  • Thank you. this cleared up some things a lil bit -__-

  • another way to find period use the formula 2pi/2(x2-x1) where you have the first maximum point and the first minimum formula.

  • bkhan, please explain how trigonometric funtions and their graphs will help to build planes and engines, and software.

  • thank God for Khan!

  • Hands down.. :)

  • I don't understand how you figure out if its a sin or cos function. could you please explain that again?

  • @misharockz1 you can use either using certain transformations. however if you look at a peak to peak, its easiest to use cosine.

  • dude you Are a math GOD !!!!

you have no idea how much you've helped me!

    thank you so much!!!!!

  • Liked. Commented. Subscribed. Shared. Favorited. Embedded. Jizzed. Whatever the fuck else there is, I did. THis video changed my life; why cant my math teacher learn how to teach?

  • You are brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I wish the period of my girlfriend was only 4 Pi.

    Hahaha, just kidding. I don't have a girlfriend ._.

  • you freakin rule man.

  • Hey Khan! Great job on these videos! I have admit, the academic and intellectual value of your videos are astounding. On some topics, I am skeptical of what I hear, and often wondering how people come up with this info. But with math, some of this seems to go way back into history, and has some credibility. Plus you've built some trust between me and your institution. And I will certainly consider any advice, warnings, or signs you have alluded to when plowing through these calculations.

  • Could you show me how to do this without a graph, with just a word problem?

  • Wow!...you have helped me out so much =D...the least i can do is say Thank you very much...I love your videos, they are very helpful and explanatory and you can learn at your own pace. My teachers just talks allot and says do this but doesn't actually explain why, so we just do "that" without any idea of what is happening. So once again, Thank you very much and i cant wait to see your upcoming videos =D

  • a month ago i couldn't even divide two fractions and now i am "determining the equation of a trigonometric function"

    you're amazing

  • Ah, now THAT is some inspiration for me. I just bombed a pre-cal test, so this is really starting to get my head in the right direction. My teacher is HORRIBLE. This guy is doing such a great job. God bless!

  • eventually got it! even better than book of Simon&Blume :)

  • how do u know when to do the formula of

    2pi/P, when the co-effecient is 1/2 or any fraction/number?

  • waiit isnt its 1/2 instead of 3/2 ????

  • no it's not because you'll notice that the graph went up between 1 and 2 and it was halfway between them sot it is 1 1/2 which is 3/2.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH.

  • Thanks :)

  • how could you note the diference between the graphics of sin(x + pi/2) and cos(x) when asked to determine the function from those graphics? how could you note that the graphic belongs to sin switched or just cos ? thanks :)

  • both are correct, but if u seethe graph in 2 pi lenght use the eqn that most likely resembles the graph.

  • Well explained! it would be also helpfull a video explaining how to graphic tan, sec, csc, cot :) thank you!

  • THANK YOU. i have a final where we have to go from graph to equation and our book does not explain this at all.

  • You're my herooo. Trig test tomorrow D:

  • How does the khanacademy website work? Is their a way to sign up? After clicking around, I couldn't find a registration system..

  • Great job explaining. Thanks a bunch.
