Question: In your first video, you mentioned that you were beginning to feel skeptical about your treatment; therefore, my question is why you didn't seek out a different therapist. Sounds like you may have been a victim of a fraudulent therapy practice. Did you ever see the credentials of these people?
they put that in your head.It seems you realize that.Always seemed to me they did that to rack up points so they could keep appearing to be "right" & you're "wrong" & that's just all. It's a wonder they didn't call your folks & tell them what all was said in sessions like they did me.Ethics? HA ! I have the same diagnosis. They took a perfectly awesome 105lb doll w a brain & dreams & turned her into a near 300lb couch potatoe w no goals. It made them HAPPY to do this. They SUCK !
This lady needs to lose her license ASAP. The advice she gave you about your boyfriend at the time was off-the-charts crazy unprofessional, and in a serious clinical practice she would have gotten her ass kicked to the curb soooooo fast. I'm really sorry you had to endure this quackery. First rate wackaloon.
I had a very similar experience with one of these hack therapists when I was between the ages of 15 and 17. Chakra healing, incense, past life regressions, tarot reading, remote viewing, etc. She claimed she was a psychic and could sense dark energy around me and told my mother I had borderline personality disorder (a VERY serious diagnosis)Once she asked if I was hitting on her completely out of the blue, based on what she was "reading in my aura" *shudders*.Thankfully, no free massages
I think you are one of the sanest woman in the world! Therapy shmerapy, what you gonna do now, as you obvioslly would make an excellent therapist in the light of your dismal theraputic experience. Go girl go! Your the tops! x
Interesting that you slipped this comment in, right at the very end of this vid, like an aside, you could almost have missed it, as if like a freudian slip. Interesting that the justification came IMMEDIATELY following your genuine expression of emotion towards the therapist "fucking duh!" hence to balance or justify it. Always keeping with & listening to what your gut tells you- the fucking duh, is how you defend against this, with unhealthy, manipulative, abusive people is what I'm learning.
"Maybe I didn't tell her, in a way, that MADE HER realise the immediacy of how unhealthy my relationship with this man was" RIGHT THERE! Not your responsibility! You are barely an adult, if at all, the client in this senario etc etc Watch this, this is justifying and exactly what any unhealthy/abusive person uses. e.g. "Maybe I didn't tell him/her in a way that MADE them realise, I didn't want those abusive words, touches, punches."
Suite the basters.Worse is the pseudoscience in Substance Use Disorder treatment not only pseduoscience, but a lot of violation of patients civil rights, unethical behavior from the part of staff. They sleep well by blaming their lack of preformence on the characteristics of the patients. The crap is unbelievable. They are well meaning mediocrity declaring true what which is not so and inventing evidence to promote a pet theory or hypothesis. They should be sacked. We need a consumer movement.
@67576856666478964567 Yes, when you add the 'have,' as in the contraction for "I have" - I've - you can HAVE seen me. You can't just seen me; that's when you saw. English itself isn't anal retentive, I am. I hate to see it butchered into little pieces by people who can't use it properly.
WHOA. I can totally relate to the part about being in a toxic relationship and your therapist encourages you to stick with it. That happened to me too (the details are different, of course). Thing is, a lot of psychotherapy is based on the idea that the surface problems ALL stem from a person's inner issues. It's ALL internal, never external. The problem is ALWAYS you. This helps therapists to keep people in therapy for ages, and earn a steady income.
therpay is supposed to be strictly confidential,,..to have another person in there overhearing things without your permission is against the law is it not??
(sorry for doubble posting) ok, im 16, and a joke when it comes to how much i know about psychology and you know what, if you came to ME about any of those things, i would have told you to get away from that guy (the boyfriend you talked about) at the words "emotionaly abused" i would have just stopped you and told you to get away from him
Okay - as Kabloomybuzz noted a psychotherapist can't diagnose mental disease - that requires a psychiatrist to dx -usually meds are needed to manage it. This "therapist" was all over the map - going from Chakra therapy to Freudian therapy (all about your dad). Your ex sounds like my 1st husband - extremely abusive, but they are always charmers in the public eye. They are master manipulators, and any therapist with half a brain can see through that. Obviously this therapist had no brain.
Yes, quacks will often try to find a person in your life to direct your anger and frustration towards.
I suspect it helps cover up the fact they don't know what they're doing, while isolating you from people who could tell you that you're seeing a dishonest idiot.
Can you let me know what credentials the therapist that diagnosed you with bi-polar has. It sounds like they might have broken the law by giving diagnoses without the neccesary qualifications to do so.
I honestly have no idea because I can't find much about her credentials. I know she has a bachelor's in psychology and a masters in social work, both from reputable universities. However, the part that confuses me is that she lists herself as also having a private license in two states and she also works in a private practise. So I honestly don't know what they spells for me trying to uphold a moral code with the law having my back.
Sounds like she's most likely not a qualified MD but a 'private[ly] licence[d]' psychotherapist, therefore she was most likely practicing medicine without a licence when she gave you the diagnosis of bipolar disorder (a federal offence carrying up to 5 years in jail).
I said in another comment CPS involved somehow... YUP !
I'd LOVE to know how they got this all in their heads 2:08 a TIMER seems to have been set in your head & it worked like clockwork ! You were made into a walking timebomb waiting to happen. You may as well have had a little key in your back like a wind up toy ! I'm sorry but this is all too clear ! I hope hope hope you sue their a** off & run them out of town ! OMG 2nd time watching
A psychotherapist cannot medically diagnose you with anything... only a doc or psychiatrist... the annoying flipside is that some people can't get diagnosed or get the help they need when they need it. and get discharged as soon as they come out of child health services and are not ill enough for adult services (personal expderience)
In the beginning of the video I had the mental image of a therapist diagnosing people for bi-polar disorder with a magnet on a string. I say beginning of the video because my funny bone was pretty numb by the end. God damn! People providing professional psychological counselling need to be regulated in method not just educational merit, especially where teenagers/youths and other "at risks" are concerned. How is that not a no-brainer?
Oh, and your therapist? She's obviously sincere. She's just a dumb bitch. Problem with stupid people is that they hurt the world more than they can comprehend.
It sounds like the whole clinic was tarot and chakra based. Not just your therapist.
And it's probably going to be harder than you think to revoke her license. Psuedoscience is a huge business.
I don't even know where to start. What you experienced happens. It happens more often than most people think. Whether you can sue and win, doubtful. But you can report her.
Sometimes projection occurs with a therapist. There are piss poor therapists out there. And it sounds like you got a very bad one. Did she specialize in people of your age? That is very important.
@PandyFackleresque ANyone who is licensed through the state can be looked up online through that states's licensing site and a report filed against them. Once the report is filed an investigation occurs and generally their license is suspended during this time. Have you attempted looking her up this way?
Bi-polar? So you sleep with both genders of Polar Bears?
Interesting ..... Did you have chilling orgasms? Haha.
