king school videos are very good and helpfull but getting your private ticket will commit a lot of time and money. i was afraid of the machine at the begining.but once you are the master of the aircraft you will loose that fear and really enjoy flying. once airborne all your troubles disapear at lease till u land
Heh, this guy is a little corny, but you really learn to like him. He's one of those feel good type guys who makes you smile a lot. I really enjoyed my King course.
I've got a stack of King's DVDs ...sorry I have to admit that they were passed down to me by the owner of the plane I fly.But at any rate, they're fantastic.Sometimes when I have nothing better to do I'll sit here for hours reviewing them.Great stuff.
The video from King was a way for me to prepare a little bit for my checkride back in July 09, some differences compared to JAA rules but most part of operating a Cessna 172 and the moments of the checkride was really good to watch and reherse. Takes me back to the days before the checkride, going trough the checkride protocol, watching King videos, reading extra on VMC-minimas, airpaces etc etc... :-)
This instructor seems much more organized, relaxed and professional than the one I had. If I were in the market, I would definitely consider his services.
Confident and capable demeanor is very important to flying and driving students. Driving students get nervous; Flying students, doubly so.
Nerves interfere with the learning process, so calm, clear, precise instructions and demonstrations really help.
If I were to get back into flying, I'd like to review with videos like these.
@OldSchoolSkill That was the reason I decided to stop. I'm a little fearful of flying and I found my instructor to be very pushy and demanding. I always felt that if I made a mistake I'd get a telling off, and when you're paying £130 for an hours flight, I don't need to be made to feel small
True moss235, but you gotta realize that CFIs are the most underrated bunch. they are literally risking their lives training newbies like yourself. what if you pull the yoke completely aft while take off, or yoke completely left? it can stall and crash from an unrecoverable spin close to the ground!
i got your entire private's video series on VHS ....waaaaay.... back in the mid 90's. was a great series. This was before people even knew what a DVD was. I can safely say, at the time was the best investment I ever made at the time. I even remember the Sanoma flight in the Mooney.
I've ordered all my PPL ground school material from King Schools, cant wait to get started. I really wish I could take my PPL flight training from John...he seems so relaxed and would be easy to talk to...
The kings do it so well, its important to think that the examiner is just another passenger, and all you need to do is fly as you would solo. It decreases stress I think. BTW, I just made that up :>.
Montgomery, my other airport beside Gillespie where I fly in the late 80s. nothing seems to have changed.

Kings are great at all their DVDs and CDroms.
I have taken both the Sports Pilot and Private Pilot certificates through them.

King Schools is absolutely great. It sounds costly, but it saves you THOUSANDS in class and flight instruction. It is totally worth it.

This guy reminds me SO MUCH of my dad, right down to the way he talks. I can't wait to get my PPL, a bit costy though.
