Yes strangely the US flag patch is sewn wrong side out. "Detainee"' sounds even worse than "prisoner". It's like they're trying to deny the reality of the fact. The arrow pointing to Mecca everywhere is an attempt to show respect for the prisoners'religion but instead is disrespectful because it is a religious reminder that appears in the most incongruous places.

Some courageous visitor should volunteer to be force-fed every time there's a tour so other visitors can witness what it's like.

Before 9/11, Haïtians who were intercepted at sea trying to reach US shores were incarcerated in Guantanamo. They were not in individual cells like suspected criminals or terrorists but they were kept inside the wire and couldn't go out. They never got a chance to reach the continental US.

@giampow Yes, the flag is correct. It's called "reverse field." It is NOT sewn on "inside out" or backwards. It's on the right sleeve of the uniform because that is consistent with flag etiquette. That means the flag always goes on IT'S right - the soldier goes on the flag's left. Visualize carrying a flag pole while 'moving forward.'
