At the time of making it I didn't have a YouTube account and it didn't even enter my train of thought to upload it. I pretty much made it as something fun for me to do at the time.
There are a few novels being written as we speak. They describe what happened between gw and gw2. (Its a sort of introduction to gw2) Im going to buy them myself too!
The majority of the video is indeed in the original introduction, most of the work was trimming down the editing to flow with the song better, though the shots between 0:50 and 1:07 were recorded by me, as well as the elementalist footage at the end.
Awesome video! I used one site for the last 2 weeks to buy Guild Wars Trilogy and it was actually pretty easy and fast to do. I didn't invest one penny into the site and I was surprised it was legit and worked and I got paid! I bought the game on eBay with the money I made. If you want the game and don't want to spend money of your own check out my vid, and you too can earn money online to buy GW or whatever you want! I'm serious though, it worked. I have payment proofs.
no.. ascalon has become a ghost town, haunted by the vengful spriets of the fallen ascalonans, a place where the charr wont even tred.. they moved in the area yes... but they wont go near the runins of ascalon city.. and nothing will clam the spriets until someone of the royal line of the king of ascalon returns to put them to rest.. i love ascalon i dont like the sounds of guild wars 2
Ascalon City itself becomes a ghost town, populated by the vengeful spirits of its former citizens who slay all who dare enter. A legend says that if one of the two relics of Ascalon's sundered royal line, the flaming swords of Rurik and Adelbern, are returned to Ascalon, then the spirits will finally be at rest. Lion's Arch is eventually rebuilt and becomes the new portal into the Mists.
What scene does this song appear in? That is why it nagged at me, and was famaliar! Now I'll have to purchase a copy of the movie (which I'd wanted to do anyway) and watch it again.
I just saw this because i heard of GW2. GW2 is on another lvl graphic (still dont know gameplay tho) ;P:P

I get chills from how well the music fits the scenes. It was epic in the game, but it's even more epic with this music added! Great job!

"A short video I made a while ago"
just a polite question, but why did you make it a while ago and then upload it after a while? :D

Easily one of the best moments in gaming. It made you care about what was happening which is unusal in games these days.

There is a guild wars film?

Er, no? It's a game. People who play it just make shorts, sometimes humorous, sometimes not. ;)

What song did you use for this video? It's very apt, haunting... Well done on evoking what you feel once you are through the Searing.

The song is Eric Serra's "Protect Life", from the 5th Element soundtrack. It's one of my personal favourites. :)
