i have been using alot of heat on my hair blowdry, flat iron and noticed a significant texture change have you noticed the same? i did use aphogee protein treatment to help keep my hair strong as i "heat train" do you consider yourself heat trained?
Hi I love your videos and sent you a hair question in your inbox. Basically about blow drying, my protective styles are french braids, since I have weekly swim class. thank you for your time
Did u get the dr. bronners styling creme from your local bss or order it online? I have never seen it in person b4, it sounds like a good product. Oh, and Your hair is mouthwatering, lol =)
ohh i cant wait until you cut it all off - i am tryin to do this transition and girl... .. lol ..anyway, i must say that even your relaxed hair had fullness and body to it and seems to have been processed properly - I love the thickness
Nina, you are such an inspiration to me while on this journey. I am currently 4 months post-relaxer & my hair is about the same length as yours. I am having a difficult time detangling after I shampoo, even with the Knot Today recipe. Do you have any suggestions? I really appreciate your videos & help.
continued from previous post: THANK YOU so much for sharing your regimen over the months with women who desire natural, healthy hair. You are amazing ~~ continued success, BLESSINGS & GOD'S GRACE!! Girl, and let me tell you; I would personally pay you to take of my hair if I could; LOL
Nina - you are absolutely STUNNING & you seem to possess the inner beauty to match your obvious outer beauty. I am thoroughly enjoying your videos/tutorials. I am learning so much. Due to an incompetent beautician & Essations Naked Relaxer taking the right section of MY HAIR OUT TO THE SCALP, I am now 7 months post relaxer. Prior to that, I was 14 months post relaxer. Now after watching your videos, I'm going to attempt to STAY NATURAL this time. You have so much knowledge!!!
Nina- why did you say to only deep condition for an hour or less????. Is it damaging to do it longer??? just wondering. your hair looks great- thank you for the great vids
Just wanted to say Nina those of us who KNOW you are aware you were almost waist length before you decided to go natural so I wouldn't even sweat the supposed young ladies on here spewing GARBAGE about your length. It is so comical that when you click on their pages there is NOTHING there except a bunch of rude comments about others not one uploaded hair video even though they comment on hair as if they are GURUS! Love you Honey keep up the good work!!! I've learned so much from You.
don't cut ur hair just let it grow out its so beautiful I didn't cut mine I just stoped perming it its hard work but worth it I love ur hair its so nice
have you tried it's a ten miracle leave-in? google it.... it has many uses ...heat-protectant, detangle, etc. for my hair (4a/b) it works better than knot today and it smells really nice too :) it can be purchased online or at ULTA.
So glad I found you Nina! Been stretching for years, just didnt know what it was. But because I didnt know what I was doing, lots of breakage. Its been about 12 weeks since my last relaxer, so after seeing your video I would like to keep it going. Would like some quick start tips on what to do now. Cant get all the products mentioned, but would like to start somewhere. What do you suggest (core essentials) for someone on a tight budget? Luv your hair!
Just wanted to say thanks for making your video. I never big chopped either, I let it grow out then got tired of seeing the 2 different textures and would cut it a couple time a week, lol. I use Shea Moisture mix too, but I also like to make my own mixtures. Do you still use your Shea butter mix?
Hey Nina, Keep up the good work! I truly understand your frustration-- I transitioned for 27 MONTHS!!!!! I started getting difficult about the 20th month and then one day I put the scissors to it. So persevere, you'll do it when you're ready :) BTW weight loss secrets please.... thnx
@ninapruitt I went all natural for almost 2 years and then broke down and got another perm. The summers just wasn't fun for me, I tend to sweat a lot and my hair would get so frizzy and I was always flatironing my hair so i gave up. watching your videos make me want to try again. where do you get most of your products?
Nina, your hair looks great. Love the texture shots. I know the feeling of anxiously awaiting your goal date for BC. You are doing a marvelous job in staying focused toward your goal. Keep up the good work and Blessings.
I just commented on one of your old vids before seeing this lol anyways you make me not want to get a relaxer. I might just do things differently to help me stretch better & yeah, seeing tht it's possible to control all that new growth makes me want to do it lol I'm bad at controlling it .
Greetings Ms. Pruitt! It is great to see you again. Your hair looks absolutely beautiful. Do you not use your shea butter mix in your hair at all now?
