BlackWater is a legal entity under US law so the problem, if you think there is one, lies with US constitution. What they do in Iraq is in the grey area of legality but it is the US government which looks the other way. How do they work outside law though? BlackWater is a legal entity under US law so the problem, if you think there is one, lies with US constitution. What they do in Iraq is in the grey area of legality but it is the US government which looks the other way. How do they work outside law though? Legally they are not performing any direct combat missions in that the primary objectives of their missions are classed as providing "secuirty" and thus they are classed as Militrary Secuirty not Merceneries.

In truth not much of their money goes towards buy better equipment. Most goes to paying men and leasing office space. As well travel costs for a few hundred to Iraq, plus trucks, plus gas, plus etc means the profit margin is rather small. It is the individuals who come home with big money not the corp. Most 3rd party militaries do small jobs that pay a lot. I suspect that blackwater wishes it had not made this deal with the USA.

Last point...point 3) Statistically these private armies suffered higher losses than coalition troops. These are not hollywood supermen who drive all over kick ass. In reality they are poorly trained, poorly armed, and their military vehicles (which they provide themselves) are NEVER armored to US military specs. Most people in Blackwater or any other group died due to roadside bombs and to date no equipment such at Syracuse Research Corp's "Duke" have been sold to them.

Groups like blackwater were instead used in a limited way to guard civilian assets in iraq so that people like politicians and such could have better security. However, they failed in this respect too. English, American, Nigerian, Polish, and Spanish mercs all showed a complete lack of assessment in combat shooting at civilians (which their contracts with the USA forbid) and shooting at marked vehicles, namely the marked vehicles owned by the intermediate iraq government.

In iraq the National Guard is used for babysitting base perimeters and such. Many of the 3rd party military forces were meant to replace these soldiers, however, they proved ineffective and hard to control (the ones from africa and east europe to more specific). So the Guardsmen were used again.

American military involved in the same situations, however, followed ROE and killed the enemy most of the time with few or no injuries to civilians. Facts: They really suck.

I disagree, I think the Central Intelligence Agency is far closer to a modern day Praetorian Guard than Blackwater or any other private military contractors. Blackwater, TripleCanopy and others far more closely resemble the professional killer mercenary armies that empires have historically relied upon for their imperial policing. These include the Gurkhas, the French Foreign Legion, the sepoys, or any of the murderous goon squads in Latin America.

all blood is innocent. besides you dont think the soldiers/blackwater families have to deal with the same things??? in WW2 there were 70 million casualties...over half were civilians. there are civilian casualties in all wars and its not just blackwater that are killing them. the U.S./British armed forces are responsible for hundreds of dead civilians in the middle east...its war....there are no "off limits targets"
