However, most of the Irish that came to America did so because of the religious oppression by the English and the great famine, which is why my family came here.
I got a bottle of Jamesons tonight. It is very smooth and easy to drink, but it doesn't have a strong taste so it might be good for beginner Whiskey drinkers while they man up their taste buds. The taste itself isn't that great but it isn't a bad whiskey.

Actually the triple distilled method for Irish whiskey was invented by John Jameson and he was a Scot. Before that the Irish distilation method was traditionally like the scotch method.
The comments about the end about St. Patrick's Day are spot on. I was at a club for it this year and tried to order a glass of Whiskey and I couldn't get a glass. They only served it as shots. Needless to say I was quite cross.
Screw China! They will own the US entirely soon...I will delay the inevitable by not purchasing their products. I will have a drink or two of some fine homemade Italian vino! Salute my friend!
Bushmills and Tullamore Dew are great. Jameson blows.

a shot glass should hold 1.5 oz, 1oz = 29.6ml
so 1.5(29.6) =44.4 ml
375/44.4 = 8.4 shots.
