  • May Music Resolve our Scars;

    Let our Tears seed Love.

    May we,be Forever.

  • Read about the unbelievable adventures of Dr. Lloyd Miller traveling and performing through the Middle East and beyond by going to the jazzscope website and clicking on Sufi, Saint & Swinger.

  • Greetings and thanks for your kind words. Yes, master musician Amir Khosro broght the three-string setar from the Persian culture sphere to India where the strings multiplied under the influence fo the Vina giving it a nice echo effect.

    Dr. Lloyd Miller

  • Great music, just fabulous! Just one question: is the Persian setar the prototype for the Indian sitar? I think I heard that somewhere (although to my ears, the two instruments sound very little alike . . .)

  • salam i wander whether you have more of ostad razavi or ostad khansaari?thank you.

  • Hi,

    Thanks for sharing this unique video. I knew Ostad Razavai very well. He lived in Shiraz (my hometown) before moving to Tehran. He was famous for his humble behaviour and spiritual mood. Peace be upon him!

  • Salam, Yes Dr. Safvat is still active and I heard he gave a concert a while back in Tehran. He and a few true masters of authentic 'baten' (internal) rather than 'zaher' (external, showy) music are respected and encouraged which is the way it should be. Lloyd Miller

  • Thanks ever so much Dr.Miller for sharing this unique performance of late Razavi who died in anguish and poverty in Iran.God Bless his soul.Any news from Dr,Safvat?He is also an asset for our music!

  • Salam, Unfortunately this little clip is all I have of my beloved teacher and friend Daryush Safvat and of Razavi whom we all fondly enjoyed when the Center for Preservation and Propagation was in full action during the 1970s. Thank you for appreciating the true traditional sound of these two spiritually oriented master artists. Dr. Lloyd Miller

  • Simply outstanding. Thank you for sharing.

  • Thanks a million Doctor Miller. Masnavi is not rhythmically complex enough to show their talent in avaz. Please post and play more.
