you shoot with it in Minneapolis.

*Wish I could be there with you all*

  • I just had to share the good experience. And the camera makes me happy just to look at it. It has become my new "happy place". Materialistic much? LOL

  • HI MO! It's letting my comment. NOW LISTEN HERE.. Rick and I talked and we are staying until Sunday whether you like it or not. and are you going to force me to leave right when we get back to your house?! we still need to finish planning.. 35 days (:

  • You can stay as along as you want, I just need to let my daycare people know ASAP.

  • I will leave Monday, this way I don't have to drive back after already driving 3 hours on Sunday.. I'm a wimp that way? Let your daycare kids come that day, HEFFA WILL HELP *puts on cape* bahaha

  • What an awesome repair man! Love your new camera..I am so jealous. I so need to get one of those before June. 35 more days missy! I can't wait to see you and Heffa!!! We are gonna have so much fun! You're staying until Sunday!!!

  • The repair man was amazing! What a sweet guy. And I had to have the new cam before I meet you!!!!!! (And to see Rick during his midnight pee runs)

  • The copier guy sounds wonderful and I'm happy everything is going so well for you :)

  • Well, I figured I shared some bad news earlier, it was about time I shared some good.

  • :) we are glad you did!

  • Which song? There were 2 songs, one of which repeated.

  • They say what you give comes back ten fold so the copier guy thing (although it was really nice) didn't surprise me for who it was for. :)

  • Why thank you! Took me a minute to understand what you meant. I cannot wait to get a free minute to call his employer.

(Have you heard the Des Moines news lately? UGH! Let's move!!!!)

  • I can be a little hard to read sometimes... I think it's the keyboard... it was put together only using their thumbs.

  • I walk up to a copier and it breaks, which means in any office I've worked in, I don't have to make copies (and it's not deliberate on my part).

I'm like Twish...I don't read directions, I've just been learning my camera by using it!

  • Copiers usually love me! I tend to be the one who teaches others. This one just needed a new face I think. :-)

I actually skim directions and then go back as needed.

  • cool deal on the camcorder...that was the 30g hdd right? i bought my hdd camcorder at bestbuy. i almost bought that one but while playing with it i noticed the focus on the zoom took a little too long for me. so i went with the sony 30g hdd..but it was 100 bucks off and i got it for $519 with a carring case.

ebay is cool when ya find the good stores. gotta watch out tho. the bad ones will getcha if ya dont pay attention.

  • I was told that the HD gives lots of troubles in relationship to YT. So this is not a HD. I rarely shop online, so when I do I am extra careful. Maybe once a year???? if that.

  • I always say the Lord works in mysterious ways! I think you should marry this Michael given how much you use that copier!... oh wait, forget it, you're already married! :)

  • I have arranged a temporary marriage.....during work hours only.

  • Oh yes, and the good deed by the angel Michael, WOW. God is good!

  • Michael, The Angel! Love all your cool things! You are living right!

    (((Hugs)))

    ~Mimi

  • AMEN! I thought of Michael the angel also. I am blessed. :-)

    hugs

  • Great score on the camera girlfriend! And CAN YOU MAKE ME ANY MORE JEALOUS? I say stay through 678 and go home on 9. Make the MOST out of the trip. You deserve it. I can just hear you and Heffa in the car now...Hook up the camera for the drive, I wanna be a fly on the wall for that one. I love you RiddleSpider!

  • TY, I plan on living there until I move to Texas. Tired of Iowa.....

    Love ya

  • We need to find out where he is and send him a Fruit basket or something. That is really wonderful.

    Congratulations on your new camera!

  • YES! My first goal is to call his employer. Then maybe cookies or something.

  • A cool week for you all around - with the copy guy and the video camera substitution. Maybe you should play the lottery before the week is over - hey - you never know. :)

  • OOH!!! Good idea! BRB!

    ;-)

  • I still don´t understand why you received the camera you suppoused to send to Argentina! congratulations for the new baby! You deserve the whole deal and the delivery guy also!

  • Sorry, I told them to send it to Argentina, but they refused.

  • I didn't know you were a pastor for 5 Churches, that's cool. nice panasonic,

  • I am the secretary! LOL Not the pastor. My degree is in psychology, not religion. :-)

  • Oh lol I meant secretary don't know why I said pastor.

  • LOL! That's OK. :-)

  • I am so happy that the person helped you! God works in mysterious ways. Sometimes he calls on people to help without us knowing it!

    That camera is great!

  • As for God working, there is more to the camera story in that area. So exciting to see neon signs pointing to God.

  • That's great that you got the camera with all of those extras thrown in. As for Mike, well that goes above and beyond the customer service you would expect. Kudos to him!

  • Thanks! I am going to call the company tomorrow and tell them. His employer needs to know.

  • You scored big on the camera and stuff. I got mine on Amazon and I felt like I got a good deal, but nothing like yours. Cool.

  • Van, there is more to the story, but I will have to email or skype ya. Takes a minute to explain and I just found out about it.

  • I NEVER read directions, I can't stand them.

  • What? Sorry, I didn't read your comment.

LOL (I skim and then go back as necessary)

  • That was so good of him to do the copies for you. And,he got to see if,or if not,the machine would jam doing that many copies. I hope he did do something before running the job. that way you could attribute that to why it didn't jam again

I think this whole event could go on the WWGN channel,as everything just went well.

  • I think that the copier just likes males better, either that or it was a humidity issue.

  • I got all warm and fuzzy hearing about that copy guy's good deed.

Gosh, you sound about 100 light years busier than I am. You go girl! But get your beauty rest.

  • I am still excited about the copier guy. He has no idea how he blessed me.

Beauty rest?!!! Why do you think I look like I do?!! LOL

  • That was super nice and must have been a huge relief!

  • HUGE HUGE HUGE relief. :-)

  • Awesome that he did that! Wish I could be @ the meet-up.

  • I agree, I need to make him cookies or something.

The meet-up will be a blast no matter what, I have a few really good friends who will be there. I would be so fun to meet you! We could drink Nescafe or Folgers together (LOL!)

  • You do have a packed schedule, whew.

The camera package you got looks like a great deal, so now you'll be doing a video a day like nalts used to, right?

  • (PLUS Homeschool and YOUTUBE and Twitter) LOL

    Nalts? who is that?

  • Some bloke here on youtube...

  • Oh, thanks, I might have to check him out.

  • maybe the copier just needed some alone time...

mailorder always feels like i'm getting a present...because i usually forget i've ordered anything by the time it comes ;)

  • The copier is female and just responds better to males/mails. ;-)

I did not forget this! I met the UPS guy at the curb.

  • in that case maybe you spend some quality time with the copier. share some wine with it...perhaps something...um...fruity and...um...elegant...

  • I spend enough time with the copier.....trust me. Fruity and elegant? Who could that be?

  • Woo hoo!! Loving the deluxe camera package of goodies. Fun stuff... =)

Bummed I'll miss 678, I hope Rickita survives the madness...

  • You will have a great time while we are in Minnesota. I expect LOTS of pictures!!!

  • Love the new camera and all the toys that came with it. Boy you have a full life. I remember being young and had energy to spare but not anymore. I am so glad you are going to the youtube gathering.. You need a break.. How is MIL doing ? Manners getting better or worse ??

  • I am sure that your life is overly full right now. Praying for ya!

MIL thinks she is all cured, thinks there is no need for counseling..... that equals some problems. Thanks for asking.

  • yeah dats Michael Payne my great nephew , I called him fo ya

  • Thank you! He was sure a sweety!
