CHDK is useful - but not as useful as completely open systems

Hope this takes off - and is a lever to force manufacturers to be more open

Camera manufacturers - do not - compete

They talk about being green - but if I could use my camera as a general computing device - they would lose the sale of another gadget for the rubbish heap

I'm a professional photographer and a programmer at the same time, so I know from first hand experience you are on to something BIG.

If you make the project arduino-like people will be able to buy and make it on ther own, then the community will really take off.