I'm new to my healthy hair journey and I'm 11 mths post relaxer. I'm also new to your youtube videos. I love all of them! I had the same question about the Fantasia IC...do you still use it and if not, is there a reason? I'm still learning my hair and what it likes. Thanks in Advance :)
Great video! I love creme of nature conditioner as well but my new staple is Joico Intense Hydrator. I use it alone for a deep conditioner and it is soooo moisturizing! And if my hair is really dry I add 1 tsp of pure honey and 1 tsp of unrefined coconut oil. My hair loves it! You should try it.
Hey u! We have missed u terribly Lady! My speakers r blown out&I can't hear a word you're saying but as I long as I c your face&know that ur ok I'm good! Lolz! :-)
I missed you and you look really tone :). I am wondering how do you keep your hair from reverting to kinky and especially while you work out. I worked out last night and my hair looked terrible. HELP!
Nina! I'm so glad you're back. your hair is F A B. I say no big chop.. I almost at 2.5 year transition... also at MBL and inching towards waist... let's do this together!!
Great products! I use some of the same ones. The coconut oil is my Fav/staple oil. I feel the same about the SM Masque. It dried my hair and I was not impressed.
You are definately my hair inspiration! I would have big chopped a long time ago if I hadn't found your videos. You give me hope that I can still manage my two textures until Im good and ready =)
@onecheapchic Lately I've been straightening wkly. Products that contains silicone definitely make my hair more managable, eliminates frizz and flyaways!
@ninapruitt silicone helps with managing my hair too..but is silicone good to use..cause i plan to use the argon oil line which has silicone in it..is this good or should i alternate shampoos???? thnks
you seem like you'd be such a nice friend.. you are so sweet and soft spoken! Your new grwoth is BEAUTIFUL!!! You appear to be a 3c at most. The better you treat your hair, the more you realize how much looser your curl pattern is- I bleieve you've mentioned this before, how your hair is now very similar to your daughter's. Well keep up the good work and thanks for the video!
glad ur back with another educational ahir vid, so helpful. i will defo try the products and regime, its strange because i dont know who created the hair number type thingy, u know the 3a, 4a etc, because my hair is 4 type but i've seen so many people with 4 type that hair is nothing like mine, my hair is dry and frizzy and knots and its a nightmare, i guess i need some help how to manage, i'm newly natural, but these vids have been helping. u look great too. ciao x
You look fabulous!! You have been an all time favorite of mine on Hairlista. I have been constantly checking to see if you had uploaded any new videos and I was so excited to see this new video. I'm so happy to see you back doing video's. I'm now 7mos. post and you are one of my biggest inspirations ! You look so good ( lost some weight ) and the hair is gorgeous ! Thank you so much !!!
I use to use the Deep Moisture from Shea Moisture....I didnt really like it because it didnt do anything special for me...You growth looks great! The Curls line also has a great product called lavish curls moisturizer....Do share on your weight loss!
congratulations on ur hair journey. u have tons of healthy new growth! u know, if u don't want to do a big chop u don't have to. u can simply trim a bit the relaxed ends now n then and get rid of them gradually
So! I've also been transitioning for over a year and also plan to BC in January of 2012...who knows maybe Feb...idk, but one thing I do know is I love watching ur videos! :)
I had the same experience with the Deep Treatment Masque. I know it doesn't contain protein, but it made my hair feel like straw. I love their restorative conditioner though:)
OMGosh!!..this is a sign!..i was just thinking about giving up on transitioning today since i have been experiencing soo much breakage. You were my motivation...i came on youtube to watch some videos and I saw that you have uploaded new videos!!...ok..back on the grind again. Love your videos....the drought was too long.hope you are able to make more when you have time...be safe! :)
@dalgis85 Nina was very inspiring to me early on in my transition. Keep on pushing girl! How far along are you? I transitioned for 11 mos and 360 days and had enough. . .LOL! I bc'd about a month ago and I am happy w/my decision. It's true when they say you'll know when it's time.
@MsChanteJ72 3months and I'm dying already!! :/ it seems fine after i wash..but after i towel dry the hair it becomes another story....even though i detangle in the shower. I will stay strong tho....Thank You very much for the encouragement :)
I can't wait until I get to where you are. I'm only 6 months post at the moment. Has your texture loosened from straightening it? I've been afraid to straighten my hair more than twice a month. I don't want to ruin my curls
Meant to write beautiful...You know. Sorry.

I can't wait until I get to where you are. I'm only 6 months post at the moment. Has your texture loosened from straightening it? I've been afraid to straighten my hair more than twice a month. I don't want to ruin my curls

Do you use the kinky curly as is or do you mix it with something.
