  • Rocky Sullivan died a yellow!...(just to please his friend....)

  • cagney in a tux shooting it out with the cops what a dashing gangster he made in this film .his best.

  • music is too loud

  • The line, "You dirty rat!" was never said verbatim by James Cagney, although he did say something similar, "Mmm, that dirty, double-crossin' rat," in Blonde Crazy (1931).

In Angels With Dirty Faces (1938), another character playing a gangster shoots his girlfriend, while saying, "Take that, you dirty rat."

  • he never said u dirty rat in any of his gangster pictures...i know because im his no 1 fan thats my boy...my fav actor....i seen all of his movies..r.i.p rocky sullivan.....

  • You dirty rat, you!

  • Rocky did NOT die a Coward! You can see it in his eyes right before he enters the room. He gave in to Jerry's request so that he would not become a martyr to the gang who worshiped him. He was NO Coward!!

  • @barbarasprague

Thank you for pointing that out, we'll all put that in the Shit Everybody Knows File.

  • @TheJomogogo WOW! You have a "Shit Everybody Knows" File.

Some people think the Opposite that he Did die a coward, Smart Ass!

  • @barbarasprague

I saw this movie when I was 8 years old and I KNEW Rockie played the tough guy with Pat O'Brien, the priest, but at the last minute had a change of heart and pretended to beg for his life.

EVERYBODY knew that when watching the film unless they were retarded. Like you.

  • can't hear half the dialogue over the fucking gay music

  • This is shit! Leave it alone!

  • I hope they remembered to put the wet sponge on his head.

  • One of my favorite movies of all time. Way ahead of it's time. The baketball scene, and the final scene are superbly done. 5 Stars...

  • Good choice of film but the music isn't mixed very well with the dialogue. Its almost impossible to understand what the actors are saying.

  • why did you add the music? give your ego a day off, mug.

  • band of brothers theme at the end

  • the music u added is fucken annoying!

  • I seen this movie soo many times.. and I still cant figure of he died yellow..Wow great film

  • I waited 15 years to do that.....

  • Great tribute and great music. I was just waiting to see the last scene where, the priest asks Rocky to look afraid to die so the Dead End Kids don´t follow his example, for me the best scene because it shows that even though he was tough he didn´t need to appear tough. It was overstated already. Great vid nevertheless!

  • I first saw 'Angels with dirty faces' when I was 7 years old, I have lost count the amount of times I have sat and watched this film since then. For me this is one of the greatest films of all times featuring THE GREATEST actor of all times, James Cagney.

  • my father introduced me to this film when I was young,Im 29 now

  • @ResidentGerm my father was the same with me now im 24 and i still watch it

  • one of the best actors ever James cagney.

  • Great movie great message it brings gang bangers take a lesson.

  • where in the movie is the part where home alone coppied it i cant find it?

  • I was lucky enough to see this movie in a real movie theatre when they were showing old movies. Cagney was magnetic and just dominated the screen. You can't really appreciate him on television.

  • No one else has ever come close to Cagney for screen presence. The camera loved him and his aura had you locked onto the screen from beginning to end.Cagney is probably responsible, single handedly, for luring countless millions around the world to the cinema and everyone who saw Cagney got more than their moneysworth of entertainment.

  • i always loved watching the old james cagney black and white movies....he really did have presence,no doubt!

  • Pure class!!

  • Just a movie! But many still find a problem. How do you exspect to make a living? "You have not past America? Then you have no future!!!

  • I love you Rocky Sullivan from Perù Josè Burga

  • Cagney wrote the book for DeNiro and all the others!

  • Except for one thing.Cagney was better than all of them.Cagney was the greatest.Only the Sonny Corleone (James Caan) character approaches Cagney.

  • Could James Cagney possibly be more famous than Robert De Niro? or is that a stupid question?

  • Cagney is one of the top 5 of all time. His oscar he won for Yankee Doodle Dandy showed he could be more than a mobster. Awards for James Cagney More at IMDbPro » advertisementAcademy Awards, USA Year Result Award Category/Recipient(s) 1956 Nominated Oscar Best Actor in a Leading Role for: Love Me or Leave Me (1955) 1943 Won Oscar Best Actor in a Leading Role for: Yankee Doodle Dandy (1942) 1939 Nominated Oscar Best Actor in a Leading Role for: Angels with Dirty Faces (1938
  • My all time favorite gangster movie! Watch it at least once a week- love it. Cagney is phenomenal - best gangster to ever hit the screen. He will live on forever. Thanks for posting :)

  • One of the most dramatic gangster films i've seen. James Cagney did a GREAT job in this movie.

  • es junto a casanova de felini y la naranja mecanica de kubric una de mis tres pelis favoritas, saludos de Peru

  • In 1975 I drove 40 mmiles to see this movie during lunchbreak before the vcr, n i am reminded in this u tube,...why i did that. The song background would have been better with remember the times of your life.

  • This is probably Cagney's greatest film. But the music is from a far better movie ;)

  • The Roaring Twenties is Cagney's best. But this was awful close.

  • Once Upon A Time in America is Better than Angels With Dirty Faces then is it? . Yeah right, stop smoking it dude, it's doing funny things to ya.

  • great video!:-)great film!

  • Thanks.

  • @hans50000 Music is a bit distracting though...

  • great film gangster-movie!:-)great cagney!

  • the true original gangster!

  • That was deliberately done! He had to pretend to be a coward the priest his best friend asked him to ! IN order to prevent the kids on the streets from becoming like him

  • thaanks, music is not depressing, is perfectly choosen the soundtrack of 'Once upon a time in america, which this film has a lot to do, especially the story of the kids. Even you have make your own final for the film!! thanks :)

  • Great video, music is kinda depressing :(
